You know, they make it sound like it's just yelling and crying and running and stomping and that sounds like unruly, spoiled, neglected kids but if a person can hear that, they can also hear a parent yelling, hitting, throwing things against walls, etc... Did they ever hear that or him in the home? One has to wonder...
And the fact they can’t get out of the house and they’re waving from the windows? Yeah that is not right.

Yeah, I"m a little unclear on whether that is a friendly wave or a wave to get attention. I mean he had to be home some if the kids weren't starving, had diapers on (hopefully fresh ones), etc. One talks as if never seeing an adult but then they say they dealt with him through the door, etc. I think one sad it seemed the kids had the run of the upstairs which I take to mean they weren't restrained or anything. I wonder if he blocked them off somehow from the most dangerous things like the kitchen, etc...? Or how the kids were, in what shape? Hard to say. Since one is missing, the most obvious answer is abuse and a lost temper or if the child had issues, maybe something intentionally done to him... That would lead one to suspect they were all abused.

Just speculating.

Cory Bigsby lives in the Buckroe Point Apartment Townhomes with his four sons — Codi, a 5-year-old and 2-year-old twins. He had custody of the boys, while the children’s mother lives in the Washington area, according to a family member.

It was not immediately clear whether Codi or his 5-year-old brother were attending pre-school or kindergarten in Hampton, and police have declined to say whether social services were involved with the family before last week.

The three siblings are in an undisclosed location, and Talbot said they are “safe and thriving.” The boys’ mother has been assisting the Hampton police with the investigation, officials said.

✂️

Police described the two instances in court documents, writing that Bigsby left the three youngest children — Codi and his twin brothers — at home alone for three hours Dec. 13 to buy a vehicle in Norfolk. On Jan. 25, police say, Bigsby left all four boys alone for several hours in the evening.

Search for Codi Bigsby brings frustration to community searchers

Starting the fourth week after he was reported missing, the Hampton Roads community is still hoping to find 4-year-old Codi Bigsby.

“We’re running out of time with the environment," said Joe Slabinksi, the W.A.T.E.R. Team Inc. founder. "The environment is getting ready to change within the next two to three weeks, and we’re going to lose the environment.”

As each day goes by, Slabinski said things get more challenging. He said also said having little information on where to look for Codi has been causing some frustration.

“The chief needs to understand that everybody out here is focused on one thing, and that is to find Codi, but he has to give us a little bit of information to help us with trying to pinpoint where we need to be,” he said.

Monday morning, community tips led the team to search a small wooded area behind Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Hampton. A team of four went through the area a few times, but found nothing that would lead them to Codi.

This location brings their search efforts closer to Codi’s home on Ranalet Drive after the team focused much of its efforts last week outside of Hampton.

“I don’t want to completely leave the apartments, but I don’t want to give up on looking outside the box and going beyond," he said. "It looks like we’re bouncing around, but I’m always looking at the next viable area.”

Slabinski said he’s focused on searching new areas, but will only retrace the team's steps if he thinks members missed something.

Search for Codi Bigsby gaining thousands of followers worldwide through social media

Monday marked three weeks since 4-year-old Codi Bigsby was reported missing.

The Hampton boy's case has raised a lot of emotions and questions. It has also spurred a lot of attention on search trails and search bars.

“I pretty much have adopted this child as if he was my own, and I will not leave him out here in the woods,” Joe Slabinski, CEO and Founder of WATER Team Inc. told News 3.

Karena Thomas is the founder of the online Facebook group True Crime Misfits. It’s a group for true crime fans geared towards creating pages to raise awareness for missing persons cases.

“Everybody wants the same, and they just want him home,” Thomas told News 3. “The first pictures, at least of him, were no smile - just a sad face. It just drew us to him, so we wanted to do something.”

Since creating a Facebook group for Codi's search, it has gained more than 24,000 members. Thomas said it’s the highest number of followers for any group they've made.

Their mission is making sure Codi stays in the spotlight.

“We have posts being shared in other countries,” Thomas said. “There’s members that are losing sleep over this. It’s hitting that community very hard. It’s even hitting people that don’t live in that community, not even in that state, hard.”

“Any one flier or his picture could jog someone’s memory,” Thomas added.

Meanwhile, Slabinski's group has gained hundreds of followers on social media. He said it's also become a source when deciding where to put boots on the ground to search.

Search for Missing Codi Bigsby Hampered by ‘Conscious Choices of Adults To Not Tell Us Things’: Police Chief

Hampton, Virginia, Police Chief Mark Talbot updated his community Friday on the search for 4-year-old Codi Bigsby, telling a town hall that police are treating the case as if it’s their own child missing.

