Karen Read accused of backing into boyfriend and leaving him to die *MISTRIAL*

This woman didn't do this. I'd be willing to bet that someone in the house did it. Someone in the house looked up "How long will it take for somebody to die in the cold." Karen couldn't have done that search.

Is there a cover up conspiracy?

DM article about the gag order.

Brennan said 'the ongoing, deliberate, purposeful poisoning of the potential jury pool is not only wrong and unfair, it needs to be stopped'.'

An order limiting extrajudicial statements of counsel is both appropriate and necessary to ensure a fair and impartial trial and finds that no reasonable, less restrictive alternative to the order is available.'

However, Read will still be free to say whatever she wants, which she celebrated by saying 'I like talking. I like to reveal the truth' after the hearing.
Cannone last month dramatically ended proceedings with a shaky courtroom outburst, citing 'evidence' she said changes everything.
The evidence related to claims the defense may have secretly paid expert witnesses who the jury believed were working independently.
'The implications of that information may have profound effects on this defense and defense counsel,' she told the court.

Well, I wasn't sure whether you even knew what I said, let alone what I meant, lol.

Re gag order, it's as though the judge heard you, lol and indeed, it's about damned time.
Trouble is, having just read the DM article, it looks like it only covers the lawyers, so the accused and probably prior jurors can still comment, which is not ideal. That doesn't get allowed at all here in the UK.

I was concerned when they'd heard testimony of witnesses of how they'd actually been subjected to stalking and other means of harrassment by Read supporters- that witnesses were actually heckled as they left the courthouse after testifying, that they would be intimidated.
And then the trial itself too, trial by ambush, witnesses had to deal with that inside and out, and a jury not having a clue the experts were paid and what they would say talked of ahead of time.

KR will seem to appreciate them now as it is what that's all about, a big PR campaign but she's not some Hollywood star, we've seen it there enough times. They seem to appreciate them when walking past as it's all a show but she'll never be buddies with her nutty supporters who missed work or don't have a job I guess who are outside the courthouse.

It's more often these days the defense tainting the jury pools and they want to try it by poisoning and PR and publicity.

I've watched most of the recent hearings. No one can possibly watch the D for their hours on end without getting sick of it, even the supporters. I guess they're making a paycheck though. The more hours at high rate, the better. Protesting way too long and much though. Imo.

I'm up on it, watched the recent hearings but have also had to find a sane one, Scott, as I had to in Delphi, Tom.

If you have Max streaming, there is a series called "Body in the Snow". It's all about this case. There are free ways to watch it. If you don't have Max. You'll have to Google for how. They've dropped two episodes so far. I'm just about to watch episode one.

It appeared on ID last night but i fell into a podcast and fell asleep lol

There was a hearing today but I did not pay attention to it..... Only that they are shopping for an ME because they aren't going to call the one who did the work on the body??? i'm baffled by that

They obviously don't agree with the findings. It was blunt force trauma to the back of the head that caused it wasn't it? My view was he was hit by her reversing, was knocked backwards onto a hard surface that caused the injury to the back of his head. Eg the steps, the kerb or the fire hydrant for example.

Taillights do not fracture into nearly 50 pieces by backing into somebody's arm.

They definitely do not shatter by just hitting somebody's arm, an arm with at least two layers of cloth, pierce the skin enough to make those cuts and leave no tissue or blood on ANY of the nearly 50 pieces. let alone no fabric remnants from either of his shirts snagged into at least one of them.

I dare any of you to simply whack your taillight with your elbow and see what happens. Nothing. Nothing will happen, except maybe a sore elbow from trying. If you do manage to succeed, look at how bruised you are vs how many "cuts from taillight pieces" you have.

That's because simply whacking your arm on the taillight is not the same as a several ton vehicle or a fire hydrant hitting a persons arm or other solid object at 24 mph.

fire hydrant???

Your arm can travel more than 24 mph and the car still weighs the same. You would also have bruises, no matter which way you did it. Also a backing vehicle that could have enough momentum to shatter like that by hitting his arm would also make impact to other parts of his body and the tail light pieces would all fall near the point of impact, not scattered all over the yard and road. If you want to say they followed him, there would be fragments embedded in and on his clothing, yet there were none AND no tissue or blood on the pieces. It simply did not happen that way. Physics prove this. Very simple physics, at that. For those pieces to fly like that, there is no way for her to only be traveling at 24 mph. In a high speed impact, sure.
