According to documents filed Monday in Cass County Circuit Court, Oklahoma-based DNA Solutions must be allowed to access skeletal remains for both Kara Kopetsky and Jessica Runions, whose remains were found in rural Cass County in 2017.

Documents also say DNA Solutions must be allowed to test hair recovered from a white SUV in 2013.

All testing must be done at the DNA Solutions lab in Oklahoma, according to the documents. The evidence must be returned to the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office and Belton Police Department by April 30.

Jury selection for the trial is set to begin on July 22. Jurors will be brought in from St. Charles County, which is just outside of St. Louis. Once the jury is set, the trial will begin the following Monday.

Yeahhhh. Aren't they allowed to see documents, court transcripts, etc.? Seems a bit strange to say no.
I want to weigh in on this because I saw such. I don't know what happened or if it is nationwide or what it is. But during our trial, we were SHOCKED to find out the jury could not have exhibits, transcripts, ask for such things, etc. and had to rely on their notes and after days of testimony, NOTHING else. If good notes not taken... I was like you have got to be kidding me! It was such a hard time, a tense time and never knowing what to expect that I never really found why that is but it appears to be how it is now. Not sure if everywhere.

Now in the Floyd trial just recently without the jury present the judge and attorneys were going through something like that but in that case, it was certain things and exhibits would be allowed but not others, if the jury wanted them. Many not allowed.

I can't even describe how shocked I am these past maybe five years on how our system and rules change and have changed and us Joe Public are not informed nor ever aware of it... We see the light sentences, people released, no truth in sentencing any longer (where they had to serve their full term in prison), etc... Makes me so irate and frustrated.

We are definitely not getting all the news anymore. All we get is the same news over and over being regurgitated. Laws are being passed and we’re not even aware! It’s happening in my state, too.

I sure would like what the holdup is on this. I am not sure how anybody could doubt his guilt. It better be because of deliberating his degree of guilt

Yes. I start to get nervous when they take a while. This verdict seems.....not difficult......so I don't know. They're essentially deciding two cases, but really. Not sure how you can walk into that deliberation room after all of the information they saw and heard with anything other than, at the very least, leaning toward guilty.

I'm surprised we don't have a verdict. I have to wonder if they are negotiating different charges or an acquittal in one of the murders....Hopefully not both of them!

I am trying to figure out where they were going with this thought. Are they really basing this on if the correct county is prosecuting him? Otherwise I can't think of why this would matter with the way it is worded.

just to put in perspective of how Kylr was familiar with this area that the girls were found. Trey's grandmother provided a photo of Kyle and Trey at her house in 2008, which was just the next year after she disappeared. If the guys were in a band together by this time, they obviously had known each other previously AND it said that Trey had lived with Kylr right after graduation (which would have been around 2008ish)
