Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

Oh my goodness where to start on this one?? Her husband is still with her? That man needs to get a CLUE. She looks like a doorknob, acts like a doorknob, lies, screws around, blows off federal officers and her own family is sticking up for her so you can see where she likely gets her juvenile and ridiculous behavior. Took restitution or victim's aid, credit cards paid off by people thinking she was truly missing and more. Her family and her husband WOW. She ain't that special or isn't at all if this is her character.

This is a 39 year old not some teeny bopper! What an immature boob. As LE says they worried a community both for her and fear of who was around that had taken her, she defrauded, she cheated and lid about it, faked bruises and injuries and more. As they also said in a day and age with fear of human and sex trafficking, she takes all of this effort and time by LE and money meant for VICTIMS, REAL VICTIMS. And her family and husband defend her??

Wow.

I knew nothing of this case but it should be blasted to all corners of the earth. I don't do SM or I would share the heck out of this. She deserves it imo.

And she has had every opportunity to come clean or have some remorse. Where do people like this and her family and husband come from? They act as if SHE is the victim here.

Oh and like so many liars of course her abductors were Hispanic. Otherwise it is generally black. And we have Ms. blonde lily white standing with a lei in front of palm trees and a boat, etc. Not a knock at blondes nor whites, just that ones who lie about abductions, someone else killing their wife, someone robbing or raping them, etc., it is almost ALWAYS who they think of as what a bad guy or woman would be.... They never say it was I think a white banker who did this to me...

Anyhow, what a CASE they ALL are.

Lol. I sure hope they weren't trying to get the head back of someone who wasn't supposed to be in there... Did they know what they were after or just stealing something...? What would thiefs want with a box of heads...

Could be but not enough to be sure. They did break into it. Not like it was just open and they had an opportunity. The box did say "science care." Not enough info. Sounds like questions of why it was parked in that neighborhood and neighbors in the area wonder the same....

Neighbors, meanwhile, are wondering whether the suspect intended to steal the remains, or something else entirely.

I mean how are heads transported? Would they be in jars or in a cooler...? They just throw them in a box? It all sounds a little odd...

it also could have just been very opportunistic, like porch pirates. They just go up and steal it without knowing or caring what is in it at the time.

True, could be either. Guess we won't know until more comes out, if it does. You'd just almost think such things wouldn't be untended. Or shouldn't be. I mean I guess I wouldn't expect a Brink's armored truck but it is human body parts... I mean did the driver just park and go in somewhere for a visit or something...
