AZ DANIEL ROBINSON: Missing from Buckeye, AZ - 23 June 2021 - Age 24

daniel-robinson.jpg

David’s son, Daniel Robinson, 24, vanished June 23 while working in a remote area of Buckeye, Arizona.

Police have said they have no evidence of foul play or violent criminal activity. However, Robinson’s blue Jeep was found by a rancher one month after he was reported missing. His keys, wallet and cellphone were in the vehicle but there was no sign of him.

Some who have examined the case, including the family’s private investigator, Jeff McGrath, aren’t so sure there was no foul play. McGrath doesn’t believe Daniel Robinson was in his car when it flipped over, and recently pointed out to NewNation that “the vehicle had 11 additional miles on it from when the airbags deployed. It had 46 additional ignition cycles on it after the airbags deployed.” McGrath also said there was paint on the vehicle that couldn’t be attributed to the place it was found.

The Jeep Renegade belonging to Robinson, who was reported missing on June 23 by his father, apparently sped up immediately before it crashed in a ravine in a desert area, the Buckeye Police Department in Arizona said Wednesday. The acceleration right before the crash could "indicate an attempt to drive up the other side of the ravine," the police said, citing a collision report from San Tan Recon, a collision reconstruction and consultation company.

Robinson's SUV was found on July 19, less than three miles away from the work site where he was last seen, police said. A pile of his clothing and belongings was discovered nearby, Robinson's family said.

The report also showed that more than 40 ignition cycles were recorded following the crash, which could indicate attempts to restart the car or use of the electric system, the police department said, noting that it's not clear how many of those cycles occurred during tow recovery and when investigators downloaded data.

There was an 11-mile discrepancy between the crash data report and the displayed odometer reading, which "is not considered unusual," the report said.

"Similar discrepancies have been noted by Jeep dealership service departments and other crash reconstructionists," the report said.

Please Help Find Daniel Robinson

Daniel Robinson was last seen the morning of June 23, 2021 leaving his worksite in Buckeye, AZ. He was driving his 2017 blue-grey Jeep Renegade and is believed to have headed west, deeper into desert terrain.

On Tuesday, July 19, 2021, Daniel’s vehicle was found by a rancher a little over two and a half miles from the worksite in a remote part of the desert. On that day, the Rancher reported the vehicle to Buckeye Police Department who later did a search by ground and drone. The vehicle was recovered; Daniel was not found.

Daniel has an innate passion for adventure and is known to travel in opportune moments. However, he always has communicated with family on his travel plans. That day, Daniel was on the job when he went missing and was said to have been last seen by a worker from another company who worked with him at a Well. He made plans to be with family before going missing and looked forward to that meeting in July. Daniel is a Scientist that love nature, love his family and expressed plans for his future.

A Missing Persons report was filed the evening Daniel was last seen, and since then our family have utilized all avenues to get law enforcement’s help by asking them to launch an investigation into what happend to Daniel.

Our next goal is to continue pushing forward to find out what happened to Daniel, even if it means no help from law enforcement. We will continue to seek support from anyone who wants to help. We won’t settle for the minimum amount of searches and support sworn law enforcement officers and detectives are giving Daniel’s case. The way that Daniel’s case was handled from day one by law enforcement can easily cause him to become one of the many missing without ever having answers.

This website was created by the Robinson Family. There is no other website that is associated with us. This Website is were you will get up-to-date information that we can share with the public. Also, I will express the facts as I know them. Please join the blog (Community Chat) to discuss with the family directly.

Thank you for your support, love, and prayers. GOD Bless!!

Okay wow. I had thought they had found him when they located remains near his crashed vehicle. I didn't really look for updates after that because I assumed it would be him... Wow. Exactly how many people are dead out in that desert?

Family search for missing Daniel Robinson expands to Phoenix, Goodyear

Daniel Robinson’s family is expanding their searches for the geologist to other Valley cities after he went missing from a Buckeye worksite nearly six months ago.

While Daniel’s wrecked jeep and belongings were found in the desert, investigators haven't been able to find him.

