An Amber Alert has been issued for a pregnant teenager who is believed to be with a 40-year-old man.

Sophia Franklin, 16, was last seen Sunday night at her home in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. She is three months pregnant.

Authorities believe she is with 40-year-old Gary F. Day, who is the father of Sophia’s unborn child. He was last seen at Sophia’s home Monday morning.

Day and Sophia have a no-contact order.

They are believed to be traveling in a 2014 model black Buick LaCrosse with Arkansas license plate BBR 20L.

From some of the wording of when he was last seen, it sounds like they have camera evidence from somewhere, whether it be from her own home or close. That's probably how they know about the plates. It could also be a habit of his he's developed from other "extracurricular activities".

The suspect wanted in connection with an Amber Alert involving a 16-year-old pregnant Beaver Dam girl was charged Tuesday in Dodge County with two counts of abduction of a child and two counts of child enticement.

Sophia Franklin is believed to be with 40-year-old Gary Day of Cabot, Arkansas. A criminal complaint just released details their history.

Her parents told Beaver Dam police she had been using various phones and electronic devices to communicate with strangers online. They said she had been sneaking out of the house.

Franklin began communicating with Day online in April 2024, and her family did not see her from July until December. According to the criminal complaint, they believed she was still in the Beaver Dam area.

According to the complaint, Franklin said Day came and got her on July 29, and they got to Arkansas on Aug. 1.

In December 2024, she was found to be in Arkansas with Day.

When her parents were contacted by police in Arkansas in December, they were shocked to learn she was there.

She returned home, but on Monday, Feb. 3, Franklin's father reported her missing again.

The father sent surveillance video to police that showed a man, appearing to be Day, walking near his house at 7:48 a.m. Monday.

The man is dressed in black pants, a black long-sleeve shirt and a gray winter hat. The man is seen walking up the driveway and then running as he reaches the rear of the house, the complaint says.

So she was living with him (voluntarily or not) and became pregnant in that time. This at least makes a bit more sense now.

OOF. He is into very young girls. We're talking 15 when she first disappeared. No telling how long it was actually going on prior to the parents knowledge of him being in the picture.
 
I could have "possibly" given him a pass the first time, as she very well could have told him she was 18 at the time. He 100% knows now that she is not. No passes given now at all.

Franklin told police Day knew from the beginning of their relationship that she was 16 years old.

Okay so he wasn't charged with statutory rape in her case as she claimed they were only physical once reaching Arkansas. I know WI is 18, sounds like Arknasas is not.

Her parents have their hands full with her. It would seem they have a grandbaby on the way as well.

I hope the sister is a better behaved kid for their sake.

I guess this one is looking bound to learn everything the hard way. . And she seems to want to be with the ugly, evil, old minor molesting creep. Now she's going to be tied to him for the rest of her life through a child. No undoing that. Yep, going to find out all the hard way.

Good chance they gave up on her, or just decided to live in denial. I mean why would you believe your child was staying with a friend with the history they'd had with her? Preferred to believe it and have her off their hands I guess...?

Maybe that's unfair but it kind of looked that way. The only reason she was back home is because AR LE had a call about him and found her there, probably took her name, add age, etc. The parents weren't looking for her. Then cops probably brought her back to her parents. What did he do that LE was called on him that time..?

Not entirely unsympathetic to the parents though, she seems like a handful then they have the evil creep in the picture..
 
So I read on FB which I did not install on my laptop only my phone.....that he had her for MONTHS "last time he took her" why is he not charged with that until now? HOW WAS HE NOT LOCKED UP!!!!????
