Karen Read accused of backing into boyfriend and leaving him to die *MISTRIAL*

This woman didn't do this. I'd be willing to bet that someone in the house did it. Someone in the house looked up "How long will it take for somebody to die in the cold." Karen couldn't have done that search.

Is there a cover up conspiracy?

Another juror has spoken out with their reaction to Wednesday's hearing. Victoria George, who is an attorney herself and was an alternate juror in Read's first trial, sent the following to WBZ-TV.

"I was a fair-minded juror who left this trial questioning the integrity of the system long before the defense filed a motion to dismiss with allegations of jury tampering. It is the Read case itself—and the fact that it is still being brought—that has left many in Massachusetts wary, distrustful, and scared of our system. As a lawyer, this reality saddens me even more because I remember how much faith I had in our system as an optimistic law student."

"Mr. Brennan made an impassioned argument today regarding his alleged concern that some might be questioning the 'fabric of our entire judicial system.' If he truly would like to address that problem, I have a few suggestions," she added.

"Perhaps the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office should be more focused on remedying the systemic issues plaguing it and affiliated police departments rather than continuing to spend millions of taxpayer dollars prosecuting a case with so many evidentiary issues that it calls into question whether they are even following their ethical obligations as prosecutors. The Commonwealth has a duty to protect the rights of defendants, and I, for one, would love to see them do so."
It definitely clouded my judgement of what can go on in an "investigation" and how many people can conspire together and these are the people that are in charge of investigations.

It's those on the jury who stood by their decision of guilt who reinforce my faith in the system.
That's a good point. They also unfairly let the jury think the experts were not paid nor the opinions had been "discussed".

They're on the defense these days and the recent motion is to try to get their footing back. Pretty sure you don't do a lot of YT but as I've said Scott is a very sane one to watch re this case, he shows no bias and will go either direction.

He thinks the recent TV interview they did was a really bad idea by the D attorney. Said he would never let a client do that or advise them not to, but the atty went on TOO lol.

I've also watched most of the recent hearings and they aren't doing well. People on their side in chats are saying shut up already, STOP. Seriously. Paid by the hour I guess... It's protesting too much though. MAKE your point and be done.

Sanctions are going to come, I'd bet on it, but likely after trial. This is not going to be the same trial at all.

Back to your point, yes, it takes a good person to stand their ground, strong ethics, beliefs and bent on doing what they think right instead of "going along".

or were they just determined to not change their minds? Why are you not faithful of those that thought she was not guilty, those that sat through the actual trial and didn't just read hightlights? Why do they hold no clout with you?

Because I know there's pressure on jurors just ordinarily but in this case, it was those jurors who I believe surely must have been under tremendous pressure to acquit.

I get your point. All jurors have a big job and a tremendous weight, that's a given, but even more so when juries are divided and pressure possibly put on by others to acquiesce. That would take some real inner strength and belief.

Bederow won't be joining the D team, denied.

Remember not to shoot the messenger. Just keeping things somewhat up to date.

The vast majority wanted to acquit, it seems. There are some jurors who will walk into the trial's first day with their minds already made up. They'll refuse to listen to reason.

I was concerned when they'd heard testimony of witnesses of how they'd actually been subjected to stalking and other means of harrassment by Read supporters- that witnesses were actually heckled as they left the courthouse after testifying, that they would be intimidated.

I really don't think the prior jurors are relevant at all now as this is a brand new trial.

They probably should sequester this jury to protect them this time.

What about protecting the rights of victims?

For the record, whether jurors matter has absolutely nothing to do with what I said.
Understand, but I was answering Guess Who asked why the majority of jurors didn't matter. I also said, in another post, that none of the prior jurors matter now, so i am glad the gag order is out so they cannot pontificate about the case anymore.

Glad we can still pontificate though, Ha Ha .

Well, I wasn't sure whether you even knew what I said, let alone what I meant, lol.

Re gag order, it's as though the judge heard you, lol and indeed, it's about damned time.