So far, Daniel’s dad has held his own searches every weekend in Buckeye, where Daniel went missing. But now he's expanding those to Phoenix and Goodyear, and the reason why, to search the homeless populations.

“Evidence says that something happened in there, in that desert, but because we don’t have Daniel, I will continue to be hopeful that he’s somewhere I can find him,” David said.

“Those areas are areas that I want to search because of the homeless populations there to make sure my son is not part of it,” David said.

He also said Daniel used to live in Phoenix, and because of Goodyear's proximity to Buckeye, he wants to search there.

The younger Robinson worked as a geologist for Matrix New World Engineering in Arizona, and was, in his father’s words “a scientist — a brilliant mind.” So David was more than a little concerned when his daughter told him that one of Daniel’s co-workers showed up at her apartment in Phoenix asking if she had seen her brother. According to a police report obtained by Rolling Stone, Daniel had shown up to his work site around nine that morning in Buckeye, Arizona, west of the White Tank Mountains, where a co-worker reported that he was acting strangely, staring into the distance and “talking about things that did not make sense.” After about 15 minutes, Daniel left and hasn’t been seen since.

Search intensifies for Daniel Robinson as family celebrates his 25th birthday

The last seven months have been full of sleepless nights and a wondering mind for David Robinson.

“Sometimes your body says I can’t do it no more, but my mind says I have to keep going. You can imagine going on seven months of searching for my son; every day is hard,” said Robinson.

In the months following Daniel's disappearance, David has worked with a private investigator and organized weekend search efforts to find his son. Daniel has missed holidays and now will miss his 25th birthday.

“Since he was a little kid, we’ve wished him a happy birthday,” said David. “He’s not here to be able to say that to him.”

David's desert searches have changed from a rescue mission to a recovery mission.

“I’m not looking for Daniel out in the desert walking around undressed alive. Right now, it’s more of a recovery mission for me as a father,” said Robinson.

But he is still holding on to hope that Daniel may not be in the desert and could be in a surrounding city.

“Because we don’t know what happen to Daniel out in that desert, I’ve expanded my searches to cover every city; around Phoenix, Goodyear, Buckeye, Mesa," said Robinson.

David is asking the Buckeye Police Department to partner with him in the desert searches. The department told 12 News they are in communication with him.

'My son is my mission': Daniel Robinson's father, others gather to honor missing geologist

A candlelight vigil brought out dozens of people Saturday to the Arizona Capitol in honor of 25-year-old Daniel Robinson, a geologist who went missing nine months ago in the desert just outside of Buckeye.

The vigil began at 6:30 p.m. where at least 50 people gathered on the Capitol Lawn outside of the Arizona State Capitol Museum. A short prayer was followed by a speech from Gizette Knight, president of the Shining Light Foundation and Janelle Wood, founder of Black Mothers Forum.

"My son is my mission," said David Robinson, Daniel's father. "The candlelight vigil is to bring some awareness to my son's case and also bring fresh light to other families who are going through the same exact thing — (to) get the urgency that they need from law enforcement."

Father of missing Buckeye geologist Daniel Robinson pauses desert searches

The father of a geologist who went missing in Buckeye last summer is temporarily pausing search efforts to find his son. David Robinson, the father of Daniel Robinson, tweeted on Monday night that desert search parties would be on hold due to budget restraints.

“I will not stop searching and will continue to do so. I want those who search with me to have a safer environment, better equipment, and complete organization while looking. I love each one of them and hope to see my extended family when I resume my search. Pray for me,” the tweet read.

Arizona geologist Daniel Robinson still missing a year later: 'We don't have answers'

It's been a year since Arizona geologist Daniel Robinson went missing in the Sonoran Desert.

His father, along with dozens of volunteers, have scoured the area as the case has garnered a national following for the search for the 24-year-old.

Of course, Daniel's family never wanted to reach the one-year mark, June 23, still not having enough answers to piece together what happened to him.

Now that the milestone is sadly reached, they're continuing on, saying the desert is large and more of it needs to be searched.

"For me and my family, it is like day one. We don't have answers, don't have what happened to my son," says Daniel's father, David Robinson, who hasn't stopped searching.

