JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

1580704661510.png

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events
  • April 3, 2018 - Tylee Ryan's father, Joseph Ryan, dies. Death ruled heart attack.
  • December 2018 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow make first appearance on Preparing a People podcast.

  • August 2019 - Lori moves to Rexburg, Idaho with kids
  • September 3, 2019 - Joshua "JJ" Vallow enrolled in school
  • September 23, 2019 - JJ last attended school

  • September 2019 - Tylee also seen in September, but it's unclear when and where (she had graduated early)
  • October 2, 2019 - Lori's niece's ex-husband was shot at, missing his head by inches. Shooter was driving a vehicle registered to Charles Vallow.

And where were the kids and Tammy at the time of burning and the neighbors. I think a neighbor mentioned fire/s. I think they already had her remains in something or in some condition when they burned them. Wasn't she also dismembered. It is pretty clear we don't have the probably FULL ON details on Tylee's remains and I'd probably prefer not to have but pretty much just a mass or blob but they were able to tell some things weren't they.... I have it in my head she was dismembered...

It throws me a bit he/they would do this in his fire pit. One would think it wouldn't be easy and there'd be odor. Four and a half or whatever it is acres is NOT that big. I know people in subdivisons in town or a city that have that much for a YARD. He WAS though I recall googling wind directions, etc. so maybe planned for a day it would not waft towardsd his own house or towards a neighbor. STILL...
Regarding Tylee, Tammy was at work, because he texted her about the "racoon" he had killed and was burying as well as burning some "limbs" at the same time. The fact that he was actually burying a dismembered teenage girl is now what has become evident.

Regarding JJ, there was no burning but he was also buried n Chad's back yard and covered with boards. Not sure where Tammy was that day, unless that was when she visited her family.

I don't believe he will testify to enable him to be questioned about either of these occasions.

I don't see how he thinks he'll get off on murder charges at ALL. The "I was seduced by a sexual bombshell" is an insult to Tammy and her family. Tammy was a very pretty woman who supported her husband's terrible books and raised his five children. The only thing would be some "sympathetic" juror who has been duped at one time in their life who says he should get life without parole instead of death.

She should be the one who does, but was she coerced?
It depends whether she was still bewitched by Chad or not. Supposedly Alex had already told her he believed he was their fall guy and he was right about that. If she knew that these two had killed 4 or 5 already, including two children and two spouses, I guess she might not question them too much out of fear.

The prosecution must bring enough evidence to show what an evil pair these two were. Will they be able to mention Lori's conviction in this trial?

Prior is being naughty again. Who is surprised?

1:26 p.m. Prior asks what Mr. Daybell traveling twice has anything to do with Charles Vallow’s death. Kunsaitis says it has nothing to do with his death. Prior asks if he put it on the timeline to get a reaction from the jury. Wood objects. The objection is sustained. Boyce says we need a sidebar and they all leave the courtroom.
1:28 p.m. The court reporter has now left the room with Boyce’s staff attorney.

The court reporter has now left the room with Boyce’s staff attorney.

1:24 p.m. Prior shows the travel timeline prepared by Kunsaitis. He asks if one of the flights from Idaho Falls to Mesa was for business or to record a podcast. Kunsaitis says he does now know. Prior asks about another trip and asks if it was for a business trip. Kunsaitis is not aware. Prior asks if he is aware of Chad’s occupation. Kunsaitis says he owned a publishing company, wrote some books, spoke at events and recorded podcasts.

1:22 p.m. Prior asks Kunsaitis how many accounts Alex shared with Lori. Kunsaitis says they shared one Barclay’s credit card.

1:21 p.m. As Prior walked to the podium, he said to the gallery in front of Wood, “If I had known that was going to happen, I would have been prepared” with a smile. Wood objects to the comment. Boyce didn’t hear it and calls a sidebar. The sidebar is over and apparently all is resolved.

1:20 p.m. Jurors are back in their seats and Wood has no further questions for Kunsaitis. Prior will now question the witness.

1:16 p.m. Boyce says if the matter comes up and Prior wants to inquire, he can ask a generic question – like if the witness is aware Alex Cox has a firearms felony – but not get specific. He can inquire but not get into detail about the victim.

1:12 p.m. Prior says he needs guidance from the court about questioning Kunsaitis about firearms. He says the 2007 felony case involving Alex Cox and Joseph Ryan may come into play as Prior cross examines Kunsaitis. Boyce has ruled that incident cannot come into play during the trial. Wood argues the 2007 event shouldn’t be brought into this trial. Apparently Prior wants to bring up whether Alex legally or illegally bought the weapons.

1:10 p.m. Boyce is on the bench. He says there will be a brief motion hearing right now outside the presence of the jury.

1:02 p.m. We are back in the courtroom. The bailiff reminds everyone to silence their phones, watches and computers. There are around 25 people in the gallery today. Det. Kunsaitis remains on the stand.

12:02 p.m. Lunch recess. Back in an hour.

12 noon The last page of the timeline shows Lori and Chad flew from Hawaii to Phoenix in November and then to Idaho Falls. On Nov. 28, Chad flew his kids and spouses to California. No record of Tylee or JJ on this trip. Last box shows Chad and Lori flew from LAX to Hawaii in Dec. 2019.

11:56 a.m. Charles Vallow died July 11, 2019. After his death, Lori traveled under the name of Lori Ryan – not Vallow. In late August, Lori and Melani B. flew from Phoenix to Idaho Falls. From Oct. 8-13, Lori flies from Idaho Falls to Phoenix and then goes to Missouri. Tammy was shot at in her driveway on Oct. 9. On Oct. 17, Lori flies from Las Vegas to Hawaii. She was supposed to return on the 21st. She flies back from Hawaii and flies to Idaho Falls. In early November, Chad flew from Salt Lake City to Kauai. Chad booked the Kauai flight five days after Tammy’s funeral service.

11:52 a.m. Kunsaitis has prepared a timeline showing all the travel with Chad and Lori. He walks the jury through the timeline. Chad and Lori met on Oct. 26, 2018. The timeline starts in January 2019. Chad took a flight to Arizona in January. In March, Lori flew from Phoenix to Idaho Falls but canceled it for unknown reasons. She ended up booking a flight and flew to Hawaii instead. Mid to late March, Chad flew from Idaho Falls to Phoenix. The flight was booked by Lori. In April, Lori flew one way from Phoenix to Idaho Falls. She then flew back. On Apr. 26, Chad flew roundtrip from Idaho Falls to Houston. Lori paid for the flight. Chad used his SpringCreek business credit card to pay for baggage. In May, Lori flew one way from Phoenix to Provo.

11:50 a.m. The next document is a United Airlines Record paid for by Lori Vallow but the ticket is for Chad Daybell.

11:48 a.m. The next document is a hotel folio from a Holiday Inn in Houston from Apr. 26-29, 2019. Lori was living in Houston with Charles and this hotel folio syncs up with the dates Chad traveled to Houston, Kunsaitis says.

11:46 a.m. Attorneys are back at their tables. The next exhibit shows records from Allegiant Airlines. There were no flights recorded for JJ and Tylee, but multiple flights were taken between Arizona and Idaho for Chad Daybell, Lori Vallow, Alex Cox and Melani Boudreaux in 2019.

11:44 a.m. Prior asks to approach. The attorneys gather with Boyce in the corner of the courtroom and white noise is played.

11:41 a.m. Wood moves to admit a huge stack of papers (like the size of a ream). As the bailiff hands Prior the stack, he jokingly says, “I’ll just do some light reading, judge.” Prior is now reviewing them.

11:39 a.m. Kunsaitis says Chad and Lori flew to Hawaii on Nov. 3 on American Airlines. Next exhibit shows Southwest Airlines records. Lori and Charles traveled on the airline in 2019. JJ had six trips between Phoenix and Houston prior to them moving to Idaho. There were no flights for Tylee.

11:34 a.m. Flight records from American Airlines are being submitted for evidence. Kunsaitis says there is flight information for Tylee and Lori. Tylee flew to Hawaii in February and March of 2019. Lori flew multiple times with American. There are also flights for Chad Daybell.

11:28 a.m. Kunsaitis learned Arizona only keeps track of narcotics and opioids – no other medications. Kunsaitis now reads an email Lori sent to her accountant. She explains to the accountant that Charles Vallow died and she wanted information about how to forward tax returns to her new address. The accountant responds saying he is sorry to hear about Charles. The email is dated Sept. 9, 2019. Kunsaitis says Tylee’s last known proof of life was Sept. 8 or 9 — so the email was sent hours after Tylee was buried.

11:25 a.m. Kunsaitis found prescription records for JJ in Hawaii but not in the timeframe they were looking for. Nothing was found for Tylee in Hawaii. Kunsaitis searched for multiple names related to JJ with last names Ryan and Vallow. Kunsaitis also searched for Melani Boudreaux and Melani Pawlowski. Kunsaitis says Tylee Ryan once traveled by Tylee Vallow one way but returned Tylee Ryan.

11:21 a.m. Kunsaitis now talks about doing a search for pharmaceutical records in Arizona, Montana, Hawaii and Idaho. Kunsaitis says early on in the case, they received a tip that JJ and Tylee might be held in a compound in Montana so that’s why he searched drug records in Montana.

11:19 a.m. Kunsaitis says Lori and Melani flew from Phoenix to Missouri, according to flight records. There were only two people listed on the hotel folio.

11:18 a.m. The next exhibit is a Residence Inn bill in Kansas City, Missouri. The IP of the Venmo account was tracked to this hotel. The room was registered to Melani Boudreaux. Lori traveled to Kansas City with Melani. Lori was in Missouri using Tylee’s phone and Tylee wasn’t there, Kunsaitis says.

11:15 a.m. The next document is a letter from Windstream. Kunsaitis says Lori was transferring money into Tylee’s account and then immediately sent via Venmo to other places. Windstream Services provides/tracks IP accounts and says the Venmo transfer was done on Oct. 10, 2019 in Missouri.

11:13 a.m. Kunsaitis says Lori was in possession of Tylee’s cell phone and Venmo transfers were being made through Tylee’s account. The next document shows a CableOne document for Alex Cox for the other apartment. Kunsaitis says Alex and Lori switched apartments.

11:10 a.m. Kunsaitis says at the time Chad sent the email, the kids were missing. We now see a CableOne document showing Lori signed up for service in Sept. 2019. It was for service in apt. 107 but she was living in apt. 175.

11:07 a.m. The next document shows a Hawaii Dreams Realty document from Julie Black. The email to Julie Black was sent from Chad.Daybell@gmail.com on Nov. 8, 2019 – three days after Chad and Lori got married. “We are interested in seeing this property. Would the owners be interested in leasing this property to a clean couple with no kids or pets.”

11:05 a.m. The next exhibit is a Wells Fargo Visa card application for Chad. The following is Capital One monthly statements for Chad and Tammy.

11:03 a.m. The next exhibit is a bank account application for Chad Daybell at First Hawaiian Bank followed by a credit card application for Chad Daybell at Citibank.

10:58 a.m. We now see a list of Chad Daybell’s bank accounts and the transaction history on a few of those accounts.

10:54 a.m. We now see a timeline of Alex Cox’s financial details from Feb. 7, 2019 – Dec. 12, 2019 – the day of Alex’s death. Alex had a steady income from February through August. He applied for the loan on Aug. 9. It was deposited into the account. From Aug. 10-Oct. 24, Alex made 46 transactions for gun-related purchases. On Nov. 13, Alex opened Mountain America Credit Union account in Rexburg and he dies less than a month later.

10:50 a.m. Wood continues questioning Kunsaitis. He explains several exhibits detailing credit card applications.

10:48 a.m. Judge notes the blinds are now open by request of the jurors. They were previously closed for the camera video feed. It is nice having some sunlight in here but I know it affects the look of the livestream.

10:44 a.m. We are back in the courtroom. Prior and Chad chat at their table as prosecutors get settled in. Boyce has just taken the bench. Kunsaitis returns to the witness stand. Jurors will be brought in shortly.

If they don't have enough evidence, then no one can be convicted. IMO

I can't remember if they are able to mention Lori's conviction or not? Or if I've ever heard one way or the other?

This says Oct 26th 2018 is when Lori and Chad met. They went to that St.George Utah conference and that is when they were all photographed eating the legalised hash brownies, I think.

3:25 p.m.
Wood has more exhibits for the witness but figures this is a good stopping point until tomorrow morning. Join me tonight at 6:30 p.m. for ‘Courtroom Insider.’

3:24 p.m. The transfers were made around 9:50 a.m. that morning. Police were on the property searching for the kids.

