Pregnant woman missing in Hawaii: Army CID posts $10K reward

Mischa Mabeline Kaalohilani Johnson has not been seen since July 31, and the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has offered an incentive to help find her.

Johnson, a 5-foot-2-inch, 170-pound woman who is six months pregnant, was reported missing August 1, a day after she was last seen at her Schofield Barracks home in O’ahu, Hawaii.

There is now a $10,000 reward available for any credible information that can assist the CID in her recovery.

Officials say Johnson is the wife of a Schofield Barracks soldier. She has a prominent dragon tattoo on her back.

“She’s a member of the military family, so we want to make sure that she’s OK,” Army CID Special Agent in Charge Ruben Santiago told local NewsNation affiliate KHON.

“Right now, we just have a concerned family, a concerned husband, a concerned community that is wondering where Mischa Johnson is.”

Both photos shown are of Mischa. She was last seen on July 31, 2024.

Mischa is still missing and it is very, very quiet.
Here are a few Facebook groups for perusing.

Mischa Johnson Discussion And Updates

19-year-old pregnant woman from Schofield Barracks still missing after two weeks

Two weeks after a pregnant woman from Ewa Beach disappeared from Schofield Barracks, her family is expanding their search.

The mother and sister of 19-year-old Mischa Johnson spent the day putting up missing person flyers in Aiea. They tell HNN they are not giving up their efforts to bring her home.

Hundreds of flyers have gone up, and more are being printed to reach the Aiea and Pearl City areas.

“We just hit Waikiki this weekend. Now we’re getting like central Oahu,” said Marianna Tapiz, who joined her mother in putting up flyers on street poles and storefronts, places that would grab as many eyes as possible.

The Army’s criminal investigation unit is the lead on the case. Updates have been limited.

HNN asked the Army if there were any suspects or leads, and it did not answer our question.

In a full statement issued on Wednesday, U.S. Army Hawaii said:

Locating Mischa, support to the family, and the safety and security of all personnel at U.S. Army Hawaii installations remains our highest priority. As a result of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) actions dating back to when Mischa was reported missing, U.S. Army Hawaii officials currently assess no threat related to this ongoing investigation to Schofield Barracks and the U.S. Army Hawaii communities. We encourage anyone who may have information regarding Mischa Johnson to contact CID.

A $10,000 reward for information on Mischa’s whereabouts is still being offered.

Husband of missing mother-to-be arrested in connection with disappearance

In a new development, the family of a missing mother-to-be says her husband is the prime suspect in their daughter’s disappearance.

Mischa Johnson, 19, went missing from her Schofield Barracks home last month.

The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division confirmed that Johnson’s husband, Private First Class Dewayne Arthur Johnson II, was arrested.

They released the following statement on Monday: “As an update, an individual has been placed into military custody in the Mischa Johnson missing person case. Mischa Johnson’s husband, Private First Class Dewayne Arthur Johnson II, is currently in military pretrial confinement in Hawaii. PFC Johnson, from Frederick, Maryland, enlisted in the United States Army and attended one station unit training at Fort Moore, Georgia in November 2022. He was assigned to 25th Infantry Division in June of 2023 and serves as a Cavalry Scout (MOS 19D). Our efforts remain focused on locating Mischa, support to her family, and the safety and security of all personnel at US Army Hawaii installations. This is a current and ongoing investigation, and no further information is available at this time. We encourage anyone who may have information regarding Mischa Johnson to contact CID.”

The U.S. Army is giving a $10,000 reward for information on Johnson’s whereabouts.

Family members of Mischa Johnson speaking out on social media, blame husband for her disappearance

Family members of Mischa Johnson are speaking out on her disappearance.

One family member took to social media, calling out Johnson’s, Pfc. Dewayne Arthur Johnson II, blaming him for the loss of Mischa and her baby "Armani," saying he "strung" them along, pretending to help search for the 19-year-old mother-to-be over the past weeks.

The family issued the following statement on Monday:

“We entrust CID with the on going investigation of Mischas disappearance. My Family also would like to Thank the many Local Businesses and the Local Community for the tremendous support of any sightings, leads and posting of flyers.

We also would like to thank the numerous individuals and groups who have taken their own time to search for Mischa. We remain hopeful with the Best outcome. #Bring Mischa Home #JusticeforMischa”

Mischa’s husband was arrested in connection with her disappearance. On Monday, Aug. 19, a spokesperson with the Army’s 25th Infantry Division confirmed that Dewayne Johnson II was being held in pretrial confinement. It is still unknown what charges he will face.

Sources: Footage shows soldier bought tools, cleaning supplies before reporting pregnant wife missing

Investigators with the Army Criminal Investigation Division want to know more about 28-year old Dewayne Arthur Johnson II’s whereabouts between July 12 and August 1.

The Army soldier reported his pregnant wife missing on July 31.

Multiple sources tell Hawaii News Now that store surveillance videos show him purchasing tools and cleaning supplies prior to making that report.

Johnson has been detained and is being held at a military detention facility. He has not been charged with any crimes.

“We’re looking for ... those small details that we can fill those gaps in those timelines with,” said Ruben Santiago, special agent in charge for the Department of the Army Criminal Investigations Division.

Cadaver dogs were used to search their home at Schofield Barracks earlier this week.

“Somebody out there, we feel has more information that would be valuable to this ongoing criminal investigation,” Santiago said.