He and volunteers have scoured thousands of acres of the Sonoran Desert, and he's hired a private investigator to learn anything about his son's whereabouts.

"Just trying to do everything I can to find my son," he said.

Dateline's Missing in America podcast delves into disappearance of geologist Daniel Robinson in Buckeye, Arizona

It’s a November morning in the desert around Buckeye, Arizona.

The sun is just peeking above the horizon and the sky is blue with streaks of pink.

Dust-covered trucks and ATVs arrive using unpaved roads carved into the sand and stone.

The caravan passes the flat landscape dotted with low green shrubs until it pulls up to a cleared spot. And that's when people get out of the vehicles. It's fall in much of America, but during the day it's still summer here. The new arrivals are dressed for work: baseball caps to block out the sun, walking sticks, digital compasses on their cell phones.

They are here to search the desert.

The search for Arizona geologist Daniel Robinson will temporarily be suspended this month. Daniel’s father, David, moved from South Carolina and has been leading search efforts in Arizona for the past 10 months. He organized search crews, hired a private investigator, and put together a campaign for donations. However, he says his financial resources are running out. “We roughly started out with 200 people…to go out and search with me. That number has dramatically dropped. I’d be lucky if I get 20,” he said. With a lack of funding, David said he can’t keep using equipment needed for forensic work. Daniel vanished in June 2021 after he crashed his vehicle in the desert in Buckeye. His clothes were found in the vehicle, but there was no trace of his body. Local police have ruled out foul play in Daniel’s disappearance.

Nine years of Dateline's Missing in America: 188 still missing

Dateline NBC's social and digital series 'Missing in America' began nine years ago today, on December 5, 2013. We asked our Facebook community a simple question the night before. "Do you know anyone who has simply vanished?"

The response was overwhelming. Since that first post, every week we have tried to feature the story of a different missing person brought to our attention by a member of our social communities. And this year, we created a new podcast series called ‘Dateline: Missing in America,’ which highlighted six cases of the cases featured in our digital series. You can learn more about the cases featured in Season 1 and listen here.

Read and share their stories. Someone, somewhere, saw something.

Daniel Robinson

On June 23, 2021, 24-year-old Daniel Robinson, drove his 2017 blue Jeep Renegade away from his job site in the desert area west of Sun Valley Parkway, just north of Cactus Road in Buckeye, Arizona and hasn’t been seen since. In July of 2021, Daniel’s Jeep was discovered by a rancher in a ravine on his property about four miles southwest of the jobsite where Daniel was last seen. Police say the Jeep appeared to have rolled and landed on its side. Several of Daniel’s belongings were found at the scene, including clothes, his cell phone, wallet, and keys. A ground search was conducted, but nothing was found. Daniel’s father, David Robinson, traveled cross-country to search for his son. He spoke with Josh Mankiewicz for an episode of the new podcast series “Dateline: Missing in America” released this summer and said he would not leave Arizona until he finds his son. “It seems like it is simple, but when you are actually on the ground looking, it takes time,” he said. “You know, even with the people that we have it takes time... It’s a lot of time, effort and money to keep things going and I get weary at times that it is going to fade eventually and I won’t have that kind of support anymore.” David remains determined to get answers. “As a father, my drive is to find my son. So I will do whatever it takes to make it happen,” he vowed. Daniel is 5’8”, and weighs about 165 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. He is missing part of his right arm from the forearm down. Anyone with information on Daniel’s case is asked to call the Buckeye Police at 623-349-6400 or the Buckeye Police tip line at 623-349-6411 or the tipline created by Daniel's father at 844-602-0660.

Human remains, including a skull, found in remote desert area of Buckeye

Buckeye Police say human remains were found in a remote area of the desert on Saturday, Jan. 7.

Among the remains, police say a skull and other bones were found near Johnson Road and Southern Avenue around 1 p.m.

"Investigators are currently processing the scene. The remains will be turned over to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office for forensic examination and identification," police said.

No further information is available.

Although unrelated at this point, when the community hears of human remains being found in Buckeye, minds tend to go to the disappearance of Arizona geologist Daniel Robinson.

Again, at this point, there is no identification of the remains found Saturday.