3:24 p.m. The same day, Chad also transferred $8,000 to his son Garth from a savings account.

3:22 p.m. Douglass says Daybell transferred $10,000 from his Spring Creek book account to his personal account on June 9, 2020. That same date he moved $8,000 to Seth’s account. He also sent $8,000 to Joseph and Emma Murray.

3:19 p.m. Chad transferred $1,000 to three of his kids on the date Rexburg police announced JJ and Tylee were missing. On Jan. 3, 2020, there were two money transfers to Chad’s middle son – one from his business account, one from his personal. The total was $1,500. On March 6, 2020, Lori was extradited from Hawaii to Idaho. Chad sold his two vehicles on March 8 to his two daughters. They gave him $200 each for both vehicles. On June 9, 2020, they discovered Chad had transferred $8,000 to his children.

3:17 p.m. Chad received his final check and resigned from the AVOW website on Nov. 1. Chad got a percentage of the fees he acquired on those who would read his column. The timeline details the trip to Knott’s Berry Farm. He bought tickets for himself, 5 kids and some in-laws and a ticket for Lori.

3:15 p.m. The timeline shows Tammy’s life insurance was increased on Sept. 8, 2019. This was the same date as the last known sighting of Tylee. Chad continued to purchase prepaid phones. On Oct. 8, 2019, Chad initiated a refinance with Wells Fargo. The timeline shows he later canceled the refinance and filed a claim to cash out Tammy’s life insurance policy.

3:12 p.m. Douglass explains dates when Chad purchased a prepaid phone, when Alex used his credit card to purchase a flight for Lori to Idaho Falls, a date when Lori purchased a flight for Chad to Arizona, a time when Lori paid for Chad’s flight to Houston and some other dates when Chad bought prepaid phones.

3:11 p.m. Next up is a timeline focusing on Chad and Tammy Daybell’s financial history. It also includes information regarding Lori and life insurance and travel information.

3:08 p.m. As Douglass reads through the timeline, Chad is scrolling through the computer in front of him at the defense table.

3:05 p.m. The timeline also shows Lori applying for the Rexburg apartment, when Tylee’s payments were changed and Lori’s move to Rexburg. It includes text messages between Colby and Tylee and when Tammy’s life insurance was increased.

3:03 p.m. Wood moves to admit a document Douglass has prepared called “The Grand Theft Timeline.” The first item on the chart is Joe Ryan’s death. Tylee then starts receiving Social Security payments. The chart shows when life insurance payments were paid out to Lori and when she used her card to pay Valley of the Sun mortuary.

2:57 p.m. Wood asks to admit an exhibit showing the Social Security payment table of money going into Lori’s BBVA account. Grand total of $22,545 went into the account after the deaths of the children.

2:51 p.m. Wood now moves to admit a timeline showing JJ Vallow’s financial history. We see the timeline and it has key points such as Charles Vallow’s death, text messages from Lori, the listing of JJ’s service dog for sale and Lori applying for the apartment in Rexburg.

2:48 p.m. On Oct. 10, Venmo provided IP data regarding the transfer of the funds. Money was sent to Colby from Kansas City, Missouri. The other dates on the timeline show when Tammy died and when the bodies were found on Chad’s property.

2:45 p.m. On Sept. 9, 2019, Douglass discovered an email from Lori to her accountant asking about a tax refund she had not received. On Sept. 10, one of Tylee’s accounts was added as a source account on Venmo. On Sept. 20, Tylee’s JP Morgan Chase account was completely closed and the remaining amount was withdrawn. On Sept. 22, there were texts associated between Tylee’s phone and Lori and Colby. Lori texted Tylee’s phone saying to send Colby money or Lori would tell Colby she sent money to Tylee and Tylee would send the money.

2:43 p.m. Douglass continues to walk us through Tylee’s financial timeline. It shows when Lori started to receive Tylee’s Social Security payments and the move to Rexburg. Colby sent Tylee a message on Sept. 8 asking for money via Venmo. This was a regular occurrence, Douglass says. Tylee responded back that she couldn’t Venmo the money because mom gets her money now.

2:42 p.m. We are back in the courtroom. Boyce is on the bench and jurors are in their seats.

2:19 p.m. Douglass continues to detail key events in Tylee’s financial history. Wood pauses and we will have an afternoon recess. Be back in 15-20 minutes.

2:15 p.m. The next exhibit shows Tylee’s financial timeline. It begins with the death of Joseph Ryan. That’s when the Social Security started. Tylee received her GED in Oct. 2018. Lori then opened an account.

2:07 p.m. Back to the testimony. Wood displays a timeline showing the monthly number of transactions on Tylee’s accounts. There is a lot of activity early on and then it drops down to very little.

2:05 p.m. Sidenote: we just received an email regarding courtroom seating for the trial. Starting Monday, the reservation system will no longer be required. Admission will be first-come, first-serve for as long as seats remain available. There will be no priority seating and no designated seating for the public or media.

2:04 p.m. Wood moves to admit a timeline Douglass made regarding Tylee’s bank account records.

2:01 p.m. Wood questioning Douglass. He asks him to explain how audits and other investigations are done. When he was brought into the investigation, he started building a spreadsheet and it got to include around 80 accounts.

1:58 p.m. Next witness is FBI Forensic Accountant Michael Douglass. He also testified in Lori Vallow’s trial last year.

1:54 p.m. Prior has no further questions. Wood has some brief follow up. He asks Kunsaitis if he was responsible for GPS data. The detective says no. Wood asks if during his review of finances he was aware of Lori and Chad being in a business together. Kunsaitis says no. “But were they in a relationship together?” “Yes,” Kunsaitis answers. Wood asks if Lori was married to Chad when she received some of the funds. Kunsaitis says yes. Wood has no further questions. Kunsaitis will be recalled later.

1:53 p.m. Kunsaitis says there’s no information to suggest Chad took any of the Social Security funds from JJ or Tylee. Kunsaitis says correct. Prior says Lori Vallow is the only person who took the money and it is not a reflection on Chad. Kunsaitis says correct.

1:51 p.m. Prior asks Kunsaitis if he had the ability to check Alex’s phone to see if he was at Costa Vida. Kunsaitis says Tylee’s card was used and Tylee’s phone was in the area of the restaurant – that’s all he can testify to. Prior asks if Chad Daybell was there. Kunsaitis says that’s unknown.

1:50 p.m. Prior asks Kunsaitis if it would surprise him if Alex Cox visited Costa Vida. Wood objects and Boyce sustains. Kunsaitis says all he can testify to is the fact Tylee’s phone was in the area of the restaurant.

1:48 p.m. Prior asks who were the people who went to Costa Vida. Kunsaitis tried to get video showing who ate at the restaurant but too much time had passed and the surveillance was erased. Tylee’s phone was in the immediate area of the cell tower next to Costa Vida. Kunsaitis says when Chad and Lori were detained in Hawaii, Lori had Tylee’s phone.

1:47 p.m. Prior asks Kunsaitis if Chad and Lori ever had a joint bank account. He says he doesn’t think so – even after they were married. Prior says they never co-mingled their money but Alex and Lori did.

1:45 p.m. Prior asks Kunsaitis about the timeframe he searched for information on Alex Cox looking up firearms. Kunsaitis says it was during the time JJ and Tylee were missing. Prior asks if the detective is aware about the paintball gun incident with Tammy Daybell. Kunsaitis is.

1:42 p.m. Prior moves to admit exhibits showing Alex Cox searching the internet for firearms. Prior asks Kunsaitis if he is aware that Alex looked at firearms on other occasions. Kunsaitis says no. Prior asks Kunsaitis if he was aware that Alex had a felony conviction prohibiting him from purchasing firearms. Kunsaitis says there was an arrest but it did not prohibit him from purchasing firearms.

1:39 p.m. Prior asks if Kunsaitis knows all the facts surrounding Charles Vallow’s death. Kunsaitis says not all of them but he knows Chad was not implicated in the deaths. Prior says that by putting the death on the timeline, it seems that Kunsaitis is implicating Chad in connection to the death. Kunsaitis says no.

1:37 p.m. Prior returns to questioning Kunsaitis. He refers to the timeline and asks the detective how many flights Lori paid for Chad. Kunsaitis says there were two flights – January and March of 2019. Prior says this has nothing to do with the death of Charles Vallow.

1:35 p.m. All of the attorneys return to the courtroom and Boyce is back on the bench. Boyce says there was a concern about unauthorized audio recordings of the proceedings. Boyce says people could be held in contempt if there are recordings.

Was this Tylee's final text? Also, why was Tylee always sending money to Colby?

So once Lori started receiving Tylee's SS, Tylee was murdered.

So the motive for murdering Tylee was money essentially. I guess they will show the same for JJ too.
MMO means, motive, opportunity.

They have shown motive (money) so they now need to show means and opportunity. We know nothing much about how either of them were killed so far. We only know their remains were found buried in Chad's back yard

So this article gives the manner of death of both Tylee and JJ. It is taken from Lori's trial.

JJ's COD was asphyxiation and Tylee's was homicide by unspecified means.

BOISE, Idaho — A forensic pathologist who conducted an autopsy on the body of JJ Vallow said the boy died of asphyxia when questioned Wednesday in the trial Lori Vallow Daybell.
Dr. Garth Warren, a forensic pathologist who has contracts with multiple Idaho counties, said the cause of death for the 7-year-old was asphyxia caused by a plastic bag being placed over his head and duct tape over his mouth, the East Idaho News reports.

Warren detailed during his questioning that when they received JJ's body for the autopsy, they found a white plastic bag over his head with duct tape. Duct tape was also bound around his forearms, hands and ankles.
Clothes, duct tape, the plastic bag, hair and teeth were given to law enforcement after the autopsy was completed, Warren said during the trial.
East Idaho News reports that Warren said there were no signs of disease or trauma to internal organs including in the ribs and lungs.
Warren also testified that they determined the cause of death for Tylee Ryan, JJ's sister, was a homicide by unspecified means, East Idaho News reports.
He described how the 16-year-old's remains were delivered to him in a variety of bags and severely charred and destroyed.
During the autopsy, Warren said they looked for bullets, a portion of a knife or any other debris that could be collected as evidence, East Idaho News reported. They instead found only a collection of bones with mud and dirt.
Through a variety of tests, Warren testified that there was no evidence to support Tylee was alive when her body was burned, East Idaho News reports.
The bodies of JJ and Tylee were recovered on June 9, 2020 in the backyard of Chad Daybell's rural Idaho home.

The questioning comes on week three of the eight-week trial of Lori Vallow Daybell held in St. Anthony, Idaho.
Lori Vallow Daybell and her husband, Chad Daybell are accused of conspiring together to kill JJ, Tylee, as well as Chad Daybell's late wife Tammy Daybell.

These are live from this morning. They mention that Chad does not have shackles but has a leg monitor. He can seem to come and go as he wants in and out of the court and has his laptop. Remember Lori was shackled to the floor most of the time. Strange, and wrong, that they are treating Chad so differently.

Anyway, this morning's updates so far.

Excuse the typos – these are live updates from the courtroom

10:43 a.m.
Blake shows a slide on the screen that says “Charles Vallow’s Cell Phone Extraction Data.” Duncan reads an email purportedly from Charles to Chad inviting him to visit Arizona to help him write a book.

10:40 a.m. We are back in the courtroom. Attorneys are at their tables and Boyce is on the bench. Jurors are being brought in.

10:09 a.m. Boyce calls for a morning recess. We will be back in 30 minutes with the PowerPoint.

10:07 a.m. Blake moves to admit a PowerPoint exhibit prepared by Duncan.

10:05 a.m. Duncan determined Charles’ phone was the catalyst of an argument that happened between him and Lori the day of the shooting. Shortly after the shooting, Lori left the house with Charles’ phone. She returned the phone to police and they did an extraction on the device.

10:03 a.m. Blake asks if any additional blood was located in the home. Duncan says there was. Alex told them he washed his hands in the sink so there was some blood on the faucet. Duncan says the shooting was investigated as a homicide. He was assigned as the lead agent in June 2020.

10 a.m. Alex told police he was standing in the southwest corner of the living room and he and Charles were face to face with each other. Alex said he shot Charles twice standing up. As police were cleaning up the scene, Duncan noticed an indention in the floor that would have been consistent with Charles being shot while lying on the ground.

9:58 a.m. Duncan and the crime scene techs did not touch the body. The medical examiner arrived and the AED pad was removed. Another wound was noticed in the center of Charles’ chest. There were two additional wounds on his back consistent with bullet holes. Blake asks if the wounds in the back and front appeared to be linked. Duncan says they try not to immediately determine that but Alex mentioned Charles had been shot twice so they assumed they were entry and exit wounds.

