10-month-old girl abducted from New Mexico park after mother, another woman found dead, police say

An Amber Alert was issued for a 10-month-old girl after the baby's mother and another woman were discovered dead and a 5-year-old was found injured in a New Mexico park.

The Clovis Police Department issued the Amber Alert for Eleia Maria Torres on Friday after officers were dispatched to Ned Houk Park near Clovis around 4:30 p.m. in response to a 911 call about a person finding two deceased women.

New Mexico State Police said they do not have a suspect at this time but believe the person was driving a maroon Honda.

Officers found the women lying on the ground near a silver Dodge minivan, Clovis police said in a Facebook statement. They had apparently been shot.

A 5-year-old girl was found suffering from a gunshot wound to her head, according to statements from Clovis police and state police. She was taken to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, about 100 miles southeast of Clovis.

At the scene was also an infant car seat, an infant stroller and a small baby bottle, police said.

"Officers were concerned there was an infant child with the female victims when this incident happened," Clovis police said.

Officers immediately began searching for Eleia but could not find her.

The women were identified by police as Samantha Cisneros, the mother of both children, and Taryn Allen. Both women are 23 and from Texico, New Mexico.

Authorities believe Eleia was abducted by the perpetrator "and is in immediate danger," Clovis police said.

"Many details about this incident are unknown and under investigation, but of urgent concern is the whereabouts of Eleia Maria Torres," state police said.

Samantha Cisneros and Taryn Allen killed after shooting in Clovis Ned Houk Park

On May 3, 2024, at approximately 4:26 PM, the Clovis Police Department Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a person who believed they found two dead females at Ned Houk Park. Ned Houk Park is a city park located 5 miles north of Clovis.

Officers arrived on scene and found two female victims, with apparent gunshot wounds, laying on the ground near a silver Dodge minivan.

A young female child was also found on the ground suffering from an injury to her head. Officers began giving life-saving measures to the child.

Clovis EMS arrived on scene and transported the child to Plains Regional Medical Center.

The child was later transferred to a Lubbock, TX area hospital. The female victims were identified as Samantha Cisneros, age 23, and Taryn Allen, age 23.

The 9th Judicial Major Crime Unit was activated and took over the investigation. Through interviews with family members, investigators learned Samantha Cisneros was the mother to the young female child found at the scene and was also the mother to a 10-month-old child, Eleia Maria Torres.

Investigators believe Eleia Maria Torres has been abducted by the perpetrator of this crime and is in immediate danger.

If anyone has pertinent information on these victims or were at Ned Houk Park on this date, we ask you to contact the Clovis Police Department at 575-769- 1921.

Awful. Serious question as to whether the five year old is or will be okay or not. I keep forgetting I'm not going to check out new cases and this is what I come to.

It certainly seems likely this was the father of the baby and probably headed to or is in Mexico, wouldn't surprise me. Baby's last name sounds Hispanic. Also haven't heard any father speaking out wanting his child found... No vehicle descripton or plate is there?

Maybe they want him thinking they don't know who they are looking for...? However, this should be a serious publicized alert both as to because the public may well be in danger as well as the baby. Or do they worry baby will be in more danger if so... I don't know.

IF he was a father who saw his child, he well could have had his own car seat in his vehicle. I'd somehow doubt he came with milk and bottles though but who knows. This could have been an exchange spot, however, it also could have been he was living with the mother or they split recently hard to say.

I'd think by now they'd have something on video or maybe be close to tying him as the perp... Hard to say. CLEARLY this man did not care about her other child. I guess we don't even know the per is male or the father but sure seems pretty darned likely.

Prayers for BOTH children and the families of them and the women and that both children survive and are undamaged and healthy. That poor child also saw her mother killed most likely and dead for sure and the friend. I wonder why the person who called in only had seen the dead women and not the child or so it sounds. Didn't go into the links.

I hope marshals or feds or whoever on on him, have the borders covered and so on. And he may just be holed up hard to say.

Was they anyone else in the park or any witnesses, I mean there were gun shots.

Just because I like an idea of where sometimes, I googled the park. Second on the page on top with a description of all it has. Clovis is a city of roughly 38K people as of 2022. The park is five miles from the city but is a City of Clovis park.

IF the baby's dad, was he there with them, followed them, was it an occasion, a meeting to exchange child... I find it pretty doubtful it is anyone else. All three shot at except his child. Didn't kidnap two kids or take the 5 year old and leave the baby, etc.

I'm sure SM has provided some info if anyone cares to share. An educated guess is that the were not married because the last names differ. Also this child is ten months old and not a newborn, young infant and so what's the relationship been like up til now or visitation if not together, etc. She's a fairly young mom would have been 18 with her first about and 22 with the second most likely. I was similar with my two, same dad, married. I wonder his age and history. Were there any domestic incidents or restraining orders... All that stuff. Was she trying for custody or more child support. Etc., etc.

Reminds me somewhat of the recent one with the two women where the mother took a friend with and both ended up murdered. At least the children weren't harmed in that one although they were for life in the sense of loss of all loved ones parents, grandparents, etc. probably from thereon out.

Anyhow enough by me. My first stop on the site after an 11 hour day. And again tomorrow and then more but not 11s. Feet so NO. Ugh.

Again prayers for the safety, wellbeing and survival and health of both children. And for all family who had nothing to do with it of all the victims here. Not him of course IF him.

