“Bring my grandbaby home. She is a lovely baby, and we’re so thankful for everyone looking for her. We yelled and looked for her as much as we could. She’s just gone. It’s devastating,” said Candus Harer, Summer’s grandmother.

Candus (Bly) Wells, Summer’s mother, stated she knows Summer would’ve never wandered off alone. “I know she would never wander off this hill alone,” she wrote.

A family friend added that the Wells’ thank all those who have had a hand in the search for Summer.

I'm sure this is already being done by my first thought in locating this truck would be to check with local companies such as housing construction, roofers, painters, etc to see if any of them have a matching vehicle that may have been doing work in the area at that time. It might be a long shot but worth a try, IMO.

Officials expect large group of responders at search site for missing Tennessee girl

The Hawkins County Emergency Management Agency Director says a large group of responders will likely be at the site of the search for missing Rogersville 5-year-old Summer Wells on Sunday, June 27.

A post from Hawkins County EMA Director Jamie Miller, a “large group of responders” is expected at the search site on Sunday.

Thank you to all searchers. Truly giving their all out there.

Crews ‘scaling back’ search for Summer Wells

A release from Incident Commander Tim Coup says crews are “scaling back search operations” for Summer Wells, the 5-year-old from Hawkins County who has been missing since June 15.

Coup says search efforts will continue on a more specialized team basis as needed and directed from local, state and federal agencies.

He also says search crews are physically and mentally exhausted from the rough terrain and extreme conditions.

“Just because we may not be seen as such a large present in and throughout the area, rest assured that we have not quit and won’t quit until we find Summer Wells,” Coup says in the release.

Inevitable, but they did their best 😕

Not sure why this is showing as age-restricted. Probably the user who posted it. It's just the full interview with the parents / mom from a news station.

'She was nowhere in sight': Mother of missing Summer Wells gives first on-camera interview

In one clip, Bly describes the moments that led up to Summer's disappearance from their home in the Beech Creek Community near Rogersville in northeast Tennessee:

"Me and my mother and (Summer) were planting flowers, and we went in, and after we got done washing our hands and she got a piece of candy from grandma, and she wanted to go back over and see her brothers. And I said, 'OK,' and I walked her all the way over to the porch, and I watched her walk into the kitchen where the boys were watching TV. And I told the boys, I said, 'Watch Summer, I'll be back,' and within two minutes, I came back. And I asked the boys where their sister was, and they said, 'She went downstairs, mom, to play with her toys in the playroom.' I said, 'OK.' And I yelled downstairs for her a couple times, and I didn't get no answer, which was unusual because usually she always answers me. And so I went down there to check, and she was nowhere in sight."

In another, short clip, Bly says she believes her daughter was abducted:
"I know she didn't walk away from this property by herself or off this yard. I feel in my heart that somebody has came up here and took her, has lured her away from here."

How big is the house? The boys didn't see anyone else in the house, right?

Mother of Summer Wells responds to social media backlash, rumors

Candus Bly said she’s been receiving hateful messages and comments on her posts.

“I’m sorry that you guys feel that way, but that’s my baby, and nobody would ever treat her like that as long as I was around, ever,” Bly said.

The TBI reminds the public to avoid social media rumors, speculation and conspiracies, as these further complicate efforts in bringing Summer home.

Summer Wells’ mother refutes police scanner details; denies going for a walk the day 5-year-old Summer disappeared

The parents of a missing Tennessee girl address some questions and apparent inconsistencies surrounding their daughter’s disappearance in an interview with a local news station.

As the report notes, the transcription of the emergency dispatch call, provided by Broadcastify, states that Summer’s mother discovered that her daughter was missing after returning home from a walk:

Summer’s mother denied going on a walk the day Summer disappeared.

“I don’t go on walks around here or runs, because I’m scared of the bears and snakes, and even the coyotes that are around here,” Bly said.

She also said in an earlier interview clip that she was away outside of her home for just two minutes before she found that Summer was not in the house.

It is unclear why authorities apparently believed that Summer vanished while her mother was on a walk. The dispatcher also believed that Summer was 4 years old.

But parents spoke of Summer in the past tense throughout the interview, with Summer’s mother saying at different points that “She loved ‘Frozen,'” “she loved to play in the mud,” and “Summer was the boss of the family.”

Bly also addressed the social media critics who have said they are suspicious of Summer’s parents.

“I’m sorry that you feel this way about us, but we love our children with everything we have. We’ve never went without thanks to Summer’s daddy and my husband,” Bly said. “He’s always provided for us and worked as much as he could and can, and still is, and I’m sorry that you guys feel that way. But that’s my baby, and nobody would ever treat her like that as long as I was around, ever.”

Was hoping for some kind of positive update for Summer by now. This whole thing just doesn't make any sense to me how she could have disappeared that fast wether it be on her own or someone taking her. I looked at the area she went missing from and in my opinion unless this was a targeted abduction I don't think a person looking to kidnap a child would just be circling the streets hoping to get a lucky break. Just really don't know what to think at this point.

TBI: Search for Summer ‘isn’t over’; efforts moving to ‘as needed’ basis

Mount Carmel Free Will Baptist Church has served as the hub for law enforcement and rescue crews throughout the search for missing 5-year-old Summer Wells. On Wednesday, the church returned to its normal services as the ground search is moved to an “as needed” basis according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

“Although the ground search has scaled back, points of interest have been searched daily since Sunday… that will continue to occur as needed,” said TBI spokesperson Leslie Earhart. “The circumstances leading to Summer’s disappearance remain unclear, which is why we continue to explore all possibilities, including foul play.”

After hundreds of hours of searching, looking through miles of tough terrain and calling in specialized crews, the ground search for Wells was scaled back.

“It’s hard but you just have to keep going…try to keep everybody’s spirits up,” said Kingsport Fire Department Deputy Chief Jim Carter.

Those who were on the ground searching for the missing 5-year-old say coming this point is difficult.

Donors have contributed $2,350 to a reward fund for information leading to the location or recovery of missing Hawkins County 5-year-old Summer Wells, according to Capt. Tim Coup with the Church Hill Rescue Squad.

That does not include two checks — one for $25,000 and the other for $10,000 — written by two people for information leading to Wells’ being located or recovered. Coup said the checks will be kept separate and will not be deposited into the reward fund account unless asked to do so by the individuals who wrote them.

Between the reward fund donations and the two checks, a total of $37,350 has been donated or offered so far.

If no credible leads or tips come in that that lead to Wells being found over the next six months, the money in the reward fund account will be donated to the Child Advocacy Center in Mosheim.

Just found this news article about both of their criminal records as well as this YouTube video of a CourtTV session about her case. The video does raise some very good questions but does little to provide any possible answers, it does detail the area around the home better. I just don't see how anyone could have randomly abducted her given the isolated location of the home and the timeframe given by the mother. This is definitely a mystery.
