Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

Is that suppose to be funny?. I would never do that. You can't overdose on marijuana, But there are people who are allergic to it. What morons. They should be charged, Drugging a person unaware.

Casey makes my blood boil. Casey Routier, Or Darlie Anthony. I would hate to think juries are being paid off. However I strongly suspect that in the O.J. case. He did it!

I'm cynical. Big surprise right? There is always a way when it comes to those with power, money or the system is corrupt whether on a small scale or large.

A judge even can throw a jury trial on what is allowed to be heard and what isn't. Tons of ways, just one example.

Or if a conviction can give a light sentence or heavy in most cases.

A juror got to as you say. Or paid off. Or threatened.

A witnesss threatened, killed, etc.

I have a lot of faith in an honestly picked jury for an honest pool of jurors; but I don't have faith in who picks them, who decides what they do and do not hear, etc.
