Circumstances of Discovery
The victim was located at the 17900 Block of Bass Creek Road in Miramar, Florida, in far southwest Broward County on August 19, 1984. The skeletal remains were found under a yellow foam mattress. The body was unclad. A tattered, white blanket with blue, diamond-shaped designs and a ring (see photo) were found next to the body. A machete like instrument had repeatedly struck the victim. The dental fillings appear to be foreign to the United States, suggesting some kind of military connection. Possibly a US soldier stationed in Germany or a German National visiting the United States.
