Senior Deputy Christopher Korzilius was killed in a vehicle crash in the 7700 block of RM 2244 at 6:50 am.

His unmarked department vehicle collided with another car and overturned, trapping him inside. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Deputy Korzilius had served with the Travis County Sheriff's Office for four years and was assigned to the VICE Unit.

Trooper Justin Schaffer was struck and killed by a fleeing vehicle while attempting to deploy stop sticks during a vehicle pursuit .
The man continued to flee until stopping and barricading himself inside his vehicle several miles later. He was taken into custody by Thurston County deputies.

As you pray for the fallen, can you say a prayer for an officer that survived a brutal ambush in 2016 that killed 3 officers and hospitalized 3 others. Officer Nick Tullier was severely injured and is still very disabled by his injuries and requires 24 hour care. He has brain injuries, lost the use of his arms and legs, still has a trach and feeding tube in place and is blind in one eye and has very limited ability to speak. He has to use a wheelchair to be transported. After years in the hospital, he is home. If you wish to visit the fb page that his dad set up to give updates and to pray with them, here it is. It is Nick Tullier Strong. What Nick survived is nothing less than a miracle.

Smh. They try to save him from suicide and he kills one of them. Well he made his choice and hopefully he hates every day of the rest of his life (I would think) in prison. Prayers to her loved ones.
