The two firefighters, Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander were reported missing out of Liberty County. According to WTOC, Anderson was cited in a June 22 police report “where Ms. Anderson came into an Olive Garden in Pooler where Mr. Chandler Kuhbander was on a date. Ms. Anderson caused a disturbance with Mr. Chandler Kuhbander and she walked outside and keyed his vehicle.”

Anderson is reportedly Chandler Kuhbander’s ex-girlfriend. WTOC spoke with Chandler Kuhbander’s mother, who said she’s worried for her son.

“Trying to keep yourself from going down that rabbit hole, and just praying that someone will see them and say something,” Jane Kuhbander said. “All we need and all we want is to find them so they can come home.”

How in the world did she get him out to that remote area? That’s what I wanna know.

TIMELINE: Investigation continues after missing Liberty Co. firefighters found dead

the bodies have been sent for an autopsy and are awaiting results.

This all started in Pooler on June 22nd.

That’s when a Hinesville Police report cites an incident, quote, “where Ms. Anderson came into an Olive Garden in Pooler where Mr. Kuhbander was on a date. Ms. Anderson caused a disturbance with Mr. Kuhbander, and she walked outside and keyed his vehicle.” As a result, Anderson was arrested.

Two days later, on June 24, the Liberty County Fire Department demoted Anderson and placed her on administrative leave.

The next day, Tuesday, June 25, the department’s deputy chief asked for a welfare check to be done on Anderson’s home. Hinesville police officers didn’t find anyone in the home but did find a note that appeared to be left by Anderson saying she might harm herself.

On that same day, Kuhbander is last seen leaving the Crunch Fitness in Savannah at around 11:30 a.m. Police say security footage shows him leaving the gym, but his vehicle was left in the parking lot, and he was never seen again.

Later that day, Anderson is seen pumping gas at a Circle K in Prosperity, South Carolina. Kuhbander is not seen there, but when WTOC spoke with his mother last week, she says that’s the last place his phone was tracked to.

After that, police say
her vehicle was seen travelling in the direction of Tennessee.

The two were ultimately found dead on Hollow Road in Cosby, Tennessee, along with Anderson’s vehicle.

The TBI is working alongside the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office and confirm the bodies have been sent for an autopsy.

As we await those results, we’ve been asking the TBI several questions. We want to know if there were any weapons found inside the vehicle. We’re also asking if they found any drugs in the area. Another question - simply to describe the area they were found, asking whether it’s a highly traveled area or more secluded.

So there's more to it that would have contributed to her state of mind, she was not only demoted but placed on leave... I'd assume it was from the charges of keying his car and the Olive Garden incident. Does this seem harsh to anyone? I mean there's no conviction... I think plenty of LE have had DV incidents and remained at work and probably firefighters too... I don't know that it IS harsh, just wondering opinions and it also may have been due to more than just that I suppose...

But if that's the reason, to her, he dumped her after years together, went out on a date, and now got her demoted and in trouble at work and 'won" at work affecting her job when they sided with him.
I'm just saying that's what she was probably seeing it like. I wonder why the dept wanted a welfare check the very next day after demoting her, etc...

Also, does anyone know if they were found outside on the actual road or both dead in her car?

I guess no one could get her help or convince her but some felt she needed such, did they try, did work tell her she needed to see someone, etc. to get her job back?

I suppose we will never know.

The mystery is how she got him to either go with or how she controlled him to end up that far away.

We usually hear it the other way around, there's no more dangerous time than when a woman leaves a DV relationship or marriage and/or even if not when, when they leave, break up, etc. and the same goes in reverse and this here is evidence of that, he was done with the relationship and she apparently was not okay with that and was reeling.

Hope to find out the further facts as to how and such but such a tragedy for all sides. I'd like to point out one thing, she didn't apparently go after the woman/the date, many would, we've seen it many times. Her problem was with him apparently.

Totally SAD.