9:54 a.m. Charles was lying the wooden floor next to a baseball bat. By this point, Charles had been pronounced dead. Duncan said there were reports Alex had done CPR. The fire department had placed pads on his chest to determine whether life-saving measures were needed. Duncan says he noticed a bullet wound in the lower left quadrant of his torso. His t-shirt was cut open and AED pads were put on for medical intervention. Duncan did not notice a lot of blood on the floor surrounding the body which is not consistent with someone who have been given CPR.

9:52 a.m. Duncan was assisted by crime scene technicians. Patrol officers gave him a briefing and a technician then entered the crime scene to take photos. “The crime scene in this case was very simple relative to other crime scenes,” Duncan says. They entered through the front door and there was a small foyer that opened up into a large living room. There was a wood plank floor, no furniture, mirrors on the walls and an open window. “It was very sparse,” he says.

9:51 a.m. Alex Cox made the 911 call. He said he shot his brother-in-law Charles Vallow in self-defense. Before this day, Duncan had never heard of Alex or Charles. Duncan was assigned to document the crime scene.

9:49 a.m. Blake asks Duncan if he was working on July 11, 2019. She asks if he responded to a report of a shooting. He did. The call came in around 8:36 a.m. He arrived 20-30 minutes after the original call.

9:47 a.m. Chandler Police Det. Nathan Duncan is the next witness on the stand.

9:44 a.m. Blake asks Heideman if she was aware that Melanie Gibb or David Warwick profited from JJ’s death. She says no. Blake has no further questions. She is done testifying at this point but will be recalled by the state later in the trial.

9:43 a.m. Blake asks about the statement that people having affair change their phone numbers. She asks Heideman if people involved in criminal activity also change phone numbers. Heideman says yes.

9:42 a.m. Blake asks Heideman if she’s aware who designated Charles as Ned. Heideman says Lori calls Charles Ned but she doesn’t know where the name comes from. The searches for Ned were done around the same time Lori was calling Charles Ned. Blake asks Heideman found any searches in Chad’s email regarding divorce or separation. “Not that I recall,” she responds.

9:40 a.m. Blake asks Heideman if she is aware Audrey is married. Heideman says at the time, she was not married. Blake asks about the attempted shooting of Brandon Boudreaux and the death of Charles Vallow. She asks Heideman if she is still involved in active investigations regarding those incidents. Heideman says she is not.

9:38 a.m. Prior asks Heideman if she’s aware Lori Vallow was in Hawaii with Audrey Barattiero and Melanie Boudreaux on Oct. 22, 2019. Prior asks Heideman if she’s aware the ladies were looking for wedding dresses on that day. Heideman is unaware of that. Prior has no further questions. Blake will now re-direct.

9:37 a.m. Prior asks about the search on removing the back seat of a Jeep. That was on Lori’s account. Prior asks if there were any searches done by Chad about moving a seat. Heideman says no. Prior clarifies that Chad has not been charged in Arizona. Heideman says that’s correct.

9:36 a.m. Prior says Chad and Lori have strong religious beliefs – but so do Melanie Gibb, David Warwick, Alex Cox and Zulema Pastenes.

9:34 a.m. Prior says he didn’t see anything where Chad Daybell searched for life insurance on the kids. Heideman says he didn’t. Prior asks if there were any emails that said, “Let’s kill two kids.” Heideman says there were not. Prior says Lori searched for life insurance information. Prior asks about Elaina and Hiplos and if there are religious meanings. Heideman says not necessarily – it got confusing because Chad and Lori called each other different names.

9:30 a.m. Prior directs Heideman to look at the lollytime4ever slide. He asks Heideman about Lori’s children watching their father be killed. Prior says we don’t know what JJ or Tylee saw – the evidence goes both ways. Prior says one of Tylee’s close friends was interviewed and provided information on what Tylee says.

9:27 a.m. Prior says the day after Chad searched for the wind details, he emailed his wife saying he was going to burn some limbs in the backyard. Prior now asking about track phones and how if you were having an affair, wouldn’t it be logical to buy different phones to hide it from his wife. Heideman says it’s possible.

9:26 a.m. Prior asking about the search that says “when you surprise someone with accusations.” He asks Heideman if she knows who typed that information. She says someone with access to Chad’s email account. Prior asks the same question about the wind search. Again – Heideman says it was someone with access to his account.

9:24 a.m. Prior asking about Ned Snider/Schneider. Heideman says Chad regularly did searches for different people but the Ned Snider/Schneider was directly connected to this case. Prior says Chad’s history shows there are a lot of inquiries into a lot of names and topics – thousands of searches.

9:21 a.m. Prior asks if it’s possible Lori could have been dropping hints about one day getting married and having a malachite ring. Heideman says ultimately they purchased malachite wedding bands. Prior asks Heideman if she’s aware there were discussions between Alex and Zulema about malachite rings. She isn’t sure about that.

9:19 a.m. Heideman is not sure where the searches were done from – a phone or computer. Prior asks about the search on March 6, 2019 about Leo and Cancer being compatible.

9:17 a.m. Prior shows the slide of the chad.daybell@gmail.com searches. Prior asks Heideman if we know for sure Chad did the searches. She says no – she doesn’t know for sure that it was Chad typing in the searches but someone with access to his account. Prior asks Heideman if she’s aware 3-4 other people were living in Chad’s house at the time.

9:15 a.m. Prior asks Heideman about Chad and Lori being in a romantic relationship. He says the relationship was happening while Charles and Tammy were both alive. Heideman says that’s correct. Prior asks if some of the Google searches could be explained by the fact that Chad was trying to hide his affair with Lori. Heideman says she’s unsure she understands.

9:13 a.m. Prior says Lori Vallow, Alex Cox, Melanie Gibb and David Warwick were all around JJ Vallow on the day he died. Prior says he doesn’t see any Google searches on Gibb or Warwick. “Why don’t I have any Google search information on Melanie Gibb or David Warwick?” Heideman says she doesn’t write the search warrants.

9:12 a.m. Heideman says she is not communicating with the agent in any significant way. Prior asks Heideman if she believes JJ Vallow was murdered the afternoon of Sept. 22 up until late morning of Sept. 23. Heideman says yes. Prior asks Heideman if she’s aware JJ was murdered either in an apartment of Lori Vallow or close proximity. Heideman says she isn’t sure if we know exactly where he was killed.

9:08 a.m. Prior says he notices there is an FBI agent in the court who has been here a number of times. He asks Heideman if that is her supervisor. She says he is not her direct supervisor. Heideman says she has not discussed her testimony in detail with him. Prior asks Heideman if she has spoken with the FBI agent if she has spoken with him over the last week about the testimony in the case. She says possibly.

9:07 a.m. Prior asks Heideman is she’s aware Chad is not implicated in Charles Vallow’s death or the attempted murder of Brandon Boudreaux. Heideman says that’s correct.

9:05 a.m. Blake has no further questions for Heideman. Prior will now cross-examine.

9:01 a.m. There was a search on Sept. 30, 2019 – “how to get the back seat out of my Jeep Wrangler; Jeep Wrangler JK Rear Seat Removal How to DIY – YouTube.” On Oct. 2, 2019, there was a search for “gilbert az news” and on Oct. 22, 2019 – three days after Tammy Daybell died – there was a search for “wedding dresses, wedding dresses in Kauai.” and

9 a.m. There were a lot of searches for information on service dogs and selling service dogs on July 26, 2019. On Aug. 25, 2019, there was a search for “wedding bands made of malachite.” There were searches for Kennedy Elementary (the school JJ attended in Rexburg) on Sept. 20 and 24, 2019.

8:57 a.m. The next slide shows searches from lollytime4ever@gmail.com between March 7, 2019 – Dec. 14, 2019. The first search, on May 7, 2019, was for “malachite.” There was a search on July 21, 2019 for “life insurance for children – the grow-up plan.” Heideman says, to the best of her knowledge, there was no life insurance on the children.

8:55 a.m. The Chad email account also searched for “hiplos” on June 21, 2019. On July 9, 2019 – the day Charles was shot and killed – there was a search for “when you surprise someone with accusations.” There was a search on Sept. 8, 2019 for “ssw wind, what is the definition of ssw direction.” It’s believed Tylee Ryan was killed Sept. 9. The last search, on Oct. 8, 2019, was for “Rhode Island area code.” Heideman says one of the phone numbers belonging to Chad had a Rhode Island area code.

8:54 a.m. On May 5, 2019, there was a search for “malachite, eBay malachite jewelry.” Chad and Lori purchased malachite wedding rings. Learn more about that here.

8:52 a.m. The Chad gmail account searched “Ned Schneider Louisiana obituary 1997” on Jan. 31, 2019. The next search, on March 6, 2019, was about cancer and leo being compatible. Heideman says Lori’s birthday is a cancer and Chad’s birthday makes him a leo.

8:49 a.m. Heideman sayss he reviewed multiple documents, reports and phone data. She learned of the name Ned Snider/Schneider from Chandler and Gilbert Police. Charles Vallow made comments that Lori referred to him as Ned Snider/Schneider. The name also appeared in Lori’s iCloud account in connection to Charles.

8:46 a.m. The first slide shows a summer of search activity from chad.daybell@gmail.com beginning Oct. 1, 2018. On Jan. 28, 2019, the email user searched for Ned Snider 1996 death and other searches revolving around Ned Snider. There was also a search for “bodies possessed after original occupant dies.”

8:43 a.m. Heideman looked at web searches done by Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell. Blake asks to admit a PowerPoint exhibit on a thumb drive.

8:42 a.m. Heideman says the case of the missing children quickly expanded into the deaths of Tammy Daybell and Charles Vallow, as well as the attempted shooting of Brandon Boudreaux.

8:40 a.m. Jurors take their seats. Boyce reminds everyone in the courtroom to follow the conduct order. He says a few members of the public did not comply yesterday and were not able to come back in the afternoon.

8:36 a.m. Boyce is on the bench. State and defense are ready. Heideman takes the stand. Fremont County Prosecuting Attorney Lindsey Blake will continue questioning Heideman.

8:31 a.m. Chad Daybell just walked in. He’s wearing khaki pants, a dress shirt and tie. He does not have on handcuffs or leg shackles but appears to be wearing an ankle monitor on his right leg.

8:26 a.m. We are back in the courtroom. People in the gallery are seated. Prosecutors are at their table, John Prior is at his table but Chad Daybell is not in the courtroom yet. FBI Tactical Specialist Nicole Heideman will be back on the stand this morning.
I saved this thread for last last night and tried to catch up first on all others and by the time I came here ws wiped. But read part of this starting coverage of tweets and just finished this post this morn. And I've woke up tired, coming off one heck of a work week and tired and drained and no coffee yet but some takeaways with my very tired brain.

I don't know if it is Nate's way of tweeting, this is Nate right? And I LOVE NATE but it always sounds as if Prior is testifying and making statements to the person on the stand and attorneys are not to do that. Since I haven't gotten to watch much at all, not sure and it may be just Nate quickly saying Prior says this and says that rather than Prior ASKS? Is anyone watching any part of it? I have not seen Nate or Linda's recap for a day or two now so unsure, and they show some parts of testimony generally.

Another takeaway, we knew Prior was not going to lay down like Archibald and Lori did and not defend and that is exactly what we are seeing.

I don't think they have a hope or a prayer but there may always be I guess that one juror. What is funny though is how people think that is an acquittal and it is not, it is simply a hung jury if that occurs and I don't think there is a chance here. There is sooooo much against him. And if not on one charge, then on another, butk I believe on all.

I could cite a lot more up from this one but this is ridiculous.

Prior shows the slide of the chad.daybell@gmail.com searches. Prior asks Heideman if we know for sure Chad did the searches. She says no – she doesn’t know
for sure that it was Chad typing in the searches but someone with access to his account. Prior asks Heideman if she’s aware 3-4 other people were living in Chad’s house at the time.

Who lived in Chad's house at the time other than I'd guess Tammy and some of his own kids? A dead woman and kids who are going to testify and lie for him? They were doing searches for malachite rings and on Ned Schneider etc. as the tweets go up? Etc. Give me a break. How does this dumb remark and question help? And no like in this case of his searches this is not reasonable doubt, what is reasonable is it was Chad searching. Why would his kids be searching for things to hurt dad and if they were it would be to help him find a name for Wh the entity was inhabiting Charles, what kind of ring to get Lori, etc. and it would be more damning. This is damn dumb if you ask me. This bit of questioning.

