JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events
  • April 3, 2018 - Tylee Ryan's father, Joseph Ryan, dies. Death ruled heart attack.
  • December 2018 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow make first appearance on Preparing a People podcast.

Colby's interview with Ray Hermasillo airs today.

I’m halfway through this and I enjoy it because it’s a comparison of what a family is going through at the same time what the detectives are going through and what they think and what they don’t think about what’s going on. Much of it is what we were thinking.

I found it very worth watching as well. Colby hasn't followed everything either and he gets to really ask some things and both are very thoughtful on their points of view as opposed to how the other may have had to deal with it. It was GOOD imo.

That these two were CAUGHT is a thing in and of itself. People had to live this sh*t, LE itself and the years involved and various deaths.

When he was saying that each message was it they have to open every single one and go through them and can't do things side by side, etc. Sounded very tedious I'd agree. Then go back after finding all the relevant ones and try to match them up with the other phone and so on, sounded like a major headache.

I just realized I don't know what time here tomorrow to look for the closing arguments. I never really paid attention. It's a couple of hours later here always. I know they don't start real early. I don't think. I don't think they have the 1/2 delay either, I think it was like 5 minutes? I'm sure things will pop up on YT in the morning as to coverage at some point.

I think it was 5 minutes delay on announcing any jury decision. I think the closing statements will have the 30 minute delay as usual though.

Bringing forward this reminder. Got it?

11:29 a.m. A dispute over the facts wouldn’t apply to this rule, the judge says. He isn’t going to add it. Judge is now going to his office to make the adjustments to the instructions and he will have it for the parties by noon. On Monday, Lori will say she is resting in front of the jury. Instructions will be read to the jurors and then closing arguments will happen. Treena asks that officers be released from subpoenas. Judge says everyone can be released. Jury instructions will be read at 11 a.m. on Monday, we will then have lunch, then closing arguments will be read after lunch. Court will still begin at 10:30 a.m. but closing arguments will begin at 1 p.m.

Okay. I will figure it out in morning I'm sure. I think between having to catch up on watching the last day and the full weeks of it, I just didn't pay that much attn to the when tomorrow, etc. I did hear it, just didn't do the math and so on. That's IF she doesn't come in and think she is going to now present a defense too. Thank you!

I don't know why they'd delay verdict by even five minutes. I don't see a reason to do that, it isn't testimony, isn't Lori and so on.

Yes lol. Trying to get moving here a bit. I really put it off and daughter will be here in an hour and not even dressed. Appreciate the help! So closings here probably won't be til 3. That bites as I have an appt not long after that. I already changed it once so maintenance could come and THEN they didn't show up. Total waste changing the appt. I would have liked to watch closings live but I guess I'm probably not going to see both live. Or actually it is 3:30 I think with the 1/2 hour delay. I likely won't see any of it live. Kind of irks me since I've seen all else and MOST of it live. Oh well.

Thank you. I figured 2:30 for the closings so sounds right. Jury instructions will be earlier and they may cover if Lori will stick with the not putting on a defense.

Nate tonight. I missed the first 20 minutes but seems to be a recap with a bit of each witness throughout the trial the remainder I saw. He didn't really take on any questions to speak of at the end as he usually does, said he had to get to bed lol for tomorrow. Sounds like he will continue to do nightlies all week and hopes to get some interviews after for those that havent heard that so he is sticking around for some days after.

I have to laugh at some people's questions. Like in chat, I saw one that asked what if Lori is in the jail when the verdict comes in, will they do the verdict without her? Uhm NO. Maybe I shouldn't laugh but who doesn't know this? Must be a real newbie to trials. They will make sure she's back, although we have seen a trend where defendants have tried not to attend their trials, etc. but generally definitely no. Just as they will try to wait for family members and have to for both counsels. Just seemed kind of a silly question that gave me a bit of a laugh. She will hear her sentence.

So I am going back to the 20 minutes I missed in the beginning and he's calling it a speed run through the trial with a clip from each witness and kind of synopsis of what each said and of the trial. Not the full testimonies of course but probably a good recap for those who didn't or can't see all.

I think it is ALL there but the P needs to wrap it all together imo very well in closing and pound on each thing, etc. I can't even imagine the stress of a job like that honestly.