“It rapidly became a very intense and emotional investigation,” Talbot said, speaking at Zion Baptist Church alongside Mayor Donnie Tuck and Pastor Joshua King Sr, WVEC reported.

The chief told the small crowd of people who attended that there’s been one major roadblock to the investigation: “The conscious choices of adults to not tell us things.”

“I could give you more direction if the people who said they love Codi Bigsby gave us more direction,” he said, referring to community search teams who are asking for more information about where to search.

But Talbot assured the attendees that his department has been engaged in “a nonstop effort to find him, bring him home, bring justice to his life.”

“I’ve never put more resources into a case than I put into this one,” he said, noting that the team consists of a full-time captain, lieutenant, three sergeants, and two lead detectives.

Talbot said, though, that detectives aren’t even sure of the last time Codi was seen.

“We’re still not sure when the last time somebody saw this child healthy and talking and playing,” he said “We still don’t know.”

'Too early to give up hope' | National organization urges community to keep pushing as search for Codi Bigsby enters second month

One month ago, the Hampton community learned Codi Bigsby’s name.

The 4-year-old was nowhere to be found and Hampton police still don’t know what happened to him.

From the beginning of the search, people across Hampton Roads jumped into action to try and find him. Search efforts push on, for now.

"How far do we go? That depends how long Codi is missing," W.A.T.E.R Team Inc leader Joe Slabinski said two weeks ago.

As the days have turned into a month with no answers, John Bischoff, the vice president of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, said public interest and support could begin to fade.

"As time goes on, unless you’re directly tied to the missing child, unless you're a family member, a neighbor, very aware of the child, you may lose sight that the child is actually missing," he said.

Bischoff said the community can’t let that happen.

"It’s too early to give up hope that we’re gonna find this child," he said.

So, to keep hope alive and answers coming in, he said now is the time to blast Codi’s picture everywhere.

"It’s important more than ever to keep the poster out in the community, to keep sharing his image to let the entire community know that there is a missing child."

Missing for more than a month, volunteers not giving up hope in search for Hampton boy Codi Bigsby

It’s been a little more than a month since 4-year-old Codi Bigsby was reported missing.

There’s still no word on where Codi is, but community members are continuing to search for him in Hampton Roads. A small group of volunteers searched woods in the northern section of Hampton Friday.

One volunteer says it’s too early to give up hope and says momentum is still within the community.

“I think what keeps us all going as a community is we all want a positive outcome out of this situation. Many of us want closure. Until we know the whereabouts of Codi - whether good or bad - many of us are devoted to being out here as long as it takes to find him,” said volunteer Mahogany Waldon.

Hampton Police tell News 3 that the search is in an investigative phase as Codi has now been missing for 32 days.

‘We haven’t given up on him,’ search for Codi Bigsby enters second month

It’s now been more than a month since four-year-old Codi Bigsby was reported missing from his Hampton home and members of the community want to make sure his name isn’t reduced to an afterthought in people’s busy lives.

Saturday evening, a small group gathered at the Hampton Soccer Fields in an effort to “light the way home” for the toddler. The fields are next to the Buckroe Pointe Apartments where Bigsby was last reported to have lived. A tribute has grown along a chain-linked fence, complete with dozens of stuffed animals, balloons and a giant poster.

“Lighting the way home for Codi. We haven’t given up on him,” Clark said.

There’s been no update from police in the case in weeks, but Cory Bigsby remains the only person of interest in Codi’s disappearance.

Uh huh. Seemed that way from the beginning. The last time seen disappearances in the middle of the night of children usually does end up being a person in the house responsible. Not that an abduction hasn't happened that way. But most of the time, No.

Unfortunately I think it comes down to the father telling where his body is.

Every picture I have seen of this child he doesn't look happy at all. To me he looks very sad. One picture when a child is caught in a bad moment is one thing. But not every picture.
I notice that too. It breaks my heart. He looks sad and for lack of better words, haunted, beaten down, scared...

Evil. Not a bit of love for anyone but themselves... Self preservation.

It seems these types of cases are rampant lately. Why is it things get worse and not better? More of them, not less?

Drugs, selfishness, no morals or sense of responsibility, no love for anything but $$, things, drugs, sex or other vices, certainly no love of children/people... It is a ME FIRST world....

Killing a child is evil. Killing your own I just will never understand. And when the parent(s) show no caring, No remorse or fake it, SUSAN SMITH! Darlie Routier. Self centered, And their children became an inconvenience to them, Beat them to death, Ones that are pimped out and killed. I just can't even imagine with that. One case happened recently. The man killed her, That for lack of a better word, Rented her from her mother. They ingest drugs because you leave them around because they are so high and stupid that's all they think about. Negligence. Whatever the reason.Thats your child! I believe there is a special place in he77 for these people.
