Cartel and Gang Related Killings

In the past, I've wondered what describes a gang or cartel killing. I've seen armchair detectives define the term, but this video shows us how a sheriff's department describes a cartel-like killing that is definitely gang related in some way. (As an aside, I used to live in Tulare County for about a year int he 1990s and gangs were so bad there then that kids could only wear certain colors of clothes to school.)

I have been doing some research and came across this interesting interview, thought it might be a useful addition to this thread 🧵 🪡
I had never heard of this specific cartel, The Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación, also known as CJNG,, supposedly one of the top two cartels operating in the US according to the reporter who is being interviewed, Beth Warren.

The Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación, also referred to as CJNG, is a Mexican drug cartel with cells throughout the United States. Cartel members lived in Oregon and distributed fentanyl, meth and other illicit drugs in the state and across the country. The pockets of activity affected Portland and Hillsboro but also smaller communities like Oregon City, Seaside and Hood River. Beth Warren is an enterprise and investigative reporter for the Courier Journal in Louisville, Kentucky. She reported on drug trafficking in Oregon and CJNG’s efforts to expand its drug smuggling operations throughout the U.S.

Warning ⚠️ Content contains graphic descriptions of tactics used by Mexican cartels specifically

When discussing the extreme violence linked to drug trafficking, the topic of Mexican cartel murder methods inevitably arises. These chilling practices have sparked global outrage and horror narratives, as cartels employ increasingly brutal tactics to instill fear and assert dominance over rivals and communities. The relentless cycle of violence perpetuated by these organizations is fraught with unimaginable terror, painting a gruesome picture of the world in which these tactics unfold.

Some of the most notorious and gruesome methods used by cartels include beheadings by chainsaw, which often find their way onto shocking viral videos online; acid baths that leave little trace of the victim behind and are the stuff of urban legends; and the deeply unsettling act of face peeling, intended to send a ghastly warning to adversaries. Each method showcases a level of brutality that serves not only to punish but also to make a public statement of power and intimidation.

I had absolutely no idea that there were some big cartels in Oregon, of all places!

Not going to take time right now to read the links but did read the posts. I've heard of face peeling, I forget where. Jalisco is A Mexican state, I know that, so they probably originated there...

This kind of thing is one reason I have such a problem with the softness these days on illegals. Many a one are criminals like this coming here, NOT GOOD people. Drugs ;our across our border and into our country and murderers come as well.

I recall one crime I believe it was a granddaughter and grandma in grandma's home and they were beheaded it was figured with a machete, it was immediately thought to be Mexican cartel, it was one of the southern states. I've heard of more than that and yes, they are brutal killings.

Here's another thing, I heard about this crime ONE time and then news SHUT it down tight. Never heard of an arrest, nor a conviction. These kind of crimes are kept from us imo.

Many I believe also to be naive to much of what is going on here...

Some years ago our local sheriff did an interview. He has been sheriff quite a long time and quite a number of terms. Well they used to be really on and after cleaning up the meth and drugs and such and he was asked about that and he said it was much harder these days as it used to more often be your home meth lab and such but these days because almost all comes via Mexico and is then traversed down our interstates and other ways if I recall. It wasn't that long ago either, but a few years back, maybe 3 to 5 years ago? So it now is an interstate crime, it isn'tt necessarily in your jurisdiction but the drugs are still getting "here". It is federal, etc. as well...

There was more to it but I don't recall all of the article. I believe it is cheaper and easier for people if I recall and since the crackdown on fertilizer, Sudafed, etc. ingredients for meth got harder to huy... I don't think it has "ended" but he said the bulk of it now comes in from Mexico and they've basically taken over too.

I think many of our citizens are naive or just don't know the Mexican Cartel and gangs are here, in our states, etc. I also think the news is stopped, stuffed down, etc. and it just isn't put out there to us.. Not every illegal here is here to work, not in my opinion, not by a long shot. Some are and many are nice, but not all. We see tons of murders but again it's almost never acknowledged. I mention in many a case I wonder if "he" was here illegally or "they", the news keeps it out usually and so does LE imo.

I'm not sure I knew this thread existed. Maybe I'll give the links a thorough read one day, not in the mood for awful right now though.

Welcome back @Red Clover Haven't seen you around in awhile. Maybe you were and I wasn't on threads you were but I just know I haven't run into you in awhile I don't think.