Family, friends and community members have been searching for Johnson on and around the military base.

Loved ones confirmed they received text messages from her phone after the July 12 date.

It’s believed that someone else sent those messages.

More searches are planned for this week.

Family confirms death of missing military spouse Mischa Johnson

The family of Mischa Johnson confirmed her death and that the missing person's case is now a murder investigation.

The family took to social media for a live video Thursday morning confirming the new details. The news comes after the military spouse was reported missing on from her home on Schofield Army Barracks on July 31.

The military has not officially confirmed her death. But in a social media livestream, Mischa’s family pleaded for answers.

"I can't even bury my daughter. Please don't fail Mischa. I'm asking, I'm pleading. Please, please come out. I hurt every day,” said Mischa’s mother, Frances Tapiz-Andrian.

Mischa was six months pregnant and was going to be a first-time mom to a girl she already named Armani Kitana.

Her husband, Pfc. Dewayne Arthur Johnson II, is in military custody in connection to her disappearance.

Family of missing woman, Mischa, tells what they know

The sister of 19-year-old Mischa Johnson, who has been missing since July, talked on Instagram about what they know of the investigation followed by a heartbreaking plea from Mischaʻs mom to help bring her daughter home.

Marianna, the sister of Mischa, shared information with IG page @alwaysalwayssupportlocal stating that Mischaʻs husband, PFC Dewayne Arthur Johnson II, was in custody on Ford Island for murder, murder of an unborn child, child sex abuse charges and obstruction of justice charges.

The timeline, as they know it, shows that Mischa was with her mom at Costco on July 11 and that appears to be the last time a member of her family saw her.

On July 12, Mischa called DJʻs mom to discuss his infidelity and, according to the family, from that point on they only had contact with Mischa via text.

DJ reported his wife missing on Aug. 1.

DJ was detained and put in military pretrial confinement on Aug. 7 and, according to the family, he has not been cooperative with CID.

CID told the family that, based on the evidence, they believe Mischa is no longer alive.

Investigators are looking for anyone who was in contact with DJ anytime between July 12 and August 1.

“Most people might think the smallest details aren’t important but that’s what we’re looking for,” Ruben Santiago, Special Agent in Charge, US Army CID told KHON2. “Any and all information where we can start filling in those gaps of that timeline.”

I hate to ask but, child sex abuse charges? Any insight?

Mother of Mischa Johnson pleads for public help to find daughter’s body

In a new development, the family of a pregnant Ewa Beach woman says her husband is not only suspected of her murder but also of making and distributing child pornography.

The military detained Schofield soldier 28-year-old Dewayne Arthur Johnson for the disappearance of Mischa Johnson last month but her body has not been found.

The Army is not saying much about the investigation, but Mischa’s family says they were told Johnson preyed on underaged girls and bought cleaning supplies before he reported her missing.

Mischa’s mother, Frances Tapiz-Andrian, broke down during an interview on social media while asking the public to help find her daughter.

Army charges husband of missing pregnant woman

Private First Class Dewayne Arthur Johnson, II was charged by U.S. Army counsel with charges related to the disappearance of his wife, Mischa Johnson.

“The general nature of the charges are providing false official statements, obstruction of justice, and the production and distribution of child pornography in violation of Articles 107, 131b and 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.”

The Army said the investigation is ongoing.

“We are confident that law enforcement will exhaust all efforts to find Mischa and the likelihood of additional charges is certainly a possibility as the case develops,” said Michelle McCaskill, a spokesperson for the U.S. Army Office of Special Trial Counsel.

“Shock, disbelief. I mean, he celebrated every milestone and had happiness with a joy, acceptance in the family,” Mischa’s mom, Frances Tapiz-Andrian said. “(Mischa and DJ) were inseparable. They were in love.”

They had no reason to doubt her son-in-law. But she said that changed once he was taken into custody and stopped cooperating.

Tapiz-Andrian told KHON2 that authorities told her there was a lot of forensic evidence found at their home suggesting that nobody would be able to come out of the situation alive.

Mischa’s family asking for video of red mustang along Kamehameha Hwy

One lead has come from multiple reports of seeing a red Mustang parked on the side of Kamehameha Highway, about two miles north of Schofield Barracks, and just south of Dole Plantation, near Poamoho stream bridge. The sightings were between July 14 and July 19.

Mischa’s mom said that could be a huge lead because there is no timeline from what Dewayne was doing between those dates. “So, if the car was there, he might have disposed the body there or did something there,” she said.

She said his car is a 2019 red Mustang with a Hawaii National Park license plate.

“We already know that Dewayne invited a female to his home on the 15th and already had relations with her on the 15th,” she added.

“That is big of her,” she said of the young woman. “For being an underage female, I have to give her credit, her bravery speaks. She heard my plea and she came out after that.”

Now she is asking others to do the same.

“Come out, come out please, do it anonymously, give as much details as you can, call the number,” she pleaded to the public about reporting any information regarding her disappearance.

“I understand [the mindset of] it’s not my business, but it is our business,” she added. “As a community, we have to keep Hawaii safe, for not only ourselves but those around us.”

She is upset to hear another person was killed on base on Oahu just last week.

“Domestic violence is prevalent on military bases whether it’s in the community or on military base, but there is no presence whatsoever of any services for women,” she said. “These women, spouses, partners who suffer from domestic violence rely on themselves and they don’t know where to turn to for help which is unfortunate.”
