JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

Hmmm. I should be happy but I'\m not sure what to think of this. I sure don't have the legal mind or knowledge to know. My first thought RIGHT on seeing it is worry...I think they both deserve death but it just seems that this would open the door for serious appeals.... Logic wouldn't but the darned law does't run on logic. I mean they both deserved it and just because Lori's case ended up with it having to be dismissed doesn't mean Chad's should and that's how I would HOPE it would be but...

I also blame Boyce for Lori's loss of DP and now he decides this on Chad. I need to see the reasons and think on it and see the "law" and what is said, etc.

Maybe it doesn't matter, they are TWO DIFFERENT cases with different events and one wanting speedy, one not, etc. but they WERE joined for most of these years. I have no idea of the law and I can also see where what she faced has nothing to do with his case and whether it can be kept so hopefully this was conferred, researched and the right decision. I just tend to distrust out of the box.

WELL that answers that. BOTH sides better be ready for a SERIOUS DP case. Jurors will have to be DP qualified.

Prosecution did great in Lori's BUT Lori's attorney did little to nothing. Prior is NOT going to be the same. For all of the fun made of Prior through the years, he is no slouch and he is going to give some major cross exams which hasn't been seen yet. I did get a glimpse of it with Mel P at the preliminary. He had her defensive in a second flat and showing her "true"' colors AND with sequestering he brought out obvious differences in Mel's and hub David's stories.... That was just a TASTE.

I'm very happy for the family members and happy to hear it on one hand but the timing makes absolutely no sense to me. They held them for all of these years I would assume because of their murder cases and we are only 1/2 done with them. So what changed? Chad still has to be tried for their murders so it isn't because Lori's concluded. And if it wasn't for the trials then what was the reason for all of these years? Did Prior and Wood agree or something that they could be and did not need them further for trial?

Still, it is good news, I'm just confused with the timing or why they had to be kept at all this long then if that was not the reason.

I think they were released about a month ago. People were wondering the same thing at the time, if they would be laid to rest together. It’s up to their families, not public opinion.
They were released but I can't recall if Kay said what the plans were or not. I'm also not sure who they were released to, it could well be Colby, he'd be the closest kin as JJ's brother as well since he was legally adopted. It's my hope of course that they'd all be together and come together on where, how and so forth and it seems to me I think that is the case but I honestly am not sure and I also don't know if they knew Tylee would be coming or if they were going to wait for that reason. Up to them and if private even, that's up to them as well if they all wish not to share the info imo.

I will say this, I don't think the last I knew that Colby has the funds to do much and there again, I'd hope they all work together and agree on it and I believe Kay and Larry would pay for them both imo if needed.

I still honestly do not know legally that Lori had no right first although conviction of their murders would hopefully change that but ID laws are funny, heck some laws in many states are.

I wonder if that played in in any way to them being held, if they had been released before she was tried, I'd think they'd have had to go to Lori.

I was just thinking as sad as it is, it is fortunate the kids weren't cremated like Alex was and Joe too wasn't he? It is the kids found and Tammy exhumed that allowed for any murder charges at all. Their murders and mutlilation, etc were so horrid and different than the rest. Oh and of course Charles, there was a body there too and police called. I can't recall if she cremated him too but the murder was already responded to and know about alhough they didn't look at it as one as they should have for some time.

Kay said Lori is not happy to be in AZ from sources she heard this from and she is happy if Lori gets anything Lori does't want, etc.

I'm glad the kids are home although I still don't quite understand the timing between trials of their murders. Even so I want what the families want, that's who matters.

Justin and Nate have been great in this case and now we see Justin picking up more since on his home turf. I loved the show four of them did together back when on this one. Not competitive but all working together. I think it may have been the two reporters and their photographers, but there were four. It was a great show and something that stick out in my memory.

Nate in Hawaii and Nate deciding on a helicopter when the kids were found were something else as well.

I wonder if Lori will move for speedy trial in this one. I wonder who her new attorney/s are and if she likes them. Personally I think speedy trial was a strategy with Chad in the ID cases. So she may not do it here BUT if she so not wants to be in AZ perhaps she will.

And it's just hitting. I am happy BOTH of the kids are home, it bothered Kay and Larry to no end, remarked on all of the time. I'm sure Colby is happy too.

And home is not to Lori nor anywhere she lived with them. And I think they'd choose that (the kids).

FINALLY some things for the families after such a long time. Convictions of Lori, movement on the other cases, Chad set to be tried not that far off and the KIDS home.

I haven't read this. Just saw it and adding to the thread.

Interesting. The trials being at the same time I picked up on just the other day. Brandon (and probably others) testifying in both is going to be difficult too even if both take weeks). I have to wonder too as to what may come out at one versus if it can affect or be used in the other.

I wonder if it wouldn't be best if they were entirely different times for each trial....

Of course the way things go, it remains to be seen if either will go off on time without delays... And if Lori moves for speedy in the AZ one, etc...

This is a good dialed in video and recap/reminder. I either forgot about Alex's clothing purchases or never knew... So a good detailed one from Linda.

She also had one about Chad's murder of Tammy prior to this one some days back I should have linked. If someone gets a chance, it too would be a good one to have on here. I have to get going or I would.

I caught this one last night, but I haven’t seen the other one. I’ll look around. Thanks for the heads up.

Here you go. 9 days ago. I hoped to watch it but haven't. Maybe I will leave it on now if I can get time to watch it all.

I think I caught part when I first saw it but didn't have time for it all.

She does so well at pulling the facts on each and matching time frames, etc.
