Circumstances of Discovery​

Atlanta police picked up the unidentified man on the side of Interstate 75 late at night on July 20, 1995, and took him to Grady Hospital with severe head injuries. He was hospitalized for almost one year and died in the hospital on June 24, 1996.

Ariel, this might be a long shot. Have you looked at James Scott Rawlings, age 23, missing from Wisconsin circa 1986? Height is a little off, but eye color matches and he had a tattoo of a wolf head on his torso/ chest when he disappeared. Face shape appears to be the same as Doe. His car was found in a snowbank, but no keys and he was gone.

He didn't weigh a lot for a young man of his height imo. And while he was thought to be headed to Alaska, who knows what happened to him or where he ended up...?

I was born and raised in WI and was a young adult in that time frame but never heard of the case. Not unusual though when it was in the southern part of the state.

Mercer, WI however, is in the northern half of the state and I still never heard of the case.

So he was headed north initially but that doesn't mean he didn't hook up with someone after his car was found "abandoned" as they put it.

ah- i just took a look. ill take it into account but I don't think that's him. Jessie doe was much taller. way too tall to be james. when Jessie doe was measured he was kinda crinkled up and in the fetal position but even at that he was at least 6 feet. but probably around 6'1-6'4. he also had plenty of tattoos and we're not sure if James was a Virgo. jessie doe also looked younger than 32, and james would have been that by 95'. im gonna keep looking into it, but to me they dont have the same eyes or lips, and that's always the dead giveaway.

Bummer. I didn't have time to look at it all, just to find the links. I noted no tattoo mentioned but he could have gotten them after, etc. Good to compare all though and he is another young man whose family has no answers.

i have a sort of mentor who i can ask questions to! im gonna have to bring that up to her just in case. after seeing jessie does face thousands of times i think im going to immediately recognize him when i see a photo of him while he was alive. he would look just like the PM because it was taken directly after he died. its gonna happen, though. its just gonna take forever/:

The following is old- it was posted on reddit in 2015. Posting it here in case Ariel has not seen it yet. No new info, but goes into great detail. Ears were not pierced, his gallbladder was there, his appendix was there, he had been circumcised, kidney stone and gallstones were in the process of formation , no dentures or replacement teeth, his " natural teeth were in fair repair-may indicate some level of dental care in the past"
