Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

Things that outrage me are it took about 2.5 hours to kill and bury her and then he went off to work.

Most outrageous is he planned to use the same duct tape he used on her to hang her missing posters!

Yeah, what else does he have. And this was to a relative and he also tells her he loved his wife and was loyal to her but that she would hear things that she had to keep in mind that she knows he did, etc. (paraphrasing by me). Problem? His worlds are colliding like most of them. His false portrayal one way through their marriage probably to some, while saying other things to others, etc. Just his manipulative games, different acts in different scenarios... Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde... So many are. Just my thoughts. And, he has no one, big surprise and probably one relative trying to understand talked to him and he gave her this story...

CONVENIENT amnesia should really have its own name...? Where people forget any detail that may incriminate but recall ones that they feel helps them...?
