The day after Opal disappeared, her ATM debit card was used at a machine in Sam's Town Casino. Police do not believe that Opal was the one using the card. Opal does not show up on casino surveillance video at the time and the machine that was used.

Last seen at her home by her daughter, in the 100 block of Sir David Way, which is near Charleston and Nellis, at about 5 a.m. When the family member returned home around 2 p.m. Opal was gone. Her vehicle was still there, lights and TV were on. The only item missing was Opal's purse.
Cross-country SK Israel Keyes, now deceased, is known to have been in the Las Vegas area at the time of Opal's disappearance. Among his many victims, Keyes was known to also target elderly women.