Don't know that I will fully catch up, I guess we shall see. Have had a week from HE77 starting with this apartment complex and no less than five times trying to reach someone which also involved losing lunch breaks in an attempt to do so, and more and still not answered or resolved. And that's just the one issue I have to deal with. A new $200 pair of shoes that were gotten wrong from a supposedly great place that keeps perfect records on what you bought the last time and feet that killed me these last couple of weeks. And more. As always. NO SLEEP to speak of.

Anyhow I am marginally up on it not from watching full trial coverage but from posts here and seeing all of Nate's and Linda's until not seeing the last two probably of Nate's. And I can tell you flat out only watching covers all because they can only do so much and that includes with Nate being present and tweets. I really wanted this time to hear the witnesses and contexts, voice, impression, etc. but clearly I am not going to get the time to do that.

Anywho I am up mostly on it but not totally. I do take a look at breaks when I get a minute or two (breaks aren't long). Yesterday I went to run an errand at lunch break though so couldn't and get this, I was at a light waiting for a left turn light arrow at a busy intersection and sat through three full rounds behind other cars before it was clear the left turn arrow was not coming up in our direction ever or working. People started flying out of the left turn lane ahead of me and one behind me as I was about to and about getting killed in the process from the high traffic and of course m ore were bottled up behind me that had not realized yet. I looked for an opportunity where I would not get killed finally got out and went a block and waited to go left to do a turn around but was on a curve with traffic winging around and coming fast, it was a freaking nightmare. I got back to work just in time to run in on time and not be late on an errand that should have taken 15 minutes tops. Off topic I know but man this has been one heck of an awful week. And never completed the errand it was all I could do to hope to get back on time. And I BARELY DID. When I did some time later I actually ran into a city worker using the city charge account and I told him I am sure it is not your job BUT THE LIGHT down by WALLY WORLD has a left turn arrow NOT WORKING and filled him in. Has anyone ever encountered this? I never have. Every other direction of lights and left turns were working and the full cycle worked every time except the wine in the direction I was going with the left turn.

I walked into the apartment yesterday and heard a noise after this horrid last week to find that Snit was choking/gagging and whatever it was about he couldn't get it out. I went into total fear that he had been like this all day and it was something more than the norm and started patting hard on the back to help and it went on and on and I thought what now... Because it wasn't like the occasional puking cats do and it went on and on and on and on. Figured it was more than the norm. I had not even sat down yet and it went on forever but ended with the normal of here came cat food and he was fine. Argggghhhhh. And I buy GOOD cat food. Maybe I should buy the cheaper sh*t I swear.

VERY VERY OFF TOPIC but just saying and giving a couple of examples of 50 more that it has been one HECKUVA week. My taxes are not done and I thought using and paying a firm with several CPAS would assure that. Not the case. I need to get back to the dentist big time and that is on hold as my next two days off I need to go travel and lose those days off to meet with realtors and get my place up for sale which I had HOPED to not do and do something else with and so on.

And then there is work.... Many changes...

It has just been a particular week from HE77 and generally before and after work I try to catch up and relax a bit doing so but not this week so much with those few tired hours. There is a lot more but I will leave it, it belongs like in the basement which I have no time to do these days if I want to stay up on cases and YT coverage on them and I can't even do that lately.

Chad is going down. Prior can do all he likes but short of a really stupid juror hold out he is. I do think he will help point out though how guilty Mel G and Mel P and some others are but he is centered on Mel G for a reason. Their encounter I hope to see. He got to her in about one minute flat and had her baring her teeth and showing her true colors in about one minute flat at the preliminary or prob cause or whatever it was. It was not even a TASTE of what is to come. She immediately became defensive which a witness should never do and showed her other side. Her true nature if you ask me and not that calm nicely nice way so many in this religion act. Sorry if that is not PC but I see it all of the time. In case after case after case. And not hearing much about Mel P here and unsure why. So far anyhow....

Sorry for the ramble. Coffee has been down for some minutes but need to get up and get a cup. And hope it starts helping me navigating this day off that will not be a day off as usual as I first deal with this stupid apt. complex and their morons.

So it seem they don't know exactly where JJ died. So it may be difficult to determine if Alex or Chad killed him, unless there is DNA evidence.

From the testimony above -

For me I don't think we know where either child died or exactly when or which person actually put their hands on and killed them and it doesn't matter. The conspiracy is clear to me. I lean towards Chad. Could be Alex of course with Chad directing and not getting his hands dirty and could be Lori as well and so on. Or a combo.

Tammy is clearly Chad or at minimum Chad. They had to go with arguing her cause of death in that one because he cannot remove himself. It iis also interesting how that one went from car accident to shooting attempt to then a murder at home in the marital bed and Chad so sure he was so good and wellt thought of it wouldn't even be looked at twice. And it wasn't... Until....

Big mistake.

1/2 cup of coffee so far just starting to hit me....

Today continued. I don't really know why they are going into such detail regarding Charles' murder as that is going to have it's own trial in Az and Chad is not a suspect in that, well not yet anyway.

Live updates continued.

12:02 p.m. Boyce says the hearing will happen at 1:05 p.m. and the jury can be back in the courtroom at 1:30 p.m. Blake will argue for the prosecution, Prior will argue for the defense. Be back in an hour.

12 noon Prior says his intention of calling Wood is to be used as impeachment evidence. Boyce says items can be sealed to preserve the rights of a fair trial and a lot of work went into finding an impartial jury for this case. Boyce says the companion case has already gone through trial and we already have a jury so the hearing this afternoon will not be sealed.

11:58 a.m. Blake argues the motion should be sealed as there are concerns. You can read their filing here. Prior says the jury has been seated so there shouldn’t be any concerns.

11:56 a.m. Boyce says a motion in liming was filed yesterday by prosecutors. It says John Prior plans to call Rob Wood as a witness and the state is opposed. That hearing will happen after the lunch break. Right now is the hearing to determine whether the hearing after lunch will be sealed and closed to the public.

11:54 a.m. Boyce dismisses jurors for lunch but we will now have a motion hearing before the public goes to lunch.

11:52 a.m. Attorneys are having a sidebar with the judge in chambers.

11:51 a.m. The total price is close to $2,000 with all the fees. Chad says he’s going to call one or two other funeral homes. The call ends.

11:49 a.m. The call continues with the funeral director. Chad says he’s just starting the process of helping the family with the cremation and needs a price. The lady tells him cremations are $1,695 and it includes transportation to the crematory and other fees. She lists out other fees.

11:47 a.m. The lady asks for Chad’s number. He says he doesn’t know and needs to look. The operator asked if he passed away in a nursing home, hospital or residence. Chad says he died in a hospital but doesn’t know the details. The lady asks what city in Louisiana. Chad says New Orleans. The call is then transferred to the director.

11:45 a.m. Blake plays the call. Chad says he just had a death in the family and they don’t want anything but a cremation. He says they want to send the cremains to the family in Louisiana. He asks for a simple cremation and asks the price. The operator asks for the callers name. He says, “Chad Daybell.” DABEL is how he spells his last name. The lady asks how he is related to hte person who died. He says he’s his nephew and lives in Iowa. She asks for the name of the uncle. He says, “John Myron DABEL.”

11:42 a.m. Blake asks if Duncan was contacted about a call made to a mortuary in Arizona. He was. It was the Valley of the Sun Mortuary. Blake asks to admit the phone call made from Chad to the mortuary. You can listen here.

11:41 a.m. Chad responded to the email saying he would be able to come and to let the wards know. Duncan does not know whether Chad went to Texas.

11:40 a.m. The email came from a kkwalker Yahoo account, which was linked to Lori. The email was sent from the area of Katy, Texas, where Lori was staying at the time.

11:38 a.m. We now see an email sent on April 21, 2019. It is purportedly from Karen at AVOW. The letter is inviting Chad to come and speak at a youth conference in Houston about the temple. The lady says 400 kids will be attending and she wants him to come speak about his book. “Is there any chance you could come? A high councilman is currently the main speaker but he says he would be happy to let you speak in his place.” The letter offers Chad a flight and place to stay.

11:36 a.m. Duncan says he never saw any indication of grief about the loss of Charles in any of the phone messages he observed.

11:33 a.m. Duncan reads messages between Zulema and Lori. Lori messaged Zulema on May 22, 2019 about Hiplos being a level 4. Lori send another message about going to the truck and hovering over it. More messages. Zulema says she was given instructions to “rip, tar or burn the aura of Hiplos to let the body energy out.” Chad sends a message to Zulema saying Mother Earth is grateful for Lori and Zulema. He offers to give Zulema a blessing on July 11 after saying “it’s crazy about Charles but such a relief.”

11:30 a.m. Blake asks Duncan if he reviewed content from Zulema Pastenes’ phone. He did. Zulema was married to Alex. Duncan says the content on her phone was “voluminous.” Blake asks to admit an exhibit showing the content of Zulema’s phone.

11:28 a.m. We now see a text that Alex sent to Lori on Sept. 3, 2019. Alex to Lori: “Network name is anti-laman pw is 2many kids.” Lori to Alex: “Funny!!” The last known sighting of Tylee was around Sept. 8 and the last known sighting of JJ was around Sept. 22.

11:26 a.m. We now see a message from Chad to Lori on July 26, 2019. It’s the Harry Potter text:

lori text

11:25 a.m. At the time Charles was killed, Lori believed she was getting insurance money. The next message was sent from Lori to Chad on July 18, 2019. “So I talked to the insurance scompany. He changed it in March. So it was probably Ned before we got rid of him. They can’t tell me to who of course but it’s done. I still get the 4000 a month from SS.” SS stands for Social Security.

11:24 a.m. Chad writes, “It will be interesting if it got changed after he had two bullets in his chest.” As Duncan is reading these messages, Chad Daybell stares up the screen and does not show much of a reaction.

11:22 a.m. We now see text messages between Lori and Chad on July 18, 2019. Lori sent Chad a message saying she got a letter from the insurance company saying she is not the beneficiary. “It’s a spear through my heart. Who do you think he changed it to? Brandon? Or probably Kay?” Chad responds, “Wow. That’s terrible. There is no way to find out?” Lori to Chad: “Nope.” They go back and forth with Chad saying, “I love you. This is terrible but it is probably another step in bringing down the Gadiantons, especially Brandon.”

11:20 a.m. The next slide shows there were messages between Chad and Lori the morning of July 11 – the day of Charles’ death – but there is no content of what the actual texts were. There is a record they occurred but we don’t know what they said. One is sent at 6:12 a.m., another at 7:01 a.m., another at 7:33 a.m. Charles arrived at the home that morning around 7:30 a.m. based on location data on his phone.

11:20 a.m. These messages were sent two days before Charles died. Charles and Adam were planning an intervention based on the disturbing things Lori was doing and saying.

11:17 a.m. We now see a slide showing Lollytime@iCloud.com. It was created on July 1, 2019. The next slide shows a text from Lori to Alex on July 9, 2019. “So the plot thickens. Call me when u can.” On July 9, 2019, she sends another message to Alex about how he needs her to stay close to him and “they” are planning some kind of intervention. “Thank you for standing by me. It’s al coming to a head this week. I will be like Nephi I am told! And so will you.”

11:15 a.m. The message indicates that Lori was unaware Tammy had passed away, even though she had communicated with Nicole earlier in the day about the death. We now see a text from Nov. 22, 2019 from Lori to Colby Ryan, her son. “I text Ty to send it but I haven’t heard back yet. She will probably just do it before she tells me. Hope you got the Venmo. Ty said she sent it late. I’ll call you when I get a break.” Tylee had been dead for over two months at this point.

11:14 a.m. We now see a message from Melanie Gibb to Lori on the same day saying, “I heard what happened to Chad’s wife. Oh my gosh.” Lori responded, “Hello What?”

11:13 a.m. Duncan reads a message from a lady named Nicole to Lori on Oct. 19, 2019 saying Chad’s wife had died. Lori says, “Oh my gosh! I’m in Hawaii.” The lady asks Lori what happened and Lori says Tammy woke up in the night coughing, threw up, collapsed and passed away.”

11:12 a.m. Duncan says through his investigation, Charles was designated as Garrett and Hiplos. He says the phrase “it’s a new one” refers to a new dark spirit that had entered his body.

11:07 a.m. Boyce says the PowerPoint can be admitted. The presentation shows what was found on the Lori4style account and phone numbers associated with her. The first slide shows messages between Lori and Alex in March 2019 about Ned being gone. Alex messages Lori about getting rid of Ned and Ned still being alive. Lori responds at one point saying “it’s not Ned” and “It’s a new one.”

