Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

Investigators looked into dozens of murders over several states that matched Goble’s pattern, including Nona Cobb’s, according to The Courier-Tribune.

Four of those murders were in North Carolina alone; they remain unsolved today.

But in 1995, Goble was excluded as a suspect in Cobb's death when his DNA did not match the semen collected from Cobb’s body, per the Journal. Prison records show Goble is currently serving a life sentence in Tennessee.

Investigators wouldn’t catch a break in Cobb’s murder for another 26 years.

“In April of 2021, special agents from the SBI’s Cold Case Investigation Unit and investigators from the Surry County Sheriff’s Office returned to the physical evidence in the case, which was reexamined to include DNA,” wrote the State Bureau. “While working with Dr. Colleen Fitzpatrick, founder of Identifiers International LLC, agents were able to identify Warren Luther Alexander as a possible suspect in Cobb’s murder using DNA.”

Alexander was arrested in Diamondhead, Mississippi, on Tuesday and booked into the Hancock County Jail on charges of murder, according to the State Bureau. Authorities say they’re looking into the possibility of more victims.

Authorities did not reveal if they were looking into possible connections between Alexander and the unsolved North Carolina murder cases in which Goble was previously a suspect, as reported by the Journal. As of 2015, those murders included an unidentified woman’s skull found in Asheboro in the late 1990s, an unidentified woman last seen at a Burlington rest area in 1990, a sex worker named Cheryl Mason who was found in Guilford County in 1991, and an unidentified woman found in Guilford County in 1995.

I shared about this some days back. I have been sucked into this one and may start a thread if ever getting around to it.

He is upset beyond belief that he was arrested and charged and yet this man was told by his wife and so much more and now it seems to be coming out that he also lied about ever leaving the car on and air running. His wife had told him to quit leaving the kds in the car, and also the wife seems to stand by him. He is bawling over self in this and i've never seen him do so over the daughter.

And was playing VIDEO GAMES FOR GOD'S SAKE. AND ALL of his children, even one from a former relationship or marriage said this was something he did with all of them. And this is AZ summer HEAT!!

I am sorry but WHY is mom enabling or excusing him here? SERIOUSLY. The kids apparently have all been honest how this was a thing with him.

He is now charged with first degree murder.

And we have the mom in law here too having a fit, that seriously, he is suffering over his daughter...

Yes, the throes of such grief are beyond. BUT MIL GET A RREAKING CLUE. Is he an imbecile and going to use a video games took over new defense? He is a PARENT? Listen to the mother in law here. I GET that they are all reeling and it is early days.

And I'm not going to go too far here on this part, but you knew he did this, you told him to quit doing this, all his own kids and theirs have said something like I forget at least 59 instances. IN AZ! I've been there TWICE.. I know the HEAT and can't imagine it in a CAR. And he lied. He never checked on her and now it seems the car was not even on to begin with with the air on. So WHAT is wrong here with mom and mom in law? Serious enabling and excuses.... And MIL is giving it to the cops how he is suffering, he just lost his daughter... But first tears or real I have seen since that happening are for himself!!!

NO ONE is this much of an idiot and you are a doctor but you leave your kids with him if he just isn't capable and there's no hint of that, I'm saying that will likely come next, some video game defense or some such. In fact the wife texting him while en route with Parker to the hospital (long dead I'm sure), how many TIMES have I TOLD you to quit leaving the kids in the car?? And every kid he has confirmed such behavior.

So mom in law and wife may be in the flux of losing all and grief, child gone, him arrested, etc. but what the heck is wrong with them here??? Excuses for this, was it always this way? The kids are more honest and they seem to be enablers. I don't know but telling you this one is something else...

I am sooooo mad at this one. Because all that has come out was this was a habit, all lies, and the wife and mother in law are excusing him imo. Let me tell you, you don't leave eve a DOG in a car in summer in WISCONSIN, much less a CHILD in MN. Wife and gma are enablers at minimum if you ask me and she lost her babysitter, a loser of one.

I'm sure the grief plays in and they don't need more BUT all he said is coming out to be lies and what is with these women lately who stand by men who murder?

And I would not say that as to how this started out but he knew every bit of what he was doing. I have been in Phoenix in MARCH and OMG over 100. And I was not in an enclosed car, I was at a hotel near a pool (NOT IN IT) and it was beyond.

They have made the right charge here and so have they upping it to first degree and I'm not sure the mom had better not watch her support of him... She KNEW he was doing this, warned him, yet left them with him and he did such with ALL of the KIDS. .

His only tears have been for self.

I am seriously waiting for the video game defense and I was overwhelmed and needed my own snacks and to put my food away.

I may be as or more disgusted with mom and MIL or equally with him.

So poor man, he is being treated like a murderer and just lost his baby per him. New one since the last one I saw and shared above. Just watching now, hours ago it was on. And this is just outside Tuscon which is farther south than Phoenix and in JULY.

He has been checking on her, my God he says. NO HE WAS NOT. NEVER CHECKED. NEVER LEFT THE AIR ON EVEN FOR THE automated 30 minutes.

Wife is an anesthesiologist I guess, was said a doctor, which I guess is, butt this is graphic and new, I am just now watching and she knew she was dead, doctor after all and he is freaking out.

This is ARIZONA IN JULY. In A CAR. SOUTHERN AZ.

OMG he says she was not asleep more than 35 to 40 minutes and the air was on for most of it.... NOT. ALL FALSE.

Now here is a case where I do doubt he meant to kill his youngest child BUT then he has his dogs outside in the hot heat. This one, all of these vids need to be watched to realize the deal here. And he is poor me. His family is ruined. He is crying for self, etc. OMG seriously. And like he is arguing with the cops here, he wants to shower and they won't let him, this sis after daughter died, In fact he is pretty calm at times and he wants to shower. Officer said no.

I'm still waiting for instance on the KC Chiefs fan case where the drugs came from and who procured them. Same thing. Nothing. Silence.

The minute you said horse tranq it rang a bell. Never know of it as a substance of abuse but ringining bells on some very old caaes where maybe someone poisoned someone with such or made them immobile, etc.? Am I thinking of the right thing?

Once it can be used to get a high then the price goes up. It was around as long ago as the Vietnam war.

Also the article above (see extract below) explains how much these doctors were charging, while calling Perry a moron. They were charging him $11,000 for vials costing only $12.


"Plasencia allegedly worked with Chavez to obtain ketamine and with Iwamasa to distribute that ketamine to Perry. Over two months, they distributed approximately 20 viles of ketamine to Perry in exchange for $55,000 in cash, Estrada said.

"Plasencia saw this as an opportunity to profit off of Mr. Perry," Estrada said, noting that the doctor allegedly wrote in text messages, "I wonder how much this moron will pay," and that he wanted to be the actor's "go-to for drugs."

The vials cost the doctors $12 but they were selling them for $2,000 a vial to Perry, authorities said.


As a doctor, Plasencia "knew the danger of what he was doing" and allegedly told another patient that Perry was "spiraling out of control with his addiction," Estrada said.

"Nevertheless, he continued to offer ketamine to Mr. Perry," Estrada said.

The other lead defendant, Sangha, is accused of selling 50 vials of ketamine for approximately $11,000 in cash over two weeks to Perry, working with Fleming and Iwamasa to distribute the drugs to Perry, according to Estrada. She is accused of selling Perry the batch of ketamine that killed him.

They didn’t want anyone to know there was an investigation going on. They were probably using undercover cops.

The investigation is over and very soon after the arrests, people started making plea deals. They probably have A LOT of evidence.

I'm sure the victim being a popular celebrity had something to do with it too.
