AMBER Alert issued for missing 5-year-old out of Hawkins Co.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a statewide AMBER Alert for a missing 5-year-old girl from Rogersville in Hawkins County Wednesday morning.

Officials with the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WVLT News that Summer Moon-Utah Wells went missing Tuesday night. Sheriff’s Office officials are asking for the public’s help locating the child.

Summer Wells has blonde hair and was last seen wearing grey shorts and a pink shirt on Ben Hill road, officials said. She has been missing since 7 p.m. Tuesday.

TBI officials said Summer Wells may now have shorter hair than that pictured in earlier alerts.

The one with the milk is the one that catches my eye. It appears to be in a vehicle and she appears to not be buckled in. It *might* be that they are parked, but it still caught my attention. Kid's hair gets messed up as soon as it gets brushed, so I can't judge on that and we have no idea who's house that pic was taken in.

I noticed the thinness, the milk as well and the hair. I did note all of them, it is just hard to say yet if they mean anything or nothing at all. I too thought the milk looked as if it might have been in a vehicle. As to messy hair, I have a picture of my daughter on Easter morning holding her Easter basket with her hair all not combed and tangled. It's one of my favorites. She took of looking for it all sleepy and excited, in pajamas, messy hair. My gd also has fine hair and she would be sent to school with it all nice and by the time she came home it was a tangled mess when little lol. Or if I had her, I literally could comb/brush out her hair 20 times a day.

The short hair I wondered about, it's very short. I thought of cancer, lice, even injury where the head may be shaved for surgery...

For me, I am taking a wait and see, these things were notable but they also could mean nothing. The milk picture could even just mean they ran for milk and thought it was cute she fell asleep against the gallon of milk. There are also two very nice pictures where she is dressed nicely with her hair done, etc., even in the one the hair looks short, they added a band with a bow.

I just don't get the feeling this was a stranger or she ran away or hiding somewhere.
Well I knew nothing but what is here but just ran into a Youtube one on this. Haven't watched it but reading some comments and stuff. I gather many questioning and there is more info out there of the variety you would find on social media profiles, talk, etc.

There is nothing here from LE or enough info to really say one way or the other but I will say there is almost too little info... Even the circumstances of when she went missing, how, etc... My radar is up and where is the info. Have they had any hints with dogs? Which direction did she go? Who saw her last and what was she doing? All of that kind of thing. Not sure if my memory serves but isn't this the case that said her siblings saw her last?

I still pray she is found but any scenario does not seem overly promising. Even if in the woods. But it is warmer weather so there is still a chance.

Tennessee AMBER Alert: TBI receives 50 leads in search for missing 5-year-old Summer Wells
The TBI has received approximately 50 leads in the search for Summer, but none of the tips have panned out so far.

“The circumstances surrounding Summer’s disappearance remain unclear,” TBI Spokesperson Leslie Earhart said at a Thursday news briefing. Adding, “The longer this goes, the more concerned we get.”

So far, search teams have covered a one-mile radius from the home by ground and four miles in aerial searches. Besides the boots on the ground scouring the area, helicopters, drones and four different K9 units are assisting in the search.

At this time, there are no official suspects or persons of interest in the disappearance.

“Everybody’s a person of interest until we find Summer,” Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson said. “The most important thing is that we find Summer.”

'Everything's on the table' as authorities continue search for missing Hawkins County 5-year-old

Despite extensive ground and air searches and the help of some 19 agencies from around Tennessee, authorities were no closer Thursday afternoon to figuring out where a 5-year-old Hawkins County girl might be.

"We had hoped to have good news to share with you by now," TBI spokeswoman Leslie Earhart said during a 1 p.m. Thursday briefing from the scene. "Unfortunately, we do not."

Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson said searches for Summer Wells continue, despite radio communications challenges, and all options for what happened to the blonde-headed child are being considered.

"Everything’s on the table. We're looking at everything," Lawson said.

She is the youngest of four children, Lawson said.

Coup said some may have wondered why neighbors didn't see more of Summer before she disappeared.

Homes in the area are spread out, sometimes from hilltop to hilltop. Housing is not densely concentrated, he said.

I don't think it's fair to judge this family based on 4-5 pictures of their child. So her hair is short? Maybe she got gum in it. So the kitchen is messy? If that's an indication of how much you love your child then damn. A lot of us have some work to do.

They've said her siblings were with her playing outside before she disappeared. If that's not true, I'm sure they've figured that out by now. But as of now, every indication is still that they (LE) believe that Summer walked away on her own. Maybe something happened to her after that. But asking for people to check their trail cameras, outbuildings, and places a child could hide indicate their thinking so far.

Could I be wrong and they're absolutely laser focused on the family? Sure. But I don't think anything released by LE or the media have given us any indication of that. Just because they haven't released every detail of the search doesn't mean they're hiding things.