11:04 a.m. Duncan says he reviewed Lori’s iCloud accounts – lori4style and lollytime. There was a significant amount of information in those accounts. Duncan has an exhibit that caught his attention about what was in her accounts. Blake asks to admit the exhibit.

11:02 a.m. After this text exchange, communication ceased on Charles’ phone. He was shot and killed right after these messages were sent.

11 a.m. There is back and forth between Charles and Lori about the fake letter found on Charles’ phone. The next slide shows messages between Charles and Adam Cox around 7:30 a.m. the day Charles was shot. The messages show they were both concerned as Alex was at Lori’s house.

10:58 a.m. Duncan was not aware of any divorce proceedings between Charles and Lori around this time but there was indication they had separated and were living in different locations. The next slide shows more messages founds on Charles’ devices. These are text messages between Charles and Lori. He tells Lori he’s going to Idaho to meet with Tammy. Lori says Tammy won’t listen to him as she is her friend.

10:56 a.m. The next slide is a message from Charles to Lori on June 3, 2019. He confronts Lori about the affair and says, “There really is something wrong with you. You have to be exposed for what you are,” he says. He tells her lying has become second nature to her and has blamed him for everything.

10:55 a.m. Duncan now reads an email Charles sent to Chad. He confronts Chad about the fake email about Charles wanting to write a book and come visit. “Either you or Lori need to tell me what’s going on or this will be exposed for all to see. Regards, Charles Vallow,” he wrote. Then he adds, “And does your wife know you have several of Lori’s dance videos? She sent them to you at your request in January. Explain how that is in any way appropriate.”

10:54 a.m. Duncan reads another email. The subject says “Your husband and my wife…” and then the body says, “are having an affair. I have definite proof. If you care to see it, contact me.” Duncan was not able to determine whether Tammy ever saw the emails.

10:52 a.m. Duncan says there is no evidence Charles tried to visit Tammy in person. We now see an email Charles sent Tammy’s work email on June 29, 2019. Charles says he has some “vital and disturbing” information about her husband and his wife. “I apologize to be the one sending this but something has to be done. I feel it’s best if I shed some light on this issue,” he wrote.

10:50 a.m. Blake asks Duncan if he learned Charles tried to make contact with Tammy. He says Charles did send emails to Tammy but there is no indication she looked at the emails or received them. We now see more messages from Charles to Lori. He tells Lori he has emailed Tammy and “their game is up.” He later texts, “Please stop spending money on the credit cards. I appreciate it.”

10:49 a.m. Charles tells Lori in another text that he has Tammy Daybell’s email address and he will email her. He tells Lori “he better explain.” Charles sends another text saying he has Tammy’s cell and Lori has until noon to explain or he will email and text Tammy.

10:47 a.m. Blake asks Duncan if Lori had brothers named Alex and Adam. Duncan says she did. He says Adam was never a suspect in this investigation but Alex was. The next slide shows messages between Charles and Lori. Charles confronts Lori about the affair in the texts and calls Lori evil.

10:46 a.m. Blake asks Duncan if he was aware of other investigations as he was working on Charles’ case. He says he was aware of Tammy’s death, the attempted shooting of Brandon Boudreaux and the missing kids.

10:45 a.m. Duncan says this was a document that Charles said he found on Lori’s computer. This was the first letter where he suspected Lori was having an affair with Chad. “All indications in Charles’ phone is this letter was fictitious and not created by him,” Duncan says.

10:44 a.m. The email says Charles will pay Chad well to be his ghostwriter. He asked Chad to come visit him for a few days to talk about the book project and the publishing business.
Man am I behind and I may give up. Regardless just read all of this and it is very clear the numerous reasons they are going into this about Charles and showing the conspiracy and cahoots thing with Chad and all. it is also showing Chad as the ringleader. I don't have the time or energy or brain cells right now but just one example of MANY is when Lori tells Alex she is "told" they will be like nephri or nephi or whoever and it is almost there is just one example of many. Who told her this? Chad of course. There is a ton in here and many other examples. Chad may not be charged with Charles' death but it shows he was well aware and part of it all. We knew ak lot of this but either I forget or some is new in the texts etc. they are showing, even with Zulema and so on...

It shows Chad was no man led around by his Storm by Lori. It shows he WAS part of and the leader most likely in ALL of it. Many a time throughout this testimony/these tweets. Imo.

I don't know if I have it in me to catch up this way or time. I realized this one is Tues and not Wed. And a new day on us. My stinking life. I may have to just do some Nate summaries and leave it at that, and Linda. IF I have time for that.

Anyhow Charles may seem unrelated because this trial is not about Charles but there is a ton in there showing the overall connection and conspiracy/ies.

10:10 a.m. Interesting development during this break. Those of us in the gallery were held back and reminded to follow courtroom conduct rules because a phone alarm went off this morning. As Melanie Gibb was in the hallway for the break, a lady waiting in line to get inside tells me a man ran after Gibb to serve her with papers. Gibb refused to take it and John Prior came out of the courtroom saying, ‘Where is he? Where is he?’ Prior then told Gibb she has to take the papers. The prosecutors came out and said she can’t be served a subpoena while on the stand. It appears Prior wants Gibb as a defense witness too.
10:30 a.m. We are back in the courtroom. All of the attorneys have been summoned to Judge Boyce’s chambers.

NOW WHAT is Prior doing? Good grief. I thought there was a time limit on how long you could subpoena witnesses. And for crying out loud, Prior didn't think of Gibb before NOW?

Thursday 18th Apr updates. ( I will put dates on these now.)

LIVE UPDATES FROM THE CHAD DAYBELL TRIAL

Excuse the typos – these are live updates from the courtroom

11:50 a.m.
Lori says Gibb feels guilty about being with someone before she is divorced. Gibb says, “Honey, that’s not what we are talking about here.” Lori says Jesus Christ is protecting her and will protect her against the accusations Gibb has made against her. Lori hangs up.

11:49 a.m. Gibb says Lori’s behavior is not one of someone who believes in Christ. Lori says Gibb sounds “pissed off,” Gibb responds, “I am troubled. These things – like you being with Chad before he’s even divorced.” Lori says, “I was never with him and he was never divorced.” Gibb says, “Honey, I’ve seen you guys together.”

11:47 a.m. Gibb tells Lori her salvation is in trouble with the Lord. Lori says she needs to check with the Lord again because her salvation is not in trouble. Lori says, “I’m sorry you are friends with all these people who are against me.” Gibb says she isn’t friends with any of them – she doesn’t know Kay, she doesn’t know Chad’s sister-in-law.

11:45 a.m. Gibb and Lori are arguing about scriptures and Gibb tells Lori she has opened dark portals and “dark junk.” Lori says the Lord has her back. Gibb says she’s trying to find JJ and she’s asking where JJ is. Lori says she can say where JJ is but that would not be best for JJ. Lori says she would never ask Gibb not to protect her children.

11:44 a.m. Lori tells Gibb she will be accountable for the knowledge she has. Gibb says, “So will you.” Gibb says she was reading the story of Korihor and his carnal and natural desires. Lori says, “You think I’m Korihor? Are you kidding me right now?” Gibb says both Chad and Lori had similarities to Korihor. Lori says she lives by the scriptures and Gibb says she feels Lori has “rested” the scriptures. Lori is upset Gibb would say this.

11:42 a.m. Chad says he’s known for years that Tammy would die at a young age and his life will have two segments. Chad says Tammy is on a special mission and she has visited his kids. He tells Gibb she has to have faith in the master plan. Gibb says, “You can understand my concern, correct?” Chad says from an outsider’s perspective, he can but David (her boyfriend) seems to be putting doubts in her mind.

11:42 a.m. Lori says Christ is coming soon and Gibb will know that Lori has not been deceived. Chad now comes onto the call and says his sister-in-law (Heather Daybell) has been deceived and coming up with theories. Chad says his own children said Tammy had been getting weaker and sick, her heart was failing her and she was physically falling apart.

11:41 a.m. Gibb says Tammy died, Charles died. Gibb says she has never had peace about all this and she has felt weird in her stomach. Lori responds, “You know me, Mel. This sounds like you have been influenced by somebody dark who wants you to believe dark things and have fear of the celestial world.”

11:40 a.m. Lori tells Gibb she did what the Lord told her to do and Gibb can have this confirmed to her from the Lord. Gibb tells Lori she has been very deceived by Satan and Satan has tricked her.

11:38 a.m. Lori tells Gibb darkness is knocking on the door all the time and says, “I promise you I have done nothing wrong in this case but sometimes you have to hide in the cavity of a rock.” Lori says Kay is dark because she changed the life insurance policy with Charles. Lori says she doesn’t know why Gibb is being “controversial” with her and says she loves Gibb. Gibb says, “If you really loved me, you would not have told the police I had JJ with me.”

11:37 a.m. On the call, Lori mentions Alma and Moroni, Book of Mormon prophets. Lori says they had to “hide in the cavity of a rock by day and go out by night.” Gibb reads a scripture to Lori about not fearing men more than God and being faithful. Gibb says if the door is open to Satan, he comes in and attacks. “God doesn’t work in darkness,” Gibb says. Lori responds, “I agree 100% and that is what the Lord is doing with me.”

11:35 a.m. Lori says the police are working with Kay in “some dark capacity” and there is no reason for them to be after her. Lori says Kay has threatened her. Gibb says she’s worried for Chad and Lori because JJ is missing. Lori says, “I know exactly where he is. He’s safe.” Gibb wants to share a scripture with Lori.

11:33 a.m. Gibb says she asked Alex Cox where JJ was. He said he was somewhere and could not be found. Lori says she doesn’t want anyone to know where JJ is so nobody has to be questioned about it. Gibb asks Lori how long she will be away. Lori says she will do whatever the Lord needs her to do every day.

11:31 a.m. Gibb asks Lori why she told the police JJ was with her. “I just needed to have somebody so I wouldn’t have to tell him where he really was because they were going to tell Kay.” Gibb asks if JJ is safe. Lori responds, “He is safe and happy.” Gibb asks how it could hurt her if she knew where JJ is. Lori responds: “I’m just not telling anybody so that nobody has to say where he is or get questioned where he is so I can keep him as safe as possible.”

11:28 a.m. Blake is now playing the call. Chad answers, “Hello, sweet Melanie.” Gibb asks Chad and Lori where they are. Chad giggles and says, “We’re just hanging out.” They don’t say where they are. Gibb asks Lori what happened with JJ and why isn’t he at Kay’s house. Lori doesn’t answer the question but says people are after her. Chad says, “If you knew where JJ was, that puts you in danger.” Chad and Lori won’t say where JJ is because Lori wants to keep him and everyone else protected.

11:23 a.m. Gibb called Chad and Lori on Dec. 8, 2019. She recorded the call. Blake moves to admit the call. You can listen here:

11:20 a.m. Gibb told police JJ had never been with her. After Thanksgiving, Gibb and David called Chad and Lori. They asked where JJ was. Chad and Lori would not tell her. Gibb spoke with Alex a day or two after Thanksgiving and told him her concerns about JJ. Gibb and Alex were walking with Melani Pawlowski in a field. Gibb asked Alex, “Do I want to know here JJ is?” Alex said no and proceeded to tell her about the police coming to his apartment.

11:18 a.m. Gibb says the day she was going to talk with the police, she got a call from an old friend who is an attorney. Gibb says she told her friend about the situation and the attorney suggested a welfare check be done. The attorney reached out to police and requested a welfare check. Gibb was concerned about the welling of JJ and Tylee. Gibb sat down with law enforcement and says “I told them everything” without an attorney present.

11:17 a.m. Gibb says Alex told her law enforcement were considered dark translated beings. Gibb says Chad determined who was dark. Gibb did not initially answer the call from the police. She says she didn’t know what to do. She ended up calling Gilbert police. She said she had JJ but no longer had him and he was back with Lori.

11:15 a.m. Gibb said to Chad, “JJ isn’t with Kay?” Chad said no. He told her Lori would be calling her but she was talking to the police. Lori later called Gibb and was very positive and upbeat. She said she was protecting JJ and Tylee because Kay and others were trying to kidnap him. Gibb says Lori told her to go to a Frozen movie and take pictures of other kids to make it look like Melanie had him.

11:14 a.m. In Nov. 2019, two or three days before Thanksgiving, Chad called Gibb when she was in Utah. Chad told Gibb the Rexburg police were going to call her and ask about JJ. He asked her not to pick up the phone. He said Lori told the police Gibb had JJ. Gibb says Chad sounded nervous on the phone.

