The bodies of Gene Siller, Henry Valdez and Paul Pierson were all found on the green at the Pinetree Country Club on Saturday afternoon. Siller, the club’s golf pro, was shot to death near the 10th hole when police say he came upon a crime in progress. Police later found Valdez and Pierson bound and shot to death in the bed of a pickup truck parked on the green.

Investigators say a white pickup truck drove onto the 10th hole Saturday around 2 p.m. The suspect was driving the truck and there were two dead bodies in the truck bed, according to police. Siller was shot in the head on the 10th green.

Two of the three men found shot to death on a Cobb County golf course July 3 had been bound and gagged with tape before being placed in the bed of a pickup truck. Investigators said Valdez 47 CA and Pierson, 76, KS who lived in other states, were found dead in the back of a Dodge Ram after Rhoden drove it onto the 10th hole of the Pinetree Country Club and got stuck near the green. The pickup belonged to Pierson. A relationship, if any, among Valdez, Pierson and the killer is unknown at this point.

Rhoden’s arrest warrant alleges he used tape to bind the hands, legs and mouths of both Pierson and Valdez before concealing them in the enclosed bed of the white pickup. Investigators have not revealed where the men were killed or why they were in the Kennesaw area but said they did not appear to have any connection to the country club.

Officials have not said how detectives linked Rhoden, an Atlanta resident and aspiring rapper with a newly released mixtape, to the shootings and would not discuss a possible motive. A Cobb police spokesman said Thursday that details would come out in court.

Bryan Rhoden, 23, was arrested Thursday after being identified as the “lone shooter” in the triple homicide. He was taken into custody at Chamblee police headquarters after authorities lured him to the station under the guise of returning a “large sum of money” seized Saturday during an unrelated DUI arrest, officials said.

Who is Bryan Rhoden, the suspect accused of a triple murder at a Cobb County country club?

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — On Thursday, police arrested Bryan Rhoden in the murders of three men at a Cobb County golf course.

Here’s what we know about the suspect:

1. Rhoden is 23 years old and from the Atlanta area
Bryan Anthony Rhoden grew up in the Smyrna area. He was living in a high-end, high-rise condo in Midtown at the time of his arrest. He attended Georgia State University. Rhoden is an up-and-coming rapper who goes by the name B Rod and has thousands of followers on his Instagram page. The manager listed on his Twitter profile confirms Rhoden, also known as B Rod, is his client. The manager adds that he is working on a statement to release.
2. Arrest warrants say Rhoden kidnapped and bound the victims in the truck.
Channel 2 obtained arrest warrants Friday that say Rhoden kidnapped Valdez and Pierson prior to killing them. He is accused of binding their hands, legs and mouths with tape before shooting them. Rhoden was allegedly driving Pierson’s truck with Kansas license plates when he drove onto the 10th hole at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw on Saturday.
3. Investigators are working to find a connection between Rhoden and the victims
Investigators have not said whether Rhoden had any connection to the victims found in the truck. In a news conference Thursday night, Cobb County police said they are working to figure out if Rhoden had a connection to Pierson or Valdez. They would not release anymore information, citing an active and ongoing investigation. They said they are positive he had no connection to Siller.
4. Rhoden was arrested hours after the murders on an unrelated charge
Within hours of the murder, Rhoden was arrested by the Chamblee Police Department on unrelated charges, including DUI, driving a vehicle without insurance, false identification and more. At the time, Chamblee police say they did not know that Rhoden was a suspect in the triple murder. During the arrest, Chamblee police say a large amount of money was confiscated. Rhoden bonded out of the DeKalb County Jail on those charges on Tuesday at 8:35 p.m.
Cobb County Police Chief Tim Cox did not comment on whether or not Rhoden had already been identified by his department as a suspect at that time. He did, however, say that investigators developed Rhoden as a suspect within a few days of the crimes.
5. Rhoden was arrested in Chamblee Thursday in connection to the murders
Five days after the shooting, Bryan Rhoden was arrested in Chamblee with the help of the fugitive task force. Investigators set up a sting using the confiscated money. Rhoden contacted the department to retrieve the money. He was taken into custody when he showed up at the Chamblee Police Department. Rhoden has been charged with three counts of felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault and two counts of kidnapping.
6. Rhoden has been in trouble with the law before
In 2016, Rhoden was arrested in another shooting in the parking lot of a residence hall at Georgia State University. Police said Rhoden, 18 at the time, shot the driver of a Honda, 19-year-old Shelton Flournoy II, three times while attempting to sell him and a passenger drugs. Rhoden was shot once in the chest. Georgia State police said they recovered a gun and large amount of marijuana from Rhoden’s backpack. Rhoden was a GSU student at the time and lived in the dorms on Piedmont Ave. The Fulton County District Attorney told Channel 2′s Justin Gray the charges in that case are listed as “nolle prossequi,” which means the decision was made not to proceed with prosecution.
In 2020, Atlanta police seized more than $19,000 in suspected drug money from Rhoden at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport as he was boarding a plane to Los Angeles. According to court papers, another agency tipped them off about Rhoden’s suspected drug activity. K-9 units detected the smell of marijuana on the money. Rhoden allegedly punched a drug unit officer while trying to flee. He forfeited the money, but was never charged with a crime.
Rhoden was also arrested in Indiana last year for leading police on a high-speed chase that reached speeds of up to 150 miles an hour.
7. Rhoden faced a judge Friday night
Rhoden faced a judge in his first court appearance Friday night. The judge said there was no bond attached to the warrant and he would not be setting bond. A separate bond hearing will be held on July 27.
8. Rhoden has retained a high-powered criminal defense attorney
Channel 2′s Michael Seiden has learned that Rhoden has retained attorney Bruce Harvey.

