Police searching for parents of baby found at MSP Airport

Police are searching for the parents of a 10-month-old baby who was found at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Sunday under strange circumstances.

According to authorities, the child arrived at the airport on the light rail around 9 p.m. with a woman who airport police describe as a "person in crisis."

Even though the child arriving with the woman, officers don't believe the child is related to that woman, nor is she a guardian. It's not clear how the woman came into possession of the child.

Despite an "exhaustive investigation", police say they have been unable to identify the child or find the child's parents. No children matching the baby's description have been reported missing or abducted either. They are now turning to the public, hoping someone will recognize the baby.

Infant found at Minnesota airport; authorities trying to locate family

Authorities in Minnesota are attempting to locate the parents or guardians of a missing child.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport Police Department said they are trying to locate the parents and/or guardians of a girl, who is believed to be around 10 months old, who was found around 9 p.m. Sunday at the airport with a person in crisis.

The adult female and child reportedly arrived at the airport via light rail on Sunday.

Investigators do not believe that the woman is a relative or guardian of the child.

Despite an exhaustive investigation, authorities say the child’s identity remains unknown. They add that no children matching the child’s description have been reported missing or abducted.

Have they not talked with the woman or asked her how she came to be with the child? Doesn't make much sense if they know somehow the child does not belong to her nor does she have guardianship etc., but they don't know how she came to have her? Sounds like they have talked to her in one case but then it sounds like they haven't. What kind of crisis? So odd.

Since they don't explain why the woman hasn't provided all answers but apparently maybe some, hard to say what happened. She could have been a sitter or an abductor... And what was she doing at the airport by light rail if she is having some type of crisis? And the baby had to come to be on the rail as well with her...

And although it is possible, it is unlkely the child walked off and got lost, she more likely crawls.

Been to this airport more times than I can count. It is our nearest and the one in which we fly out of.

At least the child is alive and safe but WTH...

Well I'm happy to hear that but what the heck happened? I'd think they could fill some in without giving out a name if that is the point. Was it intentional by mother or lady with baby? Was it neglect? Was the father found safe, why is it only mom mentioned safe? Are there other children? Are they all safe and accounted for? Any arrests or just a "misunderstanding"?
