College senior, 22, reported missing after walking off from Luke Bryan's Nashville bar
A family is frantically searching for their son, a University of Missouri student, who hasn't been seen since last Friday after leaving a Broadway bar. Metro Police report Riley Strain, 22, left Luke Bryan’s bar at 301 Broadway, intoxicated, after he was asked to leave.

Strain is a senior at the university, majoring in finance. As of Tuesday, he has been missing for four days.

Strain traveled with his fraternity brothers to Nashville for a convention. He told his friends he’d walk back to their hotel, the Tempo by Hilton, about five blocks away. The bar staff felt he had too much to drink, according to his family. Strain's stepfather Chris Whiteid said there was no hostility.

However, it appears Strain went in the opposite direction when he left, about 9:45 p.m. His cell phone last pinged around 10 to 10:30 p.m. near Public Square Park, close to Gay Street and the river.

Strain’s phone pinged on the Life360 and Snapchat apps, and from Verizon’s tower about 30 to 45 minutes after he left the bar. However, Strain’s phone has not been active since.

When Strain’s friends returned to the hotel later that night, they assumed he was in another room. However, the next morning, when they realized Strain had not returned, they called his parents and police.

Strain’s family drove immediately from Missouri when they were told he was missing. Metro police and Strain’s relatives combed nearby streets downtown, parking garages, hospitals, and along the river. However, there has been no reported sign of the young man, who is 6 feet 7 inches, and about 160 pounds, according to his stepfather.

Videos show missing Mizzou student stumbling in downtown Nashville on night of disappearance

Newly released video shows missing Mizzou student Riley Strain, 22, the night he disappeared in Nashville, Tennessee.

Strain went missing after allegedly getting kicked out of country singer Luke Bryan’s bar, Luke’s 32 BRIDGE, according to friends who say they have not seen or communicated with Strain since.

In a video released by police on Tuesday, Strain is seen crossing First Avenue North to Gay Street, near the Cumberland River Friday night at 9:47 p.m.

Another video, captured by Downtown Smoke & Vape Shop showed Strain stumbling near Church Street at 9:45 p.m. Friday.

“I feel so bad,” Downtown Smoke & Vape Shop employee Michael Halim said.

He says he sees “this situation like 3 or 4 times a day.”

“After two days his mother was here, she asked me, she was crying and asked me about him if I had seen him and I told her I saw him outside walking that way, but I didn’t see him after that,” Halim said.

Audio reveals 911 call made day after Mizzou student Riley Strain went missing

Police audio revealed the phone call friends of Riley Strain, a missing University of Missouri - Columbia student, made to police a day after he was last seen on Friday, March 8.

The audio shows the call was made to police on Saturday, March 9, at 1:46 p.m., nearly 16 hours after he was seen on surveillance video.

After being kicked out of Luke Bryan's bar, Strain was seen walking in downtown Nashville.

The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission confirmed it's investigating if Strain was over served alcohol at the bar.

In the phone call to police, Strain's friend can be heard describing the last time they saw him.

"Outside of Luke Bryan's bar last night at like 10, and then the last time his location on his phone was by the sheriff's office at like 11 p.m.," the friend said in the call.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said Strain's location was last pinged on his cell phone 0.64 miles southwest of a Verizon cell tower at 19 Oldham Street.

Emergency crews spent Tuesday searching the Cumberland River for Strain.

I was getting ready to post the same and then I saw your comment. I can’t believe no one made sure he got home safely. I thought we knew better these days.
I'm pretty sure his friends didn't want to have to quit partying at 9:30 and they were staying only a few blocks away and they were most likely on a mission to party. Not excusing them in the least though. We had one in our group that got kicked out more than once and we ALL gathered and left together. The dudes in the group didn't leave their dudes behind.

It's a shame that tragedies such as this could so easily be avoided yet keep happening.
But what we can do is that if we observe a person alone and staggering down the street, offer assistance to that person.
Of course, I don't know if in this case, he was or wasn't offered assistance, it's just something we can do to make a difference.

I'm also stumped on the friends saying the find his room key but also stating that he never made it back to the room. Where did they find his room key at and how did they know it was his of he didn't make it back to the room? They don't mark them with your room number any more due to safety concerns.
I'm not sure if that's true. I saw it reported early on as well, but most have stopped reporting that.
I saw a different article yesterday that said they assumed he was sleeping in another room. Whose room? How did he get in someone else's room if they were all out at the bar? But then other articles that say they went through all of their rooms...
I suppose it's possible that they all just grabbed a room key and may have got some switched around. Or they saw an extra key laying there and thought it was his. But I'd really like to have some confirmation of whether or not HIS key was found, and how they know it was HIS key. Certainly he'd be on surveillance returning to the hotel if his room key made it back that far.

I think he may have hit his head when he fell, making the situation much worse. He appeared to be "running" before that. But afterward, he was walking with extreme unsteadiness.
It just plain doesn't look good at all for him. :sigh:

I'm still stumped by the friends actions and inactions that night from just letting him wander off by himself, visibly way too drunk to be wandering around in an unfamiliar place to the entire room key story(stories). What are they not telling us?

I also read that one friend "tried to follow" but "wasn't allowed to leave" the bar. By the time he got out, Riley was gone. Which, doesn't make any sense.
Did he have an open tab? Oh well. If he doesn't return by the end of the night then run the card and add gratuity (that's what bars here do). Do they not let people step outside to smoke or get some fresh air? Just weird.

The University of Missouri student had been cut off by the bartender at Luke Bryan’s bar, 32 Bridge Food + Drink, after he was overserved, Strain’s stepfather Chris Whiteid said. A friend of Strain’s attempted to leave the bar with him as security led Strain out of the bar around 9:30 p.m., but the security team would not let him out at that point, according to Strain’s stepfather.

By the time Strain’s friend was let out of the bar, Strain had already left the outside area of the bar. Another one of Strain’s friends called Strain. On the phone, Strain told them he was heading back to the hotel room.

Every place I've been to they are more than glad that people leave with the person that was kicked out. I've never seen any place refuse people to exit.