I don't know how accurate they are, but comments on Facebook are saying that Eleia's father went immediately to police and isn't currently a suspect.

He has been posting on his Facebook the alerts and asking for help.

Okay more about that.

Thron said police interviewed the father of the missing infant and he is "not a suspect at this time."

"Dad came in and talked to us and he was just as shocked as everyone else," Thron said.

Below article seems to be a summary of the video above. They also mentioned that BOTH fathers have been working with the team.

Clovis Police and the FBI stressed no detail is too small. What may seem like a minor observation could lead to a break in this case. Tips can be called to 575-763-9472.

“It is with a heavy heart that I stand before you today to address the tragic incident that unfolded,” Clovis Deputy Chief Trevor Thron said, reiterating they are concerned about the safety and condition of little Eleia.

Albuquerque FBI Special Agent in Charge Raul Bujanda also said top priority is finding the baby and the person or people responsible for her disappearance, the murder of her mother and another woman, and the injury of Eleia’s five-year-old sister.

After receiving a 911 call Friday afternoon reporting two dead women, responding officers found Samantha Cisneros, 23, and Taryn Allen, 23, both of Texico, NM, lying on the ground near a silver minivan in Ned Houk Park, about five miles north of Clovis. They also found the five-year-old girl. During the news conference Sunday, officials referred to Cisneros with first name of Harley instead of Samantha.

Police earlier stated officers found an infant car seat, stroller and a small baby bottle at the scene. According to a news release, officers were concerned there was an infant present when the crime occurred. Police immediately began a search for the baby.

K-9 and pond dive teams have scoured the surrounding area and have not found any additional evidence.

Deputy Chief Thron provided a more specific timeline Sunday, after authorities spoke with witnesses and family, and reviewed surveillance video. The two women and two children were first at a drive-in, then a dollar store before going to the park Friday.

Thron said a witness heard gun shots in the park, but did not immediately report this to police. At 4:25 p.m., a witness saw the two women and five-year-old lying in the park, then called 911.

As of Sunday afternoon, Deputy Chief Thron said the five-year-old girl is receiving care in a Lubbock hospital. He said they hope for a swift and full recovery.

The initial Amber Alert mentioned a maroon Honda as possibly being involved. Investigators found a small part of a vehicle with this color and Honda stamp. They do not know if this, in fact, connected to the perpetrator.

I may need to apologize if not dad although I'm not convinced of anything yet. I can't picture what a stranger would want with just the baby and shooting the rest for what reason? When we hear of such it is usually women and it is newborns not ten month olds. I hate to say it but are they sure this child isn't in that park somewhere and how can they know for sure the child was taken even? From the five year old maybe...? She'd have seen he killer as well most likely. I hope they have her under serious guard and security. What about other family? We just saw grandparents kill two mothers... Doesn't make much sense and in most cases a stranger would take the five year old not the ten month old and I don't think I need to explain why. Sick but true.

It seems intentional one child of a different father was shot. I listened to the presser on break, the never really mentioned him nor anyone else. They could be keeping quiet but seem to have no leads to speak of. A sigh of relief as it SOUNDS like the 5 year old is going to be okay but again the killer may be worried if hearing that as well. Someone could have hired someone to do this. The other woman could also have been the real target and the rest to point in another direction but that seems highly unlikely... I can think of a few "one offs" meaning not a typical scenario but again they wouldn't be likely

Doesn't make much sense to me that a stranger would want this particular baby and be willing to kill two women and a child, very risky, for an unknown baby unless I guess if iI were LE I'd want to now where every family member of dad's was etc. Not hers as why would hers shoot their own daughter, and grandchild or niece.

Who knows. I sure don't. I'd be surprised if they don't know more by now and it just makes me wonder as if they are acting as if they have no clue so that someone makes, a move, talks on the phone to others, buys diapers, etc.

Well it is either some totally unusual not normal random thing or it relates to that baby. And that would typically and almost always be family.

Wait and see I guess. Any clue if he lives in area, his family does, or if he and her were together in life...?

Here's another off the wall one, did someone else THINK they may be the father of this child? As I said I can think of some one offs that are very unlikely but if dad didn't doi it, it is looking like well then why, and who...

I’m surprised that at that time of the day there were no witnesses at all! I can’t figure this out. I wonder if it’s got gang related? And why take the baby? These are all questions I’m sure everyone has right now.

The 10-month-old was found “through a collaborated law enforcement effort,” according to the Clovis Police Department. Police did not share where she was found or what condition she's in, but said Eleia has been taken to a local hospital "as a precautionary measure."

An unidentified suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the abduction. The Clovis Police Department previously said they believed Eleia was abducted by the perpetrator who killed the women and injured the 5-year-old child.

"We will release more details at a later time," the department said.

Clovis police identify suspect in double murder, kidnapping of 10-month-old

The Clovis Police Department identified the suspect in a news conference on the 10-month-old who was kidnapped after the murder of her mother Friday afternoon.

Deputy Chief Trevor Thron said the suspect, 26-year-old Alek Isaiah Collins of the Houston, Texas area, is in custody in Abilene.

Thron states police believe the suspect was staying at a residence in Abilene. Police were sent to that location where he was arrested and the 10-month-old was rescued.

Police say they do not believe the suspect is related to the victims. However, the investigation remains active and there is still a lot of work to do, including identifying the motive and processing evidence.

District Attorney Quentin Ray said the suspect is charged two counts of first degree murder, first degree kidnapping and two counts of child abuse.