Something is hinky about Roden, the suspect. He had numerous run-ins with the law & always walked away, once forfeiting a sum of money & vehicle. He was accused with shooting a man 4 times & never charged. And he has an expensive condo, travels & seems to have plenty of money to throw around. I read on several sights that he is believed to have been a confidential informant working with some law enforcement agency.

Suspect in shooting death of golf pro at Georgia Country Club knew his two other victims whose bodies were bound and gagged in his pick-up 'through marijuana trade'

  • Bryan Rhoden, 23, was charged last week after the bodies of three men were found at the Pinetree Country Club just outside Atlanta on July 3
  • The bodies of two men - Paul Pierson, 76, of Kansas; and Henry Valdez, 46, of California - were found bound, gagged and shot in the back of a truck
  • Pro golfer Gene Siller, who was the 46-year-old director of golf at the club, was found shot dead on the course near his cart
  • A friend of one of the victims found in the back of the truck said Rhoden knew Pierson and Valdez via a cannabis drug trade
  • The friend said Valdez had no shame about working with drugs because he believed cannabis was medicine
  • Valdez once responded a landlord that he worked as a 'drug dealer'
  • Pierson, the other man found in the back of the truck, was a longtime associate of Valdez but the exact nature of their relationship was unclear
  • Police had previously said Siller, a married father-of-two, was shot dead after witnessing a crime taking place

Much the same information as post above, but answers the question whether all 3 men were shot & killed at the same time. Yes, at the golf course. WE still do not know when or how the 2 men came to be bound with duct tape & put in the back of the pickup.

"Although short on detail, the indictment does provide a sequence of events previously undisclosed. All three victims were shot by Bryan Anthony Rhoden, 23, at the Pinetree County Club, Cobb prosecutors say. Two of the men had been taken there against their will in the bed of a Dodge pickup truck, bound and gagged with duct tape.

"Rhoden, an aspiring rapper who lives in Atlanta, was charged with three counts of malice murder, five counts of felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of kidnapping with bodily injury, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and tampering with evidence, the indictment states. He was arrested July 8, five days after the fatal shootings, following a sting by Chamblee Police that lured him into custody."

