5 year-old Samuel Olson was taken by an unknown male from a southwest Houston home in the 8800 block of McAvoy Dr. at about 7:30 a.m. on May 27th 2021.

Samuel was wearing a gray t-shirt with a red Kool-Aid man on the front of his shirt, jean shorts, and white “Buzz Lightyear” tennis shoes. Samuel was also wearing two mis-matched superhero socks. Samuel has golden-brown hair, but he also has a patch of white hair on the back / right of his head. He is missing two of his bottom teeth, and he has a crease (or pointed area) on the top of his left ear.

*(cliff notes-an anonymous tip came in to crimestoppers of Jasper County regarding this missing child. JCSO & Texas Rangers responded to the hotel & found Ms. Balboa in a room with a deceased person. She was taken into custody & is being charged with tampering w/evidence.

This is all subject to change once the medical examiner confirms the identification. Also, Houston SO confirmed that the missing child's mother was at her home the entire day that the allegation was made that she abducted Samuel.)

Balboa is charged with tampering evidence after a child’s body was found in a motel in Jasper, Texas, Houston police said Wednesday.

Balboa may face additional charges, as appropriate, police said during a news conference in which updates were shared in the case.

Balboa, who is currently in the Jasper County Jail, was out on bond from an assault case in November, police disclosed Wednesday. She was charged with assault with intent impeding breath, and Samuel’s father was the complainant in the case.

I agree but I also still am wondering about other players in this case, whether part of the "act" or cover up.

One thing interesting in the PC is that someone asked a question (I wish they would make the reporters heard with microphones in all press conferences) of an address and the LE lady said that it was Ms. Balboa's apartment residence BUT that she lives there with another male, she did not name him at this time. I don't think it's the father/fiance or I think they would have said so. Since Sam's father was her fiance, who is the other male? One wouldn't think a bf when she has a fiance so a roommate? Her father? Her brother? Curious.

Isn't this apartment and surrounding area where they concentrated searches? She reported him missing from her mother's home, but seemed to concentrate searches at and around the apartment. I'm not saying the man she lived with was involved but who knows?

Also of note was Houston PD responded at 6 p.m. that night about a missing child. He allegedly was taken by his mom and a "cop" at around 7 a.m. Almost 12 hours. It was stated that the father did contact the mother (probably hearing the story from his fiance) to see if she had him. But still when did dad become aware of this...? In the morning from his fiance or later in the day? Why the very late report? We don't know any of these answers but the father is still on my radar as well, just saying...

Clearly though Balboa is guilty of involvement, the lies, the moving of the body and quite likely his murder, but there is much unknown about other players or cover-up..

If the last verified sighting of this child was at his school on April 30th then there is still a lot of unanswered questions. Why was this child staying with Ms. Balboa & not Dalton? Where does he live? Don't schools in Texas contact parents when there are extended absences? This brings back haunting images of Lucas Hernandez.

I never thought about the car, interesting, so she had to have a ride or was loaned someone's vehicle. I have read a few things that I am not sure whether to share but I will share one because it came from a newscast although I don't have the newscast and that's that allegedly 2 people were arrested and one was male and most think it was the man who lived with her. However, not all news is saying there were two arrests so it could be a media mistake.

I can't believe the school did not alert anyone, however, I guess if they moved or claimed to, perhaps that's it? Still, I think follow-up or something would be done. Even if his grandmother had him on May 2nd as she stated, we still have weeks of him unaccounted for too. Balboa claimed she was taking him to school when the mother and "cop" stopped and I find that impossible to believe since he had not been in school since April 30th.

“Broken beyond repair.”

That’s how Samuel Olson’s maternal grandmother described her feelings in a text as both sides of the boy’s family reacted to new developments in the case.


Texas EquuSearch helped search for Samuel despite founder Tim Miller’s gut feelings.

“I was not very optimistic this child was ever going to be found,” Miller said.

He said that became even clearer following conversations with the boy’s father’s girlfriend, Theresa Balboa, who was charged in connection with the case following Tuesday night’s discovery of what’s believed to be little Samuel’s body.

“I told her, I said, 'I’m so damn disappointed in you,'” Miller said. "I said, 'You know, every word you’re saying is a lie.' And that’s when things started unravelling, I think.”
Miller said it was difficult from the beginning pinning down the last time family members saw Samuel.

That includes his father and his family.

“The last person Sam was seen with was with Theresa Balboa,” said paternal grandmother Tonya Olson on Tuesday.

Miller was with the Olson family following news that a body was found.

“I was with that family until about 12:30, after midnight, and it was just devastating over there last night and seeing dad go through all the pain and grief and everything he was going through,” Miller said.

There’s been an ongoing custody dispute between Samuel’s parents, and his father even had a restraining order against Balboa.

I just can’t get over the story that the mother was there to pick him up when it’s so easy to verify that she was nowhere in the area.

I just clicked on it right here on your post and it took me there. It is a Gray Hughes post about a man picking up Balboa at Walmart, and about her having a foul smelling tote box he picked up for her. He took her to the motel and he carried the box in. He is also the one who called Crimestoppers.

Later under the post in the comment area, Gray says there was also a stop at a storage unit...