Police: Early investigation into two dead Georgia firefighters suggests no one else was involved

Nearly 400 miles from Liberty County, deputies found Chandler Kuhbander and Raegan Anderson in one of their cars Sunday morning in Cosby, Tennessee. Now, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation leads the investigation to uncover what happened to the two.

"I don't believe that the investigation in any way is yielding an idea that whatever happened involved anybody else other than the two that were found," said Chief Tracey Howard with the Hinesville Police Department.

According to Howard, a person noticed a car along the side of the road and called first responders. The Cocke County Sheriff's Office responded to the call, where they found them dead in Anderson's 2017 black Ford Focus.

So they were in the car and he could have been dead before ever traveling, possibly. Or when getting there.

Not sure why they point out it didn't involve anyone else, did SM nuts think it did or something? I never thought otherwise, did anyone... Maybe it's a normal thing to say in case someone would wonder if someone they met on the way or on that road did something but I find making that point a bit odd.

One can only guess but she probably shot him is the most likely at some point in time. I doubt she shot him in the gym parking lot and loaded him into the trunk or anything like that...

if by force or control, best guess is made him get in car at gun point and then at some point she shot him or later on arrival to the TN area, shot him and self.

Something about that area had meaning to her it would seem as they seemed to believe they were headed there all along... Maybe something said in her "suicide" note otherwise...

There were no kids were there? Never thought of that until now. I hope not. They were together for like 7 years since young weren't they?

Another very sad ending.

The FD issued a welfare check because of 'many' calls regarding self harm. As for when she shot him, imo, it was in TN. If it was earlier in their trip then I don't think she would have been to stop and get gas in a public place.

This breaks my heart because she truly needed mental health treatment and Chandler was still trying to help her af5er being broken up for a year.

Thank you for the info. I did not know they had been broken up that long, a year, nor that he was still trying to help her. It is heart breaking and it seems like many knew she needed help and a shame she didn't get such.

I agree on the likely killing once getting to TN but do wonder then where he was when she did stop for gas or if he was with "willingly" at that point.

I can honestly only imagine a gun here because in almost any other scenario he would be able to fight back or overpower imo, whether gun at the beginning or the end of throughout to control.

I had no idea this break up had happened that long ago or that he still tried to help. I am going to guess that comes from FB and his mother or friends and family, etc.?

That info came from Xander, Chandler's brother.

Hinesville Senior Firefighter Chandler Kuhbander has returned home. His body and that of Hinesville fire Lt. Reagan Anderson were found in Cocke County, Tennessee a little over a week ago.

Authorities have not released information concerning what happened between the time the pair went missing time and their bodies were discovered.

According to a Facebook post by Jane Kuhbander, her son’s body was escorted from the Tennessee border to their home in Hinesville.

She commented that they wanted to keep the return close and quiet.

“It was close local friends and family, the Liberty County fire services, veteran enforcers, motorcycle association, special people who worked closely on this case, Hinesville Police Dept., Savannah Harley Davidson friends,” the social media post said.

In her comment Kuhbander thanked the public for their kindness throughout the ordeal.

As for explanations for what happened and why she commented, “yes he was brought home smaller, and no we do not have all the answers,” adding that what information the family did have, they were not ready to publicly share it.

Autopsy reports reveal new details in the Cocke Co. deaths of 2 Georgia firefighters, determines it was a murder-suicide

The Knox County Regional Forensics Center released the autopsy reports for two missing Georgia firefighters who were found dead in Cocke County in June and determined the case was a murder-suicide.

According to the autopsy report for Anderson, she was found dead in a car with Kuhbander. The report said investigators learned Anderson kidnapped Kuhbander in Georgia on June 24, later shooting him and then herself. A suicide note from Anderson was found inside the car.

Anderson's toxicology report found no drugs in her system.

According to Kuhbander's autopsy report, he was shot multiple times by Anderson before she turned the gun on herself. His toxicology report found alcohol in his system, some of which the report said was due to decomposition. The two had signs of decomposition, meaning they likely had been dead for more than a day before being found.
