Amber Alert issued for 6-year-old, mother believed abducted from Cumming

Authorities have activated an Amber Alert for a 6-year-old girl and her mother believed to have been abducted by the girl’s father.

The alert, known as a Levi’s Call in Georgia, was issued Tuesday on behalf of the Cumming Police Department. According to the GBI, Balvanera Esperanz Parada-Olivas, 45, and her daughter, Rachel Zecena, were last in contact with loved ones between 5 and 6 p.m. Sunday.

The child’s father, 55-year-old Alexis R. Zecena-Lopez, may have taken the two against their will after a previous domestic incident, authorities said. Police believe he may be armed.

They may be traveling in Parada-Olivas’ 2016 black Ford Focus with Georgia tag RVX9470. She is described as 5-foot-2 and 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Zecena-Lopez is described as 5-foot-8 and 175 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Woman, daughter abducted in Georgia may be traveling through Arizona

A 6-year-old girl and her mother, believed to be in danger after they were abducted by the girl's father in Georgia over the weekend, may be traveling through Arizona after the suspect's vehicle was spotted Monday in Yavapai County.

According to the Department of Public Safety, 6-year-old Rachel Zecena was taken by Alexis R. Zecena-Lopez on Sunday in Cumming, Ga. Zecena-Lopez also reportedly kidnapped Rachel's mother, Balvanera Esperanz Parada-Olivas.

DPS said Zecena-Lopez has a history of aggravated assault with a firearm, and is considered armed and dangerous.

DPS said the car was seen on Interstate 40 near Seligman traveling westbound. It is believed Zecena-Lopez is traveling to California.

Amber alert: Dad in Ga. crisis has violent past, records show

Cumming police told CBS46 they believe Alexis and Balvanera were involved in a domestic dispute shortly before the three disappeared.

Neighbors say the pair were previously married until a domestic dispute led to divorce and jail time for Zacena-Lopez.

“I know he loves his daughter so much and the break up hit him hard. The divorce,” said neighbor Brenda Gossett.

“Balvanera left and that was probably a year ago. But then a couple months ago, there was another little altercation. He was arrested.” said neighbor Scott Walters.

Cumming police told CBS46 Zecena-Lopez was involved in a violent domestic dispute case in August with his ex-wife and a protective order was put in place.

“The real concern, of course, because of his history in August, he was arrested for the kidnap and rape of his ex-wife and that was a very violent encounter,” Cumming Police Chief David Marsh shared. “In fact he actually stabbed himself to make it look like she was the aggressor in that particular case.”

Cumming police say they believe this time Zecena-Lopez, who does not have lawful custody of the child, actually took the mother and daughter, after removing his ankle monitor.
