An AMBER Alert has been issued for missing 1-year-old Royalty Grisby.

Authorities say Royalty was inside a car just before 2 a.m. Thursday with her mother, who was making a food delivery for Uber Eats to 1207 Harvest Dale Court in Stone Mountain, Georgia, when her SUV was stolen with her child in the back seat.

Two people jumped into the SUV and took off with the toddler inside, WSB-TV reported. Police are now searching for the maroon 2010 Nissan Armada with Georgia tag #RWW4748.

Stolen SUV found, 1-year-old girl still missing

DeKalb County police have found a stolen SUV that was taken early Thursday morning with a child inside, but police say the child is still missing.

Police issued an Amber Alert for 1-year-old Royalty Grisby, who was in the backseat of the vehicle as it was stolen in front of a home on the 1200 block of Harvest Dale Court in Stone Mountain. The vehicle was found off Young road in Stone Mountain around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

I don't entirely understand this. So he does a fake order to steal a car, any car I assume that delivers the food he intends to steal? She leaves the car running and the child inside? How can he count on the car will be running, the car unlocked or if not running, the keys in it? This is Georgia, was it extremely cold or hot that the car was left running for heat or air? At 2 in the morning?

I mean I get that maybe it is not uncommon for a delivery driver to leave a vehicle running and quickly deliver and leave but he could not be sure of that. She also could not be sure how long the delivery would take I wouldn't think... What was he going to do if he could not access the vehicle, attack her? Attack and take it when she got back in it? Hard to say...

She made a mistake and I am sure won't make it again after this. He is the one who did this though and what is his story? 14 years old, 2 in the morning, a license plate, no driver's license, a second someone with him, they clearly used someone else's credit card/account to order food...? Where were his parents? I guess they are finding out the hard way their son needs more oversight... Or they know and don't care...

You bring up the same questions I have.

You do as well? Sometimes I overthink things so it's good to know you wonder about the same things here. I don't know that we will get the answers either as the baby is safe and the perp is 14, a minor, and it will likely not stay in the news if at all past this point.

I also have questions re the other person with him, the dropping off of the baby, etc., where the baby was in the meantime...

I am relieved it was a happy outcome with a safe baby though.