If I'm wrong, attack them all you want. But every indication right now is that a family's 5-year-old child is missing/lost and searchers are desperate to find a LIVE Summer.

It concerns me that they've only been able to cover a 1-mile radius when we know kids can move fast and much further than that. The terrain is very very tricky, but she is also very small. And if lost and scared, probably very determined to keep going through it.

For me, I am not leaning in a direction or judging. LE has shared little so it is hard to say. I don't follow SM nor on most cases do I go look for other info, even with Youtube. But at times I do in watching something else, or looking for something, come across a video or comments under one on one case or another. That happened today.

There is some info out there it sounds as if can be confirmed, nothing big or telling, just as to why her hair was short, where dad is, who called this in, if she went missing when said, or rather if they know this is when she went missing for sure, etc. It is said the remarks made re this things can be confirmed but because I don't have links to confirm it and it was only said, I am not going to put the details on what was said about each of these things on here. There are also many other pictures that came from social media accounts, etc. of the child, of mom, and more and people out there are judging on far more pictures than the four we have here.

None of it though really tells us anything or what may have happened and the important thing is that she gets found. One could have a great attentive family whose child wanders off in a moment, neglectful parents whose child wanders off and they don't know when or they do, or as we know too often is the case, the story could be false and something else really happened. It could be anything and nothing we know thus far really says what happened other than there is a child missing.

For me, I am nowhere on it. I am not condemning family or assuming there is foul play but I never take the initial story as fact either as we often see it turns out otherwise. Even after seeing some other info and comments, it still is nothing to indicate what may have happened, in any direction.

One thing I am betting on (not that I know, just assuming) is that LE knows more or if there is any reason to lean in any direction or any red flags. They have likely interviewed family, siblings if allowed, etc., asked the last time she was seen by others and all of that.

One thing I did see which I think I probably can mention is that this is allegedly the same county where Evelyn Boswell "went missing". Someone said, and it makes sense, to rest assured this LE is taking this seriously and will stay at it and get to the bottom of things as they did in the Boswell case. In other words, no reason to question law enforcement and their dedication to finding this child.

There is no reason to attack me. That's my observations. Isn't that what we do here?. And saying some have work to do. My mom kept a perfect house and worked 40 hrs a week and so did I. Well I am so sorry I am white trash and I am on disability and had to give up my career.

I was the first probably to remark on a photo and that in the one photo she appeared thin. I made it clear I thought that it could be a growth spurt and that it was only an observation. I never said malnourished, neglected, underweight, failure to thrive or anything. I felt a need to say it again later and explain that I was not judging and that it could be a growth spurt. (I have a grandchild that is a bean pole and sprouts upwards I swear six inches every week before his weight can keep up and fill out, and yet can eat one out of house and home).

I make observations and like to discuss. I wouldn't follow or be here if I couldn't and that's a fact. I left JT because of that and more.

Not trying to get into anything here, and I think we all only care the child is found safe like in all cases, but I don't think anyone said anything wrong here with any observation on photos or otherwise.

And JMO. To get to what really upsets every single one of us and we can agree on, is that they find this child safe. I am trying to have hope but in that regard, I am not quite 50/50 in whether she will be found safe or not. I do have some hope and just trying to maintain it.

I don't like where this may be heading.

Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson said Wells' parents reported her missing around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, but authorities do not know exactly when she was last seen.

Sheriff Lawson added that Wells' father has a criminal history but it is not relevant to this case.

"Everybody is a person of interest, until we find Summer," Lawson said.

I'm more worried about why she wandered off. God forbid my granddaughter ever go missing. She is petite, genetically thin, and has this amazing wild hair. Lol.

Well now it has been said so I will say that is one thing I saw today. That LE is not sure when she was last seen or at least can't confirm it. Also saw that dad has a criminal history. Also, allegedly it was not the parents who called her in missing, it was another family member (note I said allegedly with that). The only other thing I will add is that there are I believe Tik Tok pics etc. and many but one of the mother more than a few are talking about as to the shape she was in.

I will leave it at that because again, none of it means or shows what happened or may have happened to her and to go on about those things won't help the focus on finding her but may or could play in later. This is an area with some terrain and wilderness and for that reason I guess, I feel it possible--more than like in some cases where a two year old goes missing in a city or so the story goes in some, I go yah, right, I don't think so with no one noticing and no cameras on any city block??? This could be anything from not attentively watching a child to worse or even her being attentively watched and in a rare moment, she just took off... And it could be what we see I feel even more often...

Regarding Tik Tok. The shape the mother was in? What's wrong with her?

God forbid anyone's child goes missing or grandchild or nephew, etc. Yes, it doesn't necessarily mean anything. It may and it may not. And not everyone's ways and standards are the same. Nor locale, etc. We are just looking from the outside in in every case knowing little trying to guess/decipher, I do it. Jmo.