11:13 a.m. The morning after Gibb last saw JJ, Lori said JJ was with Alex. Lori later told Gibb that she met up with Kay in the Salt Lake City airport and Kay took JJ.

11:11 a.m. Gibb says Lori told her she was going to meet Kay in an airport and give JJ to him. Lori was throwing out different ideas of how she could convince Kay to take JJ. Lori told Gibb she contacted Kay and Lori said she gave JJ to Kay. Kay and Larry Woodcock are in the courtroom this morning.

11:10 a.m. Blake asks Gibb if she knows if Lori ever received life insurance following Charles Vallow’s death. Gibb doesn’t think so. Gibb says Lori never told her about having a job in Idaho. Lori shared with Gibb that JJ was acting out more and was acting like he was possessed the weekend Gibb visited. Lori seemed troubled that JJ had been taken over by an evil spirit. Lori told Gibb she wanted Kay Woodcock, JJ’s grandmother, to take JJ.

11:09 a.m. Gibb never saw JJ again.

11:07 a.m. That night David woke up with a panic after having a nightmare. Gibb says he was very disturbed by the dream. Gibb called out to get help from Lori and/or Chad to ask for a priesthood blessing. Gibb texted or called Chad but he didn’t respond. Gibb says this was in the early morning hours. Gibb texted and called Lori. She didn’t answer. Gibb went to Lori’s room but it was locked.

11:06 a.m. Lori said Sept. 22 was a special day for her – it was the anniversary of when she saw Moroni in the temple. Gibb recalls recording a podcast on Sept. 22 with Lori and David. Alex walked in the door holding JJ on the shoulder. Alex was taking JJ to bed. JJ often slept in the corner of his mom’s room in a little bed. He also had his own bedroom. JJ did not sleep in his bedroom that night because she was in JJ’s room.

11:05 a.m. During the walk around the BYU-Idaho track, Chad and Lori were very affectionate and loving toward each other. Gibb asked if they were concerned Tammy might see them together. Lori said Tammy was not aware of his personal life like that – where he went. There was no indication of divorce or separation.

11:03 a.m. Gibb observed affection and loving with Chad and Lori. She kissed him on the cheek. They sang together and danced a little. Gibb recalls walking around the BYUI campus and Chad and Lori were holding hands. Prior has objected a few times but his microphone is off so it’s hard to hear.

11:01 a.m. Tammy was still alive at this time. Gibb heard Chad talk a little about Tammy. David asked Chad about Tammy that weekend. Chad asked David not to tell anyone about his relationship with Lori. Chad said Tammy was a good wife, according to Gibb. Gibb never heard Chad say anything about getting a divorce.

10:59 a.m. Gibb says she arrived on Wednesday. The next day, JJ was upset and Chad took him upstairs. After some time, Chad came back downstairs holding his hand. Chad had a red scratch on his neck. Gibb asked what happened and Chad said JJ had scratched him. Gibb had not seen interactions between Chad and JJ before that time.

10:58 a.m. Lori spoke to Gibb about JJ. Lori said the day before Gibb arrived, JJ became dark. Lori had previously told Gibb that Tylee was dark. Gibb didn’t observe any behaviors from JJ that caused her concern. Several of the jurors are taking notes.

10:57 a.m. Gibb never saw Tylee in Idaho. She asked Lori where Tylee was and Lori says her daughter was at BYU-Idaho with her roommates. Lori didn’t talk about Tylee again. Gibb stayed in Tylee’s room but there was nothing in there. Just furniture.

10:56 a.m. Gibb visited Lori the weekend of Sept. 22, 2019. There was a conference in Rexburg and Gibb was going to record a podcast with Lori. They had recorded podcasts with each other before. Gibb flew to Idaho and stayed at her house. When they arrived at the home, Alex and JJ were there. Occasionally Chad would come over. David Warwick, her boyfriend at the time, was also there. Warwick and Gibb are now married.

10:54 a.m. Lori was in Hawaii and not at the conference. After Lori moved to Idaho, Gibb spoke to Lori on the phone right after they moved in. Lori was in her apartment playing games with Alex and Tylee. Gibb heard Tylee in the background.

10:52 a.m. Lori told Gibb she needed to go to Idaho to be with Chad. Lori told Gibb Tylee was dark at some point. Blake asks who gave Lori that information. “I’m guessing it was Chad,” Gibb says. Gibb says she once saw Chad with a pendulum to get his answers – it was gold and had a string. It was in February 2019 in Boise. Gibb was here for a conference. Chad, Zulema, Sarina and Audrey and other people were at the conference.

10:50 a.m. When Lori was Elaina, Chad was James – one of the apostles of Jesus – in a previous life. Lori learned this information from Chad, Gibb says. Gibb says Chad would sit in his portal and ask questions to get his information. Gibb saw Lori’s portal. “It was nothing but a spot in her closet. It didn’t look like anything. It looked like a regular space,” Gibb says. Gibb says Chad told her and taught her about the portal.

10:48 a.m. Lori contacted Chad daily, according to Gibb. Blake asks about names Chad had in prior lives. Gibb doesn’t remembers names but remembers that Lori was married to Moroni, James and she was Chad’s wife but he was James and she was Elaina. Chad was considered to be Methuselah and she was his daughter. Another time she was a lady who was married to a relative of Joseph Smith.

10:46 a.m. Gibb spoke with Lori about why Chad didn’t get a divorce. Chad told Lori that if he got a divorce, he would lose his exaltation. Charles started divorce proceedings, according to Blake. Lori says she saw Lori with three phones – one was her personal phone, the other phone was just for Chad and Gibb is unsure about the third phone.

10:45 a.m. Lori told Gibb that every time she got together with Chad, she would ask Jesus what was acceptable and appropriate about what activities to do with Chad. If she felt it was ok, she would meet up with Chad at hotels.

10:43 a.m. Blake continues with her questioning of Gibb. Prior to Charles’s death, Gibb says she had conversations with Lori about her relationship with Chad. Gibb says Lori told her they really loved each others, they had missions together and multiple lives. There was physical affection and contact.

10:41 a.m. Chad and Prior are both staring at Gibb. Gibb has her back toward them from the stand and is looking at the empty juror seats.

10:40 a.m. The attorneys have walked into the courtroom. Judge takes the bench and asks for jurors to be brought back in.

10:34 a.m. Gibb is sitting on the stand. Chad is sitting at the defense table staring down.

10:30 a.m. We are back in the courtroom. All of the attorneys have been summoned to Judge Boyce’s chambers.

9:58 a.m. We are now headed to our morning break. Be back in 30 minutes.

9:57 a.m. Chad and Lori were super excited to be together. They were talking to several people at the kitchen table and were excited to share their future plans together. There were no signs of grief from Chad. Tammy was still alive. In the courtroom, Chad leans over to Prior and whispers something in his ear.

9:55 a.m. Gibb spoke with Lori about four days after Charles was killed. Gibb says there was no sign of sadness or grief. Lori seemed happy. When Gibb spoke with Alex, she says he seemed thoughtful and unsure of himself. Gibb saw Chad a few weeks after Charles died. Chad was in Arizona at Lori’s house.

9:54 a.m. After Charles was killed, Gibb says Lori told her Charles came in from Texas and she grabbed his cell phone. He was really upset and Tylee grabbed a bat to protect her mom or herself. Alex went into his room to get a gun to defend himself and then shot Charles, Gibb recalls.

9:53 a.m. Lori told Gibb that Alex was going to protect her. Blake asks if there was anything unusual about Lori and Alex’s relationship. She says they were very close but nothing unusual. Gibb says Alex was designated as Lori’s protector. “His mission in life was to protect Lori – that’s why he came here.” She says Chad told Lori this about Alex.

9:52 a.m. Gibb started to believe that Charles might be possessed. She had met him a few times but did not know him well. Most of what she knew about Charles came from Lori. In July 2019, Gibb stayed and Lori’s house but Lori asked her to leave. “I woke up early in the morning and told me I needed to leave because Charles was driving in from Texas and was going to kill her,” Gibb says.

9:51 a.m. The casting Chad attended happened in Arizona, Gibb says. Chad shakes his head no (in the courtroom) and writes notes down on a pad in front of him.

9:50 a.m. The castings started in Jan./Feb 2019 until before Charles died. If the casting was successful, the body would naturally expire, according to Gibb. Blake asks if she was ever told violence would be done to the body. “Never,” Gibb says. Gibb says others were involved in the castings more than her – people like Lori and Zulema. They knew the most about it, Gibb says.

9:49 a.m. Gibb had met Brandon and Brandon was designated as dark, according to Lori who learned it from Chad. Blake asks if castings were ever done on Tammy. Gibb says yes. Blake asks if castings were done on JJ and Tylee. Gibb does not recall.

9:47 a.m. Gibb says there were additional castings in relation to Charles. Gibb participated. They tried to cast the next evil spirit out of Charles and it worked, according to Lori. Lori said she received this information from Chad. Nothing happened to Charles and then another entity came into his body. Lori learned about this from Chad, Gibb says. Chad was present for some of the castings, Gibb says. Another casting was done on Brandon Boudreaux. Chad was present and so was Gibb. Chad shakes his head no.

9:45 a.m. Blake asks about castings and if Gibb was ever there for a casting. She was. She describes the ladies would stand in a circle. Some would say a prayer, some would send spiritual weapons. The people who were having the spirits cast of out them were not physically there. Gibb says when they did the casting for Charles, Ned left but another entity incorporated his body, according to Chad.

9:43 a.m. Lori would try to cast the evil spirit out of the body and “try to convince it to leave.” Gibb says Lori got the idea for casting from energy work. Gibb says Charles was designated a different name – Ned Schneider. Chad told Lori that the name was changed. Lori told Gibb about a dream she had when Charles was out of town. Lori says Charles and JJ were not going to come back – they were in a car crash and Charles was killed in the crash. Charles never died in a crash. After this dream, Lori told Gibb Charles turned dark.

9:42 a.m. Lori began telling Gibb about light and dark people in January 2019. The first person who turned dark was Charles. Lori got this information from Chad, according to Gibb. Lori originally told Gibb when a person became dark, their spirit would go into the spirit world but the body was still alive with a dark spirit.

9:40 a.m. Gibb says she had heard of these concepts before but not in the way Chad was teaching them. Gibb was open to learning more about these things. Chad and Lori spoke to Gibb about people switching from light to dark or dark to light. She says some evil entity could enter a person and a light person could become dark. Lori said she got this information from Chad.

9:39 a.m. Lori told other people about light and dark and multiple probations – Zulema, Melanie, Alex Cox and others. Blake asks Gibb if she knows if Chad ever shared teachings and beliefs with those people. Gibb says yes. She was present when he did. Chad is taking notes in the courtroom during Gibb’s testimony.

9:37 a.m. Lori felt her mission was to gather women for the 144,000, according to Gibb. The 144,000 is a Biblical explanation for people who would go out and gather Israel in the last day and have the power to do that, Gibb says. Blake asks where Lori got the belief. Gibb says she got it for herself but Lori shared with Chad who she believed she was. Chad agreed and told her that’s what her mission was.

9:36 a.m. In regards to multiple probations, Lori said people lived multiple lives and she would try to figure out when. Lori would ask Chad how many times people had been on the planet or other planets. Lori would then share with Gibb what Chad told her. Blake asks if people were designated with a number and then an “L” or “D” for light or dark. The numbers and letters originated from Chad, Gibb says.

9:34 a.m. Gibb says Lori would often call Chad and Chad would give her information about multiple probations. Lori would then come back and share what she learned with Gibb and another friend. Gibb says Lori shared about “light” and “dark” from Chad. Gibb says if someone was light, they made contracts with Jesus Christ before they came here. If they were dark, they made contracts with Satan. There was a scale level about how light and dark people were.

9:33 a.m. Chad stayed at Lori’s house during the conference. Alex may have stayed at the home but there were no other men there.

9:32 a.m. Charles was out of town. Gibb had read Chad’s book and Lori had read them too. Lori was interested in his books.

9:31 a.m. Lori and Chad talked often with each other at the get-together and they seemed interested at each other. Lori told Gibb that Lori and Chad had been married to each other in previous probations. Lori told Gibb they were going to be resealed in the temple to each other like they had been in previous lives together. Lori told Gibb they had gone to the temple. Charles and Tammy were both still alive.

9:30 a.m. After the conference in October, Gibb saw Chad again the next month at a conference in Arizona. Tammy was not there. Lori was. Outside of the conference, Gibb saw Chad at Lori’s house in Arizona. Blake asks about the gathering. Gibb says a small group of people met before the conference – about 20 – and Lori and her friends were there.

