Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

He didn't try to "traffic" her, rather possibly "pimp" her out because the child's mother is an adult, not a minor who agreed to travel with this person.

The way I understand it with an adult is if there is a third party (like a pimp) that would benefit and if someone tries to force or coerce the prostitution which certainly sounds like the case here. If she was prostituting herself out, it would not be trafficking.

I can look it up and try to find a link if necessary but I am fairly certain. In fact, it is one reason trafficking sounds so rampant these days as they did not used to call this situation that.

We don't have all of the facts but since he told her the gf was his sister, and offered her up to babysit, I am almost guessing she thought she was on a "date" with this guy or why the need to call the gf his sister. That though is speculation on my part...

Man charged with murder in connection to 1988 kidnapping of Michaela Garecht three decades after she vanished from California supermarket​

David Misch, 59, is charged with murder and two special circumstances, including murder during the course of a kidnapping and having been convicted of a previous murder, Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O’Malley announced at a press conference on Monday.

Misch is currently facing other charges in Alameda County for the 1986 murders of two women in Fremont, and is currently serving time in state prison for the 1989 murder of another woman in the Hayward area.

Misch is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, December 22.
 
Wow, the death penalty and capital murder. I have to wonder what other info was possibly heard here or if it is just due to the age, etc. I think considering his dad was injured too, one has to wonder if this was accidental at all.

Is there somewhere a picture of this guy? I hope this will help her mother, all this suffering...I found this case always especially disturbing. 😕

I didn't realize this news was already posted here or forgot it was the same one posted. I am not really familiar with the case but in these articles they say they have never found her and she went to retrieve a scooter? How sad. So does the sketch compare?

He has clearly killed more than a few. Another very evil POS and I'm glad he is off the street.

I am extremely bad when it comes to resemblences, but I think it's possible. I wish Michaela could be located and brought back home. 🙏
