Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

I am watching Scott (Crime Talk). He is a CO defense atty. He is talking about a major DNA person, name is Missy Woods, who is in big trouble... Something like 52 counts of forgery, 48 counts of trying to influence a public servant, 1 count of first degree perjury and 1 count of cybercrime. I was only half listening but seems like there are a number of cases she may have fudged things on and people who may be wrongfully convicted, I did not catch all that but believe so, or at least it's possible. This is a pretty big deal per Scott... He's dealt with her, she is well known, been in the job a long time...

He also touches on Kohberger, then I believe this Missy Woods stuff comes on and Delphi is supposed to be on here too but I haven't gotten that far yet. I had it with the cooking and HAD to listen to something else to calm down lol. I was very upset over enchiladas.

Yeah Scott always has multiple case updates on his videos. I like that but it makes them hard to post in all relevant threads and some only want an update on one case maybe... I try to get time stamps when I can but I don't always do it nor put them in all relevant threads. This one had Kohberger, Delphi, Daybell, the arrested DNA lady from Colorado and I think that's all plus the dumb criminals of the day which are always a bit amusing OR maddening and pathetic depending...

I hadn't heard a thing about this. What were these two doing or up to??? She's with a German National in Vermont? She is from Washington State but they are in Vermont.

They sure didn't want to call attention to selves (BULL) running around in tactical gear with guns showing.

Her parents must be proud. I hope they get a chance to kiss her good bye. She's now a cop killer, she's going away. Maybe he was a border patrol agent but same thing, she's a cop killer.

She's a federal cop killer. He was a federal agent. She's in more than the usual hot water.

No argument here. I just meant they are all "cop" killers though and yes, federal would be even more big time. Her parents will probably have to blow her that kiss, they won't get near her ever more than likely.

I don't know what some of these kids get into but this one sure made the wrong choices...
