Amber Alert issued for pregnant teenager suspected to be with 40-year-old man​

An Amber Alert has been issued for a pregnant teenager who is believed to be with a 40-year-old man.

Sophia Franklin, 16, was last seen Sunday night at her home in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. She is three months pregnant.

Authorities believe she is with 40-year-old Gary F. Day, who is the father of Sophia’s unborn child. He was last seen at Sophia’s home Monday morning.

Day and Sophia have a no-contact order.

They are believed to be traveling in a 2014 model black Buick LaCrosse with Arkansas license plate BBR 20L.

Bond type 10%,! I figured it was maybe even a signature bond. WI can be notoriously low on bond and often signature bonds depending on the judge and area. Because of that i initially thought it was WI but earlier looked closer and figure it is Nebraska. WI Circuit Court Access can be checked to see if he has anything new. I may try but being honest i don't have it in me and if I do get an ounce of doing anything I've got a load of paperwork and other to do or life is going to fall apart soon. It is a free site.

Interesting it says call for bond conditions. I'd suspect he's got conditions like no contact with her and such again, but it didn't stop him last time and it won't so imo the bond should be higher. I mean look at all the charges listed even here. "Fugitive".

I'd be real curious what was said and done about bond and why so low. Could be a Nebraska thing, no idea.

It is probably looked at as he didn't hurt her (if he didn't) but just look at the charges, past record, violating a no contact order (which never seems to be taken seriously enough in this world), he was a wanted fugitive, didn't turn self in, etc. etc.

Hadn't seen your post yet when I was just saying the same. It's ridiculously low but not sure on Nebraska laws. WI can be notoriously low too but hopefully more is coming and fast?

I wonder if they still had his mom's car, were they staying at a motel or was someone helping them? He must have had cash if no one helping. I'd think anyhow...

Well it crossed minds they could have went further or in a different direction and so on I think but my guess would be there was no Amber Alert there, he didn't want to go too far, more chance of getting caught one the news was hitting and he had a warrant, and/or there was a place there or someone to help. He knew I'm sure they would look to Arkansas and Missouri so it makes an odd sense even if they knew no one there...

If it's the truth, a civilian recognized her so I'd think she or they were out and about, at least probably had to be to get things once in awhile...? Hard to say how much more we will learn.At least officially anyhow...

That bond is ridiculous! Doesn't the judge know this case is fairly public and people are going to think that? I don't speak for anyone else but it seems we all think so here. Maybe Nebraska has some limits on bond or some such. No idea.
 
One of my mantras (is that what such is called?) is idiots run the world. And I mean it with all types of heads of anything and so on. This judge whoever it is yeah, unless he was limited somehow on bond, it was a poor decision, the low bond, imo, and it seems like everyone's opinion here. Pretty unanimous.

So she is 17 now? This timing then is really a bit interesting... Was there any more on who saw her and where at, etc....?

What is the law in Nebraska I wonder on marrying and such at what age, what needed...

I'd look but I'm being brutally honest, can hardly type and so sore my hands/arm keep hitting the touch pad and almost breaking the posts of others etc., just not operating well I'm not. And I would NEVER break posts so then I have to go delete and so on. It's just not a time I can or it will take me longer because of such too. Having trouble on all tabs not just here because of inadvertently hitting touchpad for one. AND soreness. Sorry.

So she JUST had the 17th, meaning YESTERDAY?

Well that's good news, was my hope that they'd be slapping more pretty fast. That means he can't bond out right? Am I taking that right? If he does he'd be rearrested immediately? For the Feds or WI even?

True, so just part of the first day they could have been there so he/they had a plan OR they did it here and there over a few days and adjusted as LE said where the Alert was and so on, then Alerts plural. Will be interesting to here where they were, how they managed and so on, IF we get to hear such.

True. i'm thinking there may be a bit more to that part but not sure of course. The fact it was just her bday I find pretty interesting. Were they waiting for that day... I mean even all sides... Or even just them...

With a bit more info and time now, I'm thinking there's' more to it. I hope we get to find out.
 
Just checked and in Nebraska you need to be 19 to marry without parental consent but age 17 with parental consent.

So i wonder if the parents will now consent?

Getting married wouldn't do him any good with federal warrants out for him. That would likely leave a trail for them to find him. You have to show id to get a marriage cert for both of them.

Well i am thinking the parents could consent. Who knows? She's pregnant and about to give birth possibly in a month or two, they want to marry and ran off because of it so maybe it's a no brainer and the parents may just give in now.

He's in jail now and most likely will be for a while. Would you give your daughter permission to marry the guy that kidnapped her AFTER he was given an order to start away from her even AFTER he learned her real age? AFTER you had learned about his past, too? Oh, hellno!
