You normally wouldn’t expect this level of accessibility from a government bureaucracy, but the demand to see Alec Baldwin’s public court documents in the “Rust” case have been so high that authorities are just putting it all online. And they’re sending out press releases touting the portal.

New Mexico district attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies, who formally charged Baldwin and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed with two counts of involuntary manslaughter each on Tuesday, has now launched an online portal via the state’s courts. She’s now asking media and the public to access anything and everything pertaining to the “Rust” case there.

If you visit nmcourts.gov, there’s a tab along the left rail that says “High Profile Cases.” Beneath it are all the criminal court documents for the cases against Baldwin, Gutierrez-Reed and “Rust” assistant director David Halls, who had already agreed to a plea deal (and was subsequently charged with negligent use of a deadly weapon). It’s an easy-access, one-stop shop for all your information on one of the most troubling stories to rock Hollywood in years!

Alec Baldwin's lawyer filed a motion Tuesday to have special prosecutor Andrea Reeb removed from the "Rust" case, just days after he was charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Baldwin's lawyer argued Reeb could not simultaneously serve as the special prosecutor and as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives, in court documents obtained by Fox News Digital.

"Doing so vests two core powers of different branches – legislating and prosecuting – in the same person and is thus barred by the plain language of Article III of the New Mexico Constitution," the legal documents read.

The legal team claimed having Reeb serve in both positions could create precedent that distorted the legislative process.

Trying to go for a technicality. I see it all the time. Well Alec, If you're guilty that won't change anything. And regardless of the outcome. Your career is over!

Rust will start filming again this spring, according to a new report, with Alec Baldwin back at the helm. The news comes two weeks after the embattled actor was officially charged in the death of the film's cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins. The producers of Rust also announced who will succeed Halyna when the Western resumes production.

Director Joel Souza is among those returning to complete the film along with a mix of old and new crew, per The Hollywood Reporter. Bianca Cline, whose past work includes Marcel the Shell With Shoes On and American Horror Story, has been named as the film's new cinematographer.

The New Mexico district attorney prosecuting Alec Baldwin for manslaughter has asked a judge for more time to respond to his lawyers' flurry of motions, as it is revealed that another crew member may testify against the actor.

Prosecutors filed an amended witness list Monday that includes David Halls, who was the assistant director on the deadly Sante Fe film set "Rust."

The widower of Halyna Hutchins — the cinematographer accidentally shot dead by Alec Baldwin — may be called to testify against the star in the actor’s trial for manslaughter, court documents show.

Matthew Hutchins, 38, on Thursday was added to an updated list of witnesses testifying against Baldwin, 64, and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, 24, before their initial court hearing, which is scheduled for Friday.

The widower had signaled as much in a statement when the involuntary manslaughter charges were formally filed late last month.

“We support the charges, will fully cooperate with this prosecution, and fervently hope the justice system works to protect the public and hold accountable those who break the law,” he said in a statement at the time.

Baldwin was handed a gun he told was clear, and then fired it. What did he do wrong, other than have a famous name and a lot of money?

SANTA FE COUNTY, N.M. — Prosecutors in New Mexico have downgraded charges filed against actor Alec Baldwin for the deadly shooting on the set of the movie “Rust.”

The Santa Fe County District Attorney had initially charged Alec Baldwin with involuntary manslaughter under a version of a New Mexico firearm law passed months after the deadly shooting in October 2021, the New York Times reported. That law, called a firearm enhancement, would have increased prison time in the case of a conviction. Had Baldwin been convicted under the law, he would have faced a minimum of five years in prison. Now, he faces a maximum of 18 months in prison, the Times reported.

In a statement to the New York Times, a spokesperson for the Santa Fe district attorney said that the prosecution dropped the firearm enhancement “to avoid further litigious distractions by Mr. Baldwin and his attorneys.”

Less than one month after he was charged, Alec Baldwin has managed to slash five years off of his possible sentence and is awaiting a ruling on a motion to disqualify the special prosecutor appointed to the case over his role in the fatal shooting of a cinematographer on the set of Rust.

With momentum on his side, Baldwin will likely take his case to a jury instead of accepting a plea deal if he’s offered one, according to several legal experts consulted by The Hollywood Reporter.

Mary Carmack-Altwies, the district attorney who serves Santa Fe County, filed an amended complaint on Monday downgrading involuntary manslaughter charges against Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed. The move, which significantly reduced their possible prison time, came after lawyers for the actor and producer of the low-budget Western argued that their client was unconstitutionally charged with violating a recently-amended firearm enhancement statute that didn’t exist at the time of the incident. Baldwin now faces a maximum sentence of 18 months in prison if convicted.

For one, he is stating that he never fired it, yet they have him on film with his finger on the trigger. I do get your point though and have thought the same since it was not obviously his responsibility to know if it was cleared or not. The victim is the one that wanted the shot down the barrel from what I understand. If that's the case, she is also at least partially responsible. The ones with the biggest responsibility for me are the armorer and the director or whomever called for the shot if it wasn't the victim that wanted it. There was no reason for it to have ANY kind of ammo in it.

CGI Could handle that.

Alec Baldwin has pleaded not guilty and waived his first court appearance after being charged with involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting on the set of his film "Rust," court officials announced Thursday.

Three “Rust” crew members filed a lawsuit against Alec Baldwin and the film’s producers on Monday, according to court docs obtained by TMZ on Monday.

The individuals claim they have suffered anxiety and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder after the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021. She was 42.

The plaintiffs in the new suit — including dolly operator Ross Addiego, set costumer Doran Curtin and key grip Reese Price — were in the church set at New Mexico’s Bonanza Creek Ranch when Baldwin’s gun fired, killing Hutchins and striking director Joel Souza.

I'm interested in knowing the difference between whatever they use to make them shoot safe vs. actual rounds. In other words, I'm not well-versed in "blanks", but I know how to check a firearm for live rounds.

Supposedly it's that they wanted the look of it firing.. The smoke and flame... That they could have easily done with graphics.
So they used a "real" gun. Wouldn't the blanks look different that real ammo? Whenever I pick up a firearm that's being used at the range with my friends, I check the chamber. Every. single. time. Gun safety 101. If there are live rounds present, that MUST be done.
