In response to this article. 1. I have been pulled over for it. 2. There is information that he was pulled over for expired tabs.

Interesting that he was in Waukesha. I don't like court proceedings not being publicly televised but it sure isn't the norm, many are not. You don't go intimidate a judge over it. And not live streaming or televising doesn't make it secretive, reporters are still allowed in as is the public. I assume it will be the case anyhow.

But how could she not know?
If she was an officer for years, she knew IF the weapons had been worn this way for years and IF they always had both weapons. You don't get up every day and put your stuff on the side you were trained to, right or left, without knowing which was where imo, you are the one that PUTS them on. If I put my keys in my right pocket every day then I reach into my right pocket not my left. That's not training. However, imo what weapon to use when and under what circumstance in a volatile fast changing situation would have to do with training. I would like to know how many times she has had to pull either weapon in such a situation.

I don't see this one either as racially motivated.

Well put.

that's why I wonder how often they actually trained in situations for using all their devices they have, not just "here's a stun gun. Use it when you need to".

Watched opening of state and now watching defense. I was surprised the state included in their opening that she shouldn't have even fired her taser. Defense is starting opening with saying she fired Taser cuz she thought her fellow officer was in danger. He also said Potter is gonna testify next week. Wow!

Same courtroom as Derek Chauvin trial with a different judge. Defense is talking about the witnesses they will call with their credentials. Oh, and she just made a mistake

I caught part only of the prosecution opening which was strong I guess, same woman as in the Chauvin case, and then got a phone call I was waiting for. I now have defense on but only just got it up and on and probably won't see the rest of that.

I can say there is nowhere near the number of people watching or in the chats as I normally see in a case. There are, however, several big trials going on right now.

Oh sure, I just get it on again and they break for lunch.

Defense is saying what a great person and officer she is.
Too bad being a "great person" doesn't stop you from making stupid "mistakes".
Potter is gonna testify about the emotional damage she has suffered since this. Jeez o flip!
And Daunte's family?
In times of chaos, airline pilots may make mistakes, surgeons may make mistakes. Potter has been trained on guns for 26 years, but tasers have only been around for 10 years. Goodness!
So therefore she should have known that she was handling a gun, which she has had training on for 26 years!

I'm not watching live, but this defense is bizarre.

It seems to me they are hoping if they can't get a not guilty for their client, they are aiming for the lower charge and/or mercy on sentencing by admitting to a mistake, showing her upset and remorse (my guess is she will do this on the stand). almost seems to me that they are trying to mitigate. I mean if she is found not guilty, that is their best shot but if not, they want to show her upset, remorse, that she made a mistake.

Just my opinion of what the defense is doing, it is not my opinion of what the outcome should be. I am trying to catch at least some parts of it to form an opinion.