9:29 a.m. Gibb had contact with Lori almost daily. After January 2019, Lori started to move multiple times so it was hard for Gibb to keep in touch with her. They still spoke on the phone.

9:28 a.m. Gibb met Tylee and JJ in Lori’s house. She says Lori and Tylee had a difficult relationship and didn’t get along very well. Gibb says Lori had a lot of affection for JJ but he was autistic and he seemed “very busy for her” (meaning Lori).

9:27 a.m. Blake asks what was discussed during the drive back to Arizona. Gibb says Lori and Chad discussed multiple lives, the fact Lori was married to Moroni in a previous life, multiple probations and more. Gibb says before Lori met Chad, she talked to her about multiple lives. Lori told Gibb Chad gave her additional information at the conference – that they had been married in previous probations. Lori was receptive of the information.

9:26 a.m. Gibb says Lori and Chad were very interested in each other. Lori was married to Charles at the time and Chad was married to Tammy. Gibb had met Charles but never met Tammy. After the conference, Gibb traveled back to Arizona with Lori.

9:25 a.m. I interviewed Melanie Gibb in May 2020. You can watch that here:

9:23 a.m. Chad was selling his books at the conference. Gibb observed Lori and Chad meeting. Gibb walked into the building with Lori and can’t remember if she introduced Lori to Chad or Lori introduced herself. During testimony in the courtroom, Chad glances back and forth from the prosecutor to Gibb.

9:22 a.m. Lori approached Gibb and they started a friendship. A few weeks after they met, they went to St. George, Utah for a religious conference. Around 5-6 people all traveled to the conference in the same vehicle.

9:21 a.m. Lindsey Blake is questioning Gibb. She asks Gibb when she met Chad Daybell. She says they met a get-together on 2017. They spoke but did not keep in touch. Blake asks Gibb where she met Lori. It was in a church building in Oct. 2018.

9:20 a.m. The next witness called by the state is Melanie Gibb.

daybell hear 080420 12

9:19 a.m. Prior has two follow up clarifying questions. Douglass is released from the stand and will not be recalled.

9:18 a.m. Wood asks about the burner phones and Prior asking if they would be a good way to have an affair. Wood follows up by saying, “Would that be a good way to hide a crime?” Douglass says yes. “If someone was having an affair and the mistresses husband dies…and then your wife dies…and you get married ten days later and there are two dead kids found on your property, would that be a reason to buy a burner phone?” Wood asks. Douglass says yes.

9:15 a.m. Wood asks about the text message between Lori and Chad concerning the $4,000 in Social Security. “Mr. Daybell was aware Lori was receiving at least $4,000,” Wood asks. Douglass responds that Chad was.

9:14 a.m. Prior has no further questions for Douglass. Wood has brief re-direct. He asks Douglass if he has seen pictures of Chad and Lori’s wedding. He says yes. Wood asks what kind of rings they are wearing. Douglass says malachite rings.

9:12 a.m. Prior asks about the malachite rings and the fact the order was canceled. Prior asks Douglass if he looked into the size of the wedding rings. The invoice said 8mm – Douglass says that is the width, not the size. Prior asks if Douglass is aware that Alex Cox proposed marriage to Zulema Pastenes. Douglass says he knows they got married but doesn’t know when the marriage took place.

9:10 a.m. Prior asks Douglass if he knows who increased the life insurance. He says he wasn’t there.

9:07 a.m. Prior asks about Tammy’s life insurance policies and says one of them was put in place years ago. Douglass says that wouldn’t surprise him. Douglass says Tammy had $300,000 in life insurance before she started working at the school. Then she started at the school and after a year, she increased her policy.

9:06 a.m. Prior asks Douglass if he knew JJ was with his father while Lori was in Hawaii and mentions that Lori was receiving Social Security money. Douglass says JJ was not getting money at that time – only Tylee was due to the death of her father.

9:04 a.m. Prior asks Douglass if he is aware Lori temporary relocated to Hawaii around Feb. 1, 2019. Douglass says there are transactions that support she was coming and going from Arizona to Hawaii. Prior asks if she was coming and going or if she had relocated. Douglass says he could not prove she relocated.

9:02 a.m. Prior asks Douglass about the south/southwest wind noted on one of his exhibits and says he finds it a little unusual to include that on a financial timeline. “The fact he checked the wind isn’t relevant to Tylee’s financials,” Prior says. Douglass says it is not relevant to the finances. Prior asks why Douglass didn’t mention the fact Chad sent a text to his wife that he was burning limbs the following morning. Douglass says it’s because he didn’t discover that.

9 a.m. Prior confirms other details with Douglass from the timeline. He asks if there are any financial links between Chad and Lori leading up to Tylee’s death. Douglass says there are no accounts linking them together.

8:58 a.m. Prior shows an exhibit displaying JJ’s financial timeline. He asks Douglass if Chad and Lori ever talked financial matters before she texted Chad about not getting the insurance money following Charles Vallow’s death. Douglass says he does have any indication of that.

8:55 a.m. Boyce reminds Prior and the witness not to talk over each other. Prior then talks over the judge and Boyce says, “Mr. Prior – you just talked right over me. Please do not do that.” Prior apologizes. He asks to display an exhibit.

8:53 a.m. Prior reviews other events. He says, “Chad Daybell has nothing to do with the transactions. You’re not trying to imply in this particular exhibit that Chad Daybell had anything to do with Charles Vallow’s death, are you?” Douglass says he built the timeline to show funding sources for Tylee.

8:52 a.m. Chad and Lori met on Oct. 26, 2018 – two days before Lori got the life insurance payment. Prior asks if Lori was anticipating the life insurance check before she met Chad. Douglass says Lori knew about the payment before she met Chad.

8:50 a.m. Prior moves along the timeline to other events in 2018. He asks if Chad knew JJ, Tylee or Lori at this time. Douglass says no. Prior points out Lori receiving a life insurance policy from Joe Ryan on Oct. 28, 2018 of over $64,000.

8:49 a.m. Prior pulls up the exhibit showing Tylee’s financial timeline. It starts with April 3, 2018 – the date of Joe Ryan’s death. Prior asks if Chad knew Lori or Tylee at this time. Douglass says there is no indication that they knew each other.

8:48 a.m. Prior asks if Lori and Chad ever co-mingled their money. Douglass says there is no indication of that.

8:47 a.m. Prior asks Douglass if you are having an affair with another woman, buying one of these phones would be an ideal way to hide it from your spouse. Douglass responds, “If you say so.” Prior says, “I didn’t say so. I’m asking you.” Douglass says sure.

8:45 a.m. Prior asks Douglass why he showed an exhibit showing Chad purchased a phone from Walmart. Douglass says he found it substantial because of the continued pattern of the purchase of cell phones. Prior asks Douglass what type of phone was purchased. Douglass can’t recall but says it’s in his report. Prior asks if it was a disposable phone. Douglass says, “Sure” and says the purchase was inexpensive.

8:42 a.m. The next exhibit is an Etsy record showing a glow in the dark malachite ring was shipped to Lori Vallow but the purchase was refunded to Lori. Douglass is unclear why. Wood has no further questions. Prior will now cross-examine.

8:40 a.m. Tylee was killed on Sept. 10. There were 29 payments after Sept. 10 to Colby Ryan totaling over $5,000.

8:39 a.m. Tylee Venmoed Colby four times during this seven month period for a total of $170, Douglass says. On Sept. 10, 2019, the funding source changed on the account but Venmo activity continued.

8:37 a.m. Wood shows the exhibit on the screen. Douglass says the only funding source for Tylee’s Venmo account was her JP Morgan Chase account until Sept. 2019. From Jan. 7 – Aug. 7, her primary Venmo activity was to Colby Ryan, her older brother, and Kelsee Benson, his girlfriend. Tylee also sent money on Venmo one time to two of her friends.

8:34 a.m. Wood is questioning Douglass. Douglass explains he reviewed Venmo records in relation to Tylee and Lori. Wood asks to admit a timeline of Venmo activity showing Tylee’s account and two accounts belonging to Lori.

8:30 a.m. FBI Forensic Accountant Michael Douglass will be back on the stand this morning. Judge Boyce is on the bench and jurors are being brought in.

8:27 a.m. We are back in the courtroom this morning. Chad Daybell is wearing a checked dress shirt with a golden yellow tie. He is sitting next to John Prior. Fremont County Prosecuting Attorney Lindsey Blake, Madison County Prosecuting Attorney Rob Wood, Fremont County Deputy Prosecutor Rocky Wixom and Special Prosecutor Ingrid Batey are at the prosecution table.

This was interesting to me. I don't remember the part about Gibb walking through a field with Alex and MP discussing the disappearance of the kids. Has MP ever been questioned about this discussion?

LIVE UPDATES FROM THE CHAD DAYBELL TRIAL

Excuse the typos – these are live updates from the courtroom

CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE TRIAL LIVE

3:42 p.m.
Boyce says he has questions for Ratliff. Bartlett says he was told by Boyce’s clerk two days ago that he could represent his client and Boyce is changing his mind.

3:41 p.m. Boyce explains Idaho Rule 11 allows the court to conduct an inquiry on its own initiative and Boyce says he has questions for Ratliff. “You are an attorney who filed something asking me to stop this trial when I don’t think you have any legal standing to do that,” Boyce says. Boyce says Ratliff himself must answers questions, not his attorneys.

3:40 p.m. We are streaming this hearing here:

3:38 p.m. Boyce says Mr. Ratliff must explain how his pleading complies with Idaho law rule 11. Boyce is clearly irritated.

3:37 p.m. Boyce says his staff attorney was notified on Easter Sunday that the motion was had been filed. Boyce says this cause much commotion on Easter Sunday. Boyce notes that “motion,” “continue,” “proceedings” are misspelled. “When I reviewed this, I was angry then and I think I’m angrier now about what you did,” Boyce says.

3:35 p.m. This is an order to show cause hearing. Prior is at the table with Chad Daybell. At the prosecutors table is attorney Terry Ratliff and another attorney named Mr. Bartlett. Bartlett represents Ratliff. Boyce says Ratliff filed his motion to intervene and continue the trial on the Friday before the trial.

3:13 p.m. Prior says in her testimony with the prosecutors, Gibb was very clear in prosecutors and had no memory loss about zombies and dark and light. Gibb says yes. Prior says he has more to go, so Gibb will be back on the stand in the morning. Another hearing will be held in about 15 minutes. This part of the trial is done for today.

3:11 p.m. Gibb tried to get into Lori’s bedroom that night because she and David were alarmed. Gibb went back to sleep and woke up around 7 the following morning. She left the house around 9:30 a.m. Prior asks Gibb if she asked to see JJ before she left. Gibb says it’s possible she asked but doesn’t recalled what she said.

3:10 p.m. After Gibb went to bed, Prior asks if she assumed Lori went to bed and lay down with JJ. Gibb says yes. Gibb doesn’t know where JJ was that night. Prior asks about the nightmare/vision David had. Gibb says it was a “bad experience,” and David was very alarmed and upset by it.

3:09 p.m. During the podcast, Gibb observed Alex carrying JJ with his head on his shoulders. Gibb doesn’t know where Alex put JJ that night. Gibb and David were in JJ’s room. Tylee and JJ’s rooms were close, Lori’s was down the hallway.

3:07 p.m. On Sunday evening, David, Gibb and Lori started recording a podcast around 8-9 p.m. and finished around midnight. Chad was not at the podcast.

3:05 p.m. Gibb recalls going see the property. Chad, a Realtor, Gibb and David were there. Perhaps Alex too. A couple drove by and spoke to the group. Lori was not there. She was at home with her son, Gibb assumes.

3:03 p.m. Prior asks Gibb what Firm Foundation is. She says a few people got together to talk about the Book of Mormon and science. She went to the Firm Foundation conference on Saturday. It was an all=day event. On Sunday, Gibb doesn’t remember anyone going to church. Gibb recalls David and Chad were going to look at some property in the afternoon.

3:01 p.m. Prior says on the recording, Gibb spoke with Lori about the fact she was having a relationship with a married man, and she was a married woman. Gibb says she was referencing a Book of Mormon king who had that type of behavior. Prior asks Gibb if David was still married when they began dating. Blake objects. Boyce sustains.

3 p.m. Gibb says she isn’t 100% clear on how often she saw Chad on the weekend when she was in Rexburg. Gibb recalls seeing Chad either the night she arrived or the next evening.

