5 year-old Samuel Olson was taken by an unknown male from a southwest Houston home in the 8800 block of McAvoy Dr. at about 7:30 a.m. on May 27th 2021.

Samuel was wearing a gray t-shirt with a red Kool-Aid man on the front of his shirt, jean shorts, and white “Buzz Lightyear” tennis shoes. Samuel was also wearing two mis-matched superhero socks. Samuel has golden-brown hair, but he also has a patch of white hair on the back / right of his head. He is missing two of his bottom teeth, and he has a crease (or pointed area) on the top of his left ear.

Just finished the video. My heart breaks for her. I have no doubt whatsoever as to her grief and her grief is real and what we do not sometimes see from parents or a parent's bf or gf, etc. in some of these cases. Or a husband of a missing wife, etc.

If the mom hasn't seen him since January of LAST year, I seriously doubt she came to get him now. I guess it is possible though maybe if there are any recent events in the court hearings or history that maybe she was just approved to take him for the holiday weekend or who knows what the situation was, maybe the father had him and moved and she could not see him or something prior or the court disallowed it. That divorce has been going on since the same month this grandma said the mother last saw or had him.

However, even if grandma had him on May 2nd, we still have no signs it sounds like of him since then and that is still a long time. And the gf is missing?? Gma said her son would never do this but I do wonder when he last saw him and how long he had been in the care of others. The video was difficult to hear and the questions impossible to hear.

My guess is the report went in because someone expected to have him or see him on the holiday weekend and the child could not be produced, whoever did this knew it, and so a story was concocted. I doubt he went missing when stated.
 
Even though it is not conclusive, Jasper Police Chief Gerald Hall said he and others believe the deceased to be a 6 year old boy who had been reported missing in the Houston area late last week. Hall also said that a person had been detained. However, he did not elaborate any further.

Hall would not release further details, but said the body of the child was found in a tote bag located in a room on the west side of the motel complex. He also said there were indications the body had been there for some time.

In a MOTEL room? And had been there for some time? How long? The room had to be paid for over the length of time he was there... Maybe they mean he had been dead for some time/in the tote for some time. Darn it. I did not have much hope but did think if it was a custody dispute there may be a chance someone hid him somewhere.

RIP poor child. My sympathies to the grandmother, her grief to me was obviously deep, real and raw. I have not seen the others, parents, etc.

I don't expect to be surprised when LE announces who has been detained, sadly.

I am watching a bit on this right now. The mother apparently was charged with assault last year, hitting the father with her car allegedly. Custody being fought in court. Etc.

Also the father was also attacked by his gf allegedly last year and he had a protective order against her. The same gf who was watching this child. Smh.

While I find the grandmother to have real grief, I do think she knows more--not in the sense she had any involvement, just that she has not shared.

And then the gf claims she was about to take the child to school when the mother and the "fake cop" showed up. Why would she be taking him to school when he hadn't been there since 04/30? And why for that matter would the school not be questioning that?

All is pointing to the gf of course but I am not so sure the father is blameless here. What is his timeline and when did he last see his son or have him?
 
Houston and Jasper are a couple of hours apart. So did she take the tote there after this investigation started and when she "disappeared" or had she been renting this room and he was there already I wonder.

Since they are two hours apart, one would almost think they had a tip or knew where she went or that she rented the room, if indeed she rented the room...

Yeah, we know she was detained but I'd sure like to know why he isn't. He basically kidnapped his son the way it is sounding to me. I saw some other coverage. The mother went to do something about it but he could not be served or found and then allegedly court was not in session or handling/processing things because of Covid.

I do believe the grandmother's grief is real but she had to also know that child was not seeing his mother and that her son never returned him as he was supposed to long ago. She was allegedly the contact point/person when they were exchanging the child.

She is not his stepmom but that's typical of the news.

I will say this, it looks like grandma, son and gf all conspired to not allow the mother to see her son. And here we are with a deceased child.
