GBI, FBI, and Dade County Sheriff’s Investigators Leverage Othram's FGGS Platform to Identify Rising Fawn Jane Doe

After 33 years, Rising Fawn Jane Doe has been identified as Stacy Lyn Chahorski of Michigan.

Stacy had been reported missing since September 15, 1988. It was reported that the last time Stacy spoke to her Mother by telephone she told her she was in North Carolina and was going to be traveling to Flint, Michigan and then to Muskegon, Michigan. She would have been 52 today.

Stacy was buried in a Dade County cemetery. Her body will be reunited with her family and now, through a joint investigation, the search for Stacy’s killer will continue. Anyone with information can submit anonymous tips by calling 1-800-597-TIPS(8477), online at Submit Tips Online.

So glad she has her name back! She is more lovely than her recons.
Absolutely 💯.
(This is probably a better comment for the side-by-side thread, but..)
Her canine tooth does not protrude like that, her teeth are pretty strait and within the confines of her lips, I might add. And, maybe they are hidden with make-up, but I don't see the freckles like the recon shows, nor the red hair 👀.
At any rate, I'm so glad she's got her identity back!

If you look closely, it appears that the teeth could be enhanced in the actual pic of her? The two front, upper teeth have a different look to them than the other ones.

Glad to see an unidentified matched with a missing. I don't see much similar in the actual photo against the reconstruction although I'm sure it isn't always easy and they do their best on often not a lot to work with.

Still an unidentified identified and a family with some answers. Always a great thing.

Genealogy technology identifies killer of Michigan woman missing for 33 years

Investigators in Georgia have used genealogy DNA testing to determine the killer of a Michigan woman who vanished more than three decades ago.

Stacey Lyn Chahorski of Norton Shores, Michigan, was reported missing in January 1989. But it wasn't until earlier this year that authorities confirmed through a new type of genealogy investigation that a body found in Georgia's Dade County in December 1988 belonged to Chahorski. Now, that same technology has been used to identify her killer as Henry Fredrick "Hoss" Wise, officials with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced Tuesday.

Wise, a stunt driver, was burned to death in a car accident at Myrtle Beach Speedway in South Carolina in 1999. He would have been 34 at the time of Chahorski's murder, according to a press release from the GBI.

"This case is key because it's the first time that we know of that investigative genealogy was used to identify both the victim and the killer in the same case," FBI Special Agent in Charge of the Atlanta Field Office Keri Farley said at a press conference.

Not sure why the teeth are so different, but the freckles could easily be explained by make up and the hair by hair dye or sun damage or similar. The teeth could also be explained possibly by the way her lips are positioned vs the recon since her teeth had to be the way because they were in her skull that way. The two front teeth in the actual photo of her are different than the other teeth, so possibly a veneer or flapper or something on them in the pic vs after death.