2:57 p.m. Gibb says it was a difficult moment for her, and that’s what she did. Prior asks if being here today is difficult for Gibb. She says of course it is. Prior says she’s having some struggles because she knows she has information about JJ Vallow and what happened to him. Gibb says to the best of her knowledge, she’s sharing what she knows about it.

2:55 p.m. Prior says Gibb lied to the police about JJ in the beginning when he first went missing. Gibb says, “Sure.” Prior asks how it played out after her initial lie. Gibb says she went to see them personally and told them everything she knew. Prior says the purpose of her going back to the police was to clear up her initial lie. Gibb says no. She felt an obligation was to share with them everything she knew.

2:53 p.m. Prior says when he listens to the tape, Lori’s responses were in the singular. “I had to move her (Tylee).” “I will do whatever the Lord needs me to do.” Prior says Lori’s comments were not “we will” or “they will,” but “I will” in the singular. Gibb says that sounds familiar.

2:52 p.m. Prior asks if before she recorded the call with Lori and Chad, did she contact law enforcement? She says no. Gibb says she has no idea how the conversation was going to flow.

2:51 p.m. Prior asks Gibb is she is relying on what Lori is telling her, and she doesn’t know if what Lori is telling her is the truth. Prior says, “Lori has lied to you before and been untruthful about other things.” Gibb says that’s correct.

2:50 p.m. Prior asks Gibb what portals are. Lori told her it was something she and Chad created by saying a prayer and it was a place they could go to get answers. Prior asks if most of the information was conveyed to her from Lori. Gibb says she didn’t talk to Chad very often and spoke to him around a handful of times.

2:48 p.m. Jurors are back in the courtroom. Prior will continue questioning Gibb. Prior asks Gibb to clarify how light and dark are not within her faith practice. She says not the way Chad and Lori described light and dark. She would not describe someone as light or dark.

2:45 p.m. The jurors are being brought in. This portion of the trial will end at 3:15 p.m. There is another hearing at 3:30 on a motion for another attorney to intervene in the case. You can read more about that here.

2:44 p.m. Prior apparently told a bailiff not to touch his computer. Boyce says the bailiffs are in charge of the courtroom and asks attorneys not to say any editorial comments in front of the jurors. Boyce says the bailiffs have done a fine job in how they have handled the courtroom.

2:41 p.m. Blake says the document published to the jury made reference to grand jury, preliminary hearing and Lori Vallow’s trial. Prosecutors are concerned that Prior showed the item to the jurors. Prior says his notes were unintentionally displayed because he didn’t unplug his HDMI cord.

2:39 p.m. Boyce says the last two defense exhibits were labeled with references that were not appropriate. Boyce says those references need to be removed before they are given to the jury.

2:37 p.m. Boyce says there are some issues that need to be put on the record before jurors come in. He wants to clarify some exhibits that were marked Vallow/Daybell and wants the name “Vallow” redacted in case the jurors think that was in connection to the other case.

2:35 p.m. Break is over, attorneys are in the courtroom and Boyce is on the bench. Blake asks if they can approach. They are huddled in the corner of the courtroom.

2:14 p.m. We are taking a break. Back in 20 minutes.

2:13 p.m. Prior suggests maybe taking an afternoon break. He says he has “a bit to go.” Boyce asks for a sidebar to discuss scheduling.

2:11 p.m. Gibb says at some point, she took JJ to school but doesn’t know exactly when she left or stayed. Prior asks if Gibb had information about Lori’s financial information. Gibb says only what Lori shared with her. Prior asks Gibb if she was aware Lori got life insurance money after Joseph Ryan’s death. Gibb says she is aware.

2:09 p.m. Gibb doesn’t remember how often she was communicating with Lori at this point. Prior asks about an “issue” with Charles, Alex and Lori at the Arizona home. Prior asks about the altercation with a bat and Alex going into his bedroom to get his gun.

2:08 p.m. Prior asks Gibb is she was aware Charles filed divorce proceedings. Gibb is aware. She is also aware that there could have been an attempt at a reconciliation between Charles and Lori.

2:06 p.m. After the end of March 2019, Gibb says Lori went to stay with Alex in Arizona. Prior asks about Lori being in Kauai with Tylee. Prior asks about JJ being with Charles. Gibb says, “I would assume.”

2:05 p.m. Prior asks Gibb if she is suffering with forgetfulness through her testimony today. Gibb says a lot of things they are talking about today she has shared often, so those are things she remembers.

2:04 p.m. Prior asks how often Gibb spoke with Lori in early 2019. Gibb doesn’t remember. Prior asks had she spoken to him earlier than today, she may have been able to recall events easier. Prior asks if Gibb is suffering from forgetfulness today. Gibb says it’s a normal forgetting.

2:03 p.m. Gibb says she didn’t have a relationship with Tylee. Prior says, “You folks didn’t care to be around each other.” Gibb says, “That’s not true.” Prior goes on to say, “Just no relationship.” Gibb says Tylee would not talk with her.

2 p.m. Prior asks Gibb to clarify how often she spoke with Lori. The daily communication stopped as Lori was “moving around.” Prior asks Gibb if Lori moved somewhere in January 2019. She did move from one house to another house in Arizona. Lori then moved to Hawaii around February 2019.

1:59 p.m. Prior apparently just published something on the screen in the courtroom and in front of the jurors. It was very small print and was barely legible. Boyce instructs all the jurors to disregard what was shown.

1:56 p.m. All the attorneys are back and Prior is at the podium. He asks Gibb about where she met Lori. Gibb was teaching a class about health and nutrition. Blake interrupts and asks if they can approach. Sidebar on side of the courtroom again as white noise is played.

1:48 p.m. Prior asks if this was just a coincidence that she was trying to protect the church. Blake objects that the statement is argumentative. Boyce sustains the objection. Prior moves to admit two exhibits. Boyce calls for a sidebar.

1:47 p.m. Prior asks why Gibb sent that to a prosecuting attorney who is prosecuting Chad Daybell. Gibb says she felt comfortable talking to Rob to let him know what she was up to.

1:46 p.m. Prior reads the text Gibb sent to Wood: “Keith, the guy from Dateline, and I want to make sure the church is protected. He has done a good job so far. That’s why I feel comfortable talking with him.”

1:43 p.m. The sidebar is over. The bailiff gives Gibb the message Prior wants her to read to refresh her memory. Prior says in the message that she and Keith Morrison wanted to make sure the church is “protected.” Gibb says it was meant to clarify that these teachings Chad and Lori were engaged in were not consistent with the teachings of the LDS Church.

1:40 p.m. Prior wants to show Gibb a text message on his laptop to help refresh her memory. Blake asks to approach. The attorneys huddle with Boyce in the corner of the courtroom.

1:38 p.m. Prior asks if any time during her communication with Wood she needed to protect a person or organization as part of whether or not she was going to testify. Gibb says her intent was not to protect anything other than to share what she knew.

1:37 p.m. Prior asks Gibb about her text messages between her and Wood. He says, “Would it surprise you to learn that between May 20 and November 4 of 2020 the two of you exchanged text messages over 340 times?” Gibb says it’s possible, but she really doesn’t know.

1:34 p.m. Prior asks about an interview Gibb did with me. Prior says, “That’s right. I forgot about Mr. Eaton.” Prior then asks about Gibb’s interview with Keith Morrison from “Dateline NBC.” Prior asks if there were conditions put in place for the interview. Gibb doesn’t think so.

1:33 p.m. Prior lists the names of the police officers Gibb has spoken to. He mentions Rob Wood and asks how often she spoke with the prosecutor. Gibb says it was frequent for a short period of time.

1:31 p.m. Prior talks about the conference where Lori and Chad first met. Chad was there to sell books. Prior asks about the book Gibb wrote. She says she started to write it in the middle of 2018. The book is called “Feel the Fire.” The book is about her LDS faith.

1:29 p.m. Prior asks if the light and dark teachings are associated with the LDS Church. Gibb says no. She says it’s inconsistent with church.

1:27 p.m. Prior asks Gibb what vibrations are. She says there can be different megahertz, and positive or negative vibrations. She says some people describe spiritual things as vibrations. Gibb says in general, vibrations are a frequency people put off. Prior asks if the frequency gives revelation. Gibb says not for her.

1:25 p.m. Prior asks Gibb to explain what energy work is. Gibb says a practitioner communicates with you or your body with a certain method they use through muscle testing. They ask questions about what’s going on in your body physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and the practitioner uses different ways to help your body feel better.

1:22 p.m. Gibb says before the conference in St. George where Chad met Lori, Chad had said at conferences that his wife Tammy was going to have a short life. Prior asks Gibb if the only two people she knows who have visions are Chad Daybell and David Warwick. Gibb says no – there are others.

1:21 p.m. Prior asks about dreams and visions. Gibb says she doesn’t have those experiences, but her faith believes people can have them. Prior asks if her husband has the gift of having dreams and visions. Gibb says yes. She believed, at one point, that Chad would have dreams and visions.

1:20 p.m. Prior asks Gibb how long she has been married to David Warwick. She says 3.5 years. After they got married, they lived together 9-10 months but now they live in different households by choice. Gibb lives in Arizona, and Warwick lives in Utah.

1:18 p.m. Prior asks if the religious conferences are consistent with the LDS faith. Gibb says mostly. Prior asks about visions and premonitions. He asks Gibb what the difference is. Gibb says a vision is something that feels like it’s actually happening while premonition is a gut feeling.

1:17 p.m. Gibb says she has been to two mountain retreats and she’s been to conferences a handful of times. Gibb says she met her husband at a previous religious conference.

1:15 p.m. Prior tells Gibb he wants to go through a timeline with her. He says he wants to talk about Chad, Lori, Alex, David and Zulema. Prior asks Gibb when she met Chad – summer of 2017. It was at a Preparing a People conference. Prior asks about the conference. Gibb says some people shared about science, some shared about the Book of Mormon, some shared their visions, some shared about ancient scriptures, some shared about stars, etc.

1:13 p.m. Gibb asks Alex if he 100% believed zombies were really true. Alex said he 100% believed it, according to Gibb. Blake has no further questions. Prior will now cross-examine.

1:12 p.m. Blake asks if the teachings of life and dark evolved. Gibb says yes. Dark people were now zombies. Other teachings evolved. Gibb spoke to Lori and Lori mentioned once or twice, “If Chad is Satan, he sure is a good one.” That gave Gibb some indication that Lori had some doubts.

1:10 p.m. Gibb says she heard Tammy referred to as dark at the end of September or early October 2019. Chad labeled people dark. Gibb says Tammy became suspicious about Chad and Lori, according to Lori.

1:08 p.m. Blake continues her questioning of Gibb. She asks about the recording of Chad making comments that Tammy was going to die. Gibb says when Tammy died in Oct. 2019, she reached out to Lori. Gibb says it seemed like Lori already knew of the death. Prior to Tammy’s death, Lori said Tammy was supposed to continue her mission on the other side of the veil and Tammy would be ok with Lori and Chad being together.

1:04 p.m. We are in the courtroom following lunch and Melanie Gibb is back on the stand. The attorneys are at their tables and Judge Boyce just walked in. The jurors will be brought in.

11:58 a.m. Time for a lunch break. We will be back in an hour.

11:57 a.m. Gibb says she says the teachings about getting married multiple times to multiple people “were a little different.” Gibb says she never 100% believed it, and there was some uncertainty there. She was open to come of the ideas but didn’t fully believe them.

11:56 a.m. Gibb says the teachings of Chad and Lori about multiple lives and light and dark felt like a higher knowledge to them. Lori felt Gibb would be in trouble for having knowledge of these things, and she would have to account for it in the next life.

11:55 a.m. Blake mentions that Chad said Tammy was sick and falling apart but he also mentioned that he knew for some time that she was going to die and have two parts of his life. “He had shared that information publicly at a few conferences that she was going to pass away early,” Gibb says.

11:53 a.m. Blake says in the recording that Lori mentioned Kay as being dark. Gibb had briefly met Kay at this point. Blake asks Gibb who the sister-in-law Chad was referring to. It was Heather Daybell and Gibb had never met her before.

11:52 a.m. Blake asks Gibb about Lori referencing that people were after her. Gibb says she was referring to Kay and Lori’s brother and the police all being after her because she considered them dark and they knew who she was spiritually. Their goal was to take JJ, and her life may have been in danger.

11:51 a.m. Gibb says the call disconnected – sometimes it ends in that particular area Gibb was in. Blake asks Gibb if she knew where Chad and Lori were during the call. Gibb doesn’t know. Blake asks if Chad and Lori seemed upset. Gibb says no. They were in good moods.
