Thomasville resident Lindsay Shiver is under arrest after Bahamian Police uncovered a plot crafted by her and two men to kill her estranged husband, Robert Shiver.

According to Bahamas Court News, police arrested Shiver, 36, along with her lover Terrance Bethel, 28, of Guana Cay, Abaco and hitman Farron Newbold Jr., 28, of the Bahamas. Bahamian police say they uncovered the plot on July 16, while searching the phone and social media app of a suspected burglar.

A source familiar with the investigation said the Shivers have a home in the Bahamas, where Lindsay first began an affair with Bethel. Upon Robert finding out about the affair, he filed for divorce. That is when Lindsay, Bethel and and Newbold Jr. concocted a plan to murder Robert.

Authorities are currently holding Lindsay, Bethel and Newbold Jr. in jail. They were not required to enter a plea and have to return to court October 5.

Lindsay Shiver appears in Bahamas court with lover Terrance Bethel and 'hitman' Faron Newbold as lawyers ask judge to speed up her case after hearing was adjourned until December

  • Lindsay Shiver's lawyers Thursday asked a judge for no further delays in her case after prosecutors told the court the Voluntary Bill of Indictment wasn't ready
  • The case was adjourned until December 1, but insiders told DailyMail.com there's 'no guarantee Shiver will go on trial next year let alone this year'
  • Their hopes of a speedy trial look forlorn, however, as the overburdened Bahamas judicial system buckles under a backlog of hundreds of cases
If she pled guilty, perhaps that would speed it up. Half sarcastic, half in jest.

I won't go on about delays and this isn't US Court anyhow but I will say they can't even have a bill of indictment ready yet? The woman is out isn't she if I recall? Not in jail I mean? She should be thankful.

Honestly they both sound like quite the the problem children if you ask me (yet adults) hiring investigators and more in a nasty custody/divorce case, etc. Nothing funny though about her planning to kill him but on the other hand, his mom seems like an interfering overinvolved thing all on her own. Money and power on his side, go figure.

Both parties in this one are still alive. I feel for the kids but can only imagine how they've been raised and what they've been put through anyhow. He knows now to keep himself safe and what she was up to, both are alive and I kind of look at this one similar to Carlee Russell, there are more important cases that don't get the attention something like this does in the news.

I follow them too, no doubt and I do care in the sense that power and money shouldn't play into justice AND apparently she really did intend to have him killed. Divorces are passionate, kids are involved and this marriage is toxic and maybe she is getting ran all over by a very rich connected family but NOT A ONE of them is concerned about the kids imo. They, including his mom, need to grow up, at least one of them needs to just walk away and STOP. Imo they weren't living a real life or adulting EVER.

I need to STOP and so I shall.

If she didn't want to be in the slow wheels of a justice system, maybe don't be planning a hit on your husband, father of your children, man who shared your bed, one you walked down the aisle with. No one in this case appears to be an adult nor looks like one and that includes his mother.

If you can't do the time (in this case waiting for it to start :teehee:), don't do the crime!

Yeah, and I'm sure custody and that fight is affected, kids are affected and her life with bf/lover is affected and so forth. Well yah know maybe take care of your kids instead of plotting to kill hub. Neither f these two would last in even the not so bad side of the real world for one minute.

A defense attorney asking for a case to be SPED up?! Whaaaat?! :thud:

Yeah. That is great advice. It is the kids that are ALWAYS effected. It is amazing how many people that do things in actual custody battles that defeat the purpose completely. They have revenge, Vengeance, And only themselves in mind when it comes down to it.

Couldn't have said it better. There is often one that just deals with the b.s. the other won't stop but I don't see it in this case. You have a plot to kill on one side and a PI and overinvolved grandma and major money on the other side who kept kids from mom plus wants some of her hair so they can drug test it or something like that. Just STOP people and look at yourselves.

Lindsay Shiver, co-defendants plead not guilty in murder-for-hire plot

Lindsay Shiver and her two co-conspirators pled not guilty in an alleged murder-for-hire plot to kill Shiver’s husband, Robert Shiver. A formal arraignment took place Friday morning in a courtroom in the Bahamas.

The judge set a March 4, 2024 trial date, and Shiver’s next pretrial appearance will take place on January 31, 2024. All three are currently out on bail but must remain in Nassau, adhere to a curfew, and are being tracked by ankle monitors.

The three co-defendants in the case — Shiver, 36, Terrance Bethel, 28, and Farron Newbold Jr., 29 — are all represented by the same attorney and, as of now, will be tried together. They have thus far presented a united front, insisting they never seriously planned to kill Lindsay’s husband.

Shiver and Bethel were lovers. It is not clear if they are still a couple.

Cameras were not permitted in the courtroom, but Court TV Crime and Justice Correspondent Matt Johnson was at the hearing and heard the defendants speak in court. Johnson said all three stood with their arms folded and each individually addressed the judge to say they were not guilty.

The attorney representing the trio, Owen Wells, gave Court TV the following statement:

“Lindsay is innocent and the evidence will clearly demonstrate her innocence. She continues to face the legal process with complete transparency and honesty. Lindsay is looking forward to getting this ordeal behind her and — most importantly — she is looking forward to being reunited with her young children who have been without their mother for many months. She has confidence in the integrity of the Bahamian justice system and will continue to cooperate in any way she can.”

Really?! Pfft. Smh.