Autopsy reports show victims in golf course murder were shot, bound in duct tape

Channel 2 Action News has obtained the autopsy report in a triple shooting at a Cobb County country club that shows officials have ruled the case a homicide.

Channel 2′s Chris Jose obtained a copy of the autopsy reports for all three victims through an open records request. The medical examiner officially ruled the manner of death as “homicide.”

Siller’s cause of death was listed as gunshot wounds to the head and neck.

“What hurts me the most is remembering Gene bring his two boys out, five and seven. Beautiful boys,” said Brad Nycum, general manager at Pinetree Country Club.

Cobb police said Siller was at the wrong place at the wrong time on the 10th hole. It’s here where investigators say Rhoden drove a pick-up truck with two people in the bed — bound with tape.

According to the autopsy report, Henry Valdez died from three gunshot wounds to the head. The medical examiner wrote Valdez had “duct tape around his neck” along with his “hand and wrist.”

Another document shows Paul Pierson was shot 9 times, mostly on his back. The medical examiner said Pierson was “bound with duct tape around the head and neck”

Rhoden remains in the Cobb County Jail with no bail. He’s scheduled to appear in court next week.

Arrest warrant issued for second suspect in connection to Cobb golf course murders

A warrant has been issued for a second suspect in connection to the deaths of three men at a Cobb County golf course, police announced Friday.

A Cobb County judge has issued an arrest warrant for Justin Caleb Pruitt.

According to the warrant, Pruitt is accused of participating "in binding Paul Pierson with duct tape and zip ties against his will."

The warrant list Pruitt as a "co-conspirator and accomplice" of Bryan Rohden who was arrested and charged with murder, kidnapping, and other charges related to the shootings.

Warrant records also say Pruitt is accused of using duct tape and zip ties to hold one of the other victim's Henry Valdez "against his will" and later participated "in transporting Henry Valdez in the bed of a pickup truck to the Pinetree County Club."

3 indicted in Kennesaw golf course killings

Three defendants have been formally indicted by a Cobb County grand jury in connection with the killing of three men last year at Kennesaw’s Pinetree Country Club.

Bryan Anthony Rhoden, Justin Caleb Pruitt and Taylor Nicole Cameron were named in the 18-count indictment, which comes nearly 11 months after the fatal shootings of Gene Siller, Paul Pierson and Henry Valdez.

Rhoden faces a slew of charges including malice murder, felony murder, kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and tampering with evidence. Pruitt faces charges of felony murder and kidnapping with bodily injury, while Taylor is charged with criminal attempt to commit tampering with evidence.

Investigators have accused Rhoden and Pruitt of binding Pierson, 76, of Kansas, and Valdez, 46, of California, with duct tape and zip ties, before forcing them into a pickup truck in Jonesboro. Rhoden then drove the men to the golf course, where he shot them, investigators allege.

Police believe Siller, the club’s head of golf, was shot and killed by Rhoden because he stumbled upon an active crime when he went to investigate a truck on the course.

Man accused in Cobb County golf course triple murder pleads not guilty

The man accused of killing three people last year at a Cobb County golf course appeared in court Monday for an arraignment hearing. Prosecutors have said they will pursue the death penalty in the case.

Dressed in a suit and tie, Bryan Rhodan walked alongside his attorneys and formally entered a plea of not guilty. The 24-year-old is facing 17 charges, including murder and kidnapping.

Rhodan is being represented by two attorneys from the Georgia Capital Defender Office. During Monday's arraignment, his defense team expressed concerns about still not having access to certain pieces of evidence including DNA tests.

“(In) some ways what we’ve been provided gives more questions than answers," said defense attorney Emily Prokesch.

Prosecutors pushed back saying that the state has turned over everything they have access to, adding that the tests are still in the hands of investigators with the ATF.

“Per ATF policy – the analyst conducting the tests will not speak to myself or the defense until the results are completed," said Senior Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Green.

While the judge did not decide on the next hearing date, he did announce Feb. 15 as the deadline to file motions in the case.
