Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

I will never figure out how she packs so much into a 20, 30 or 40 minute show.

In covering Letecia Stauch (and there were many others, some most of us likely don't know of sadly), I am not sure I knew of all these searches by "Tee". I knew of some, not sure I'd heard of all...

Wow is there anything on this site about the attempted assassination? I don't do news and my daughter had to tell me about it and yet I was home all day and night Not until tonight did I even come across anything about it on YT. Now I am coming across several.

Not talking politics, I wouldn't care who such was attempted on and the shooter was killed I gather and should have been INSTANTLY and sounds like that's what he got.

I just can't believe not a single word have I seen on it. Smfh.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- A Fort Campbell soldier found dead in her home earlier this year died of nearly 70 stab wounds, according to an autopsy report.

No arrests have been made in the death of 23-year-old Pfc. Katia Duenas Aguilar, whose body was found in her Tennessee home in May near the Army post.

Clarksville Police said Wednesday that no arrests have been made.

there probably is but I mean just breaking news, not talking about politics. I've seen someone who shall remain unnamed do it plenty. just wondering why no one even mentioned it just like any headline whether a hurricane, Covid, regardless of party or who targeted etc.

maybe it's just me but i'd say that's big news and there's nothing funny about such things.

we should all care too if the SS did their job and more.

I had to hear about it from my daughter by text and then even I didn't really realize how big. and it is a crime. clearly.

I was not at work that day, took a very rare day off or I am sure i'd likely have heard about it at work, just nothing here and I was home. no one talks politics at work either but i'm sure it would have been mentioned. I get a few customers that try to lol (talk politics I mean). not going there at my job.

anyhow just wondered. i'd sure put it up with any president ever in the history of the US if such happened.

Or was news that slow on it....? Should have been breaking news I'd think...

That's the last thing I'll ever have time there plus I just don't do the political thing. I stick to crime. But the attempt was a crime, heck even a man dead and the shooter. And his poor family (the man). I'd say poor family of the shooter too but I'll wait on that one.

Haven't discussed a thing that's one way or another, never have that I can recall.

So Vance huh? Not up on that at all, like I said, I don't do politics. Crime is enough. I do vote though. I don't mean it that way.

The last I ever knew and it's been a year or so back, I had the impression few are in there or talk. The lounge. True or not? Not that I'm going to join anytime soon. I can't keep up with other things as it is.

I am curious though and always have been how that would be policed. Most these days can't even discuss such anywhere in life civilly.

The side shows are a huge problem here. They have cut grooves into the pavement in some of the intersections where it's been the problem the most. The grooves keep them from being able to get traction so they can't slide out as easily.