Really?! Pfft. Smh.
They are all a bunch of self entitled up to no good people. That includes the hub and his mother and his new gf imo. They may have her on a supposed murder for hire thing but don't miss out on what he was doing, mom was doing, his new sm queen gf who has inserted herself into this AND whose parents are in prison for fraud. And more. They are quite the despicable group and the children don't have a chance with any of them imo. I will also say the entire way the cops came across this info is hokey. BUT yes she deserves it as it does look like it was a plan. But again, they are all a bunch of very dislikable people and all corrupt and entitled as he77. Never lived in the real world, never did real work, and more.

A Georgia woman accused of plotting to kill her husband with two other people in the Bahamas was cleared by a judge to return to the United States while she awaits trial, her attorney said Thursday.

Lindsay Shiver was taken into custody over the summer and released on bail in August, but had to remain in the Bahamas as part of her original bond conditions, which also included an electronic monitoring device and a curfew.

“Lindsay is thankful the court has agreed to let her return to the U.S. so she can see her children,” Shiver’s attorney, Owen Wells, told CNN in a statement. “Her attorneys will continue to prepare for trial and we look forward to vigorously defending Lindsay because she is innocent.”

Her trial is expected to begin early March, Wells has previously said. She will be allowed to remain in the US until her trial begins.

I'm sure she probably has to fly commercial now as his family jet is off limits. Wonder if anyone recognized her on the way home if she has went yet. Of course I guess her family could pay for some kind of private pilot and flight but they may want to trim the budget with attorney fees and all to get her out of this mess.

Then there are the custody, etc. attorneys and I'm sure the misbehavior will continue by both with the kids in the middle and throw in his new gf. and "kids" (siblings) and I doubt it will turn smoothly for the holidays and/or kids. Oh and we can't forget his interfering mother.

He's going to have to have a bodyguard and watch out for hit men she may hire and she needs to keep in mind the power they have and the PI they will have on her tail and keep her nose clean.

SMDH. Imo they are all an embarrassment. A huge one.

Former Dothan Beauty Queen charged in murder-for-hire plot claims husband is withholding children from her

A Georgia mom and former Houston County resident accused of plotting to kill her estranged husband while vacationing in the Bahamas is claiming he won’t allow her to see their children after she came home for the holidays.

Lindsay Shiver filed a motion in the Superior Court of Thomas County, Georgia, claiming her husband, Robert Shiver, wouldn’t allow her visitation with their three children and is keeping their whereabouts from her.

Lindsay Shiver says her estranged husband previously agreed to visitation under the condition that Shiver’s parents supervise once she returned to the U.S. on December 22.

According to the motion filed on Wednesday, January 3, after Robert Shiver allegedly reneged on the deal for supervised visitation, Lindsay Shiver was able to speak with the children via Facetime on Christmas day but has not seen or reached them since.

Lindsay Shiver also claims that even before she was arrested in the Bahamas, Robert Shiver had denied her contact with their children and cut off access to financial resources on multiple occasions.

In the same January motion, Lindsay Shiver said her estranged husband had sold her 2021 Cadillac Escalade without her permission and had removed all her personal property from their once-shared home without telling anyone where it was.

Despite the ongoing divorce battle in the U.S., Lindsay Shiver must be back in the Bahamas for her pre-trial on February 21, 2024, and her trial on March 4, 2024.

Gotta love news articles with the "former Dothan Beauty Queen" kind of headlines.

Both sides of this turn me off but I will say that his side and family are really being missed in what their power and money pulls.

That does not mean though that I think much of her actions either.

But I do think the entire way they came on this info (plan to murder) was hokey. Bar manager, fire or was it theft I forget, looked at the guy's phone and found this etc.

His mother and their ways sound like they are all head cases.

On the other hand, both sides and all involved disgust me.

These kids don't have a hope or a prayer. They may not be "abused" but they are or will be raised in either case and used like objects or money or control. By either side and already have imo.

I do believe his family and their power play into this. However, she was really stupid to do as she did and what she did despite her children.

Again it disgusts me. Lifestyles of the rich but not so famous with two people who have never adulted in their entire lifetime imo but lived on the dime and help with jobs or expenses from the mommies and daddies (grandparents). And that thing HE is with needs to just stop.

I haven't watched anything on this in awhile but saw enough and again both sides disgust me.

Judge sets trial date for Thomasville mother accused of murder plot

Lindsay Shiver, accused of plotting with her lover to murder her husband, will stand trial this summer.

A judge set Shiver’s trial to begin on July 1, 2024, in the Bahamas. Other hearings scheduled included a status hearing on May 1 and a pre-trial hearing on June 5, both of which she does need to appear.

Trial once again delayed for former Dothan beauty queen charged in Bahamas murder-for-hire plot

The trial of a Georgia mom and former Houston County resident accused of plotting with her boyfriend to kill her estranged husband while vacationing in the Bahamas has been pushed a second time, sources say.

Lindsay Shiver was set to go to trial on Monday, July 1, in the Bahamian capital of Nassau on a murder-for-hire charge. However, WDHN has learned from NewsNation that one of Shiver’s attorneys confirmed her trial has been pushed, and unconfirmed reports show that her new trial date has been set for October 2024.

Woulda been safer in jail, it seems.

OMG it ,may we;; be trie. be careful who you plot to kill your hub with and screw around with but unfortunately for, her, she may also just be a liar and drama queen. I mean who can even GUESS the truth here?

if she thought him someone who would help take the hub out is she so surprised he can do violence against her or anyone?

I wouldn't wish such a on anyone but she's a bit difficult to believe or have major sympathy for.

I don't think much of the hub and their dramas and games and effect on the children either OR for that matter, the parents on either side.

One of those monied privileged cases of bored married partners looking for something new and exciting I guess...

Have followed but not my favorite cup of tea.
