10-month-old girl abducted from New Mexico park after mother, another woman found dead, police say

An Amber Alert was issued for a 10-month-old girl after the baby's mother and another woman were discovered dead and a 5-year-old was found injured in a New Mexico park.

The Clovis Police Department issued the Amber Alert for Eleia Maria Torres on Friday after officers were dispatched to Ned Houk Park near Clovis around 4:30 p.m. in response to a 911 call about a person finding two deceased women.

New Mexico State Police said they do not have a suspect at this time but believe the person was driving a maroon Honda.

Officers found the women lying on the ground near a silver Dodge minivan, Clovis police said in a Facebook statement. They had apparently been shot.

A 5-year-old girl was found suffering from a gunshot wound to her head, according to statements from Clovis police and state police. She was taken to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, about 100 miles southeast of Clovis.

At the scene was also an infant car seat, an infant stroller and a small baby bottle, police said.

"Officers were concerned there was an infant child with the female victims when this incident happened," Clovis police said.

Officers immediately began searching for Eleia but could not find her.

The women were identified by police as Samantha Cisneros, the mother of both children, and Taryn Allen. Both women are 23 and from Texico, New Mexico.

Authorities believe Eleia was abducted by the perpetrator "and is in immediate danger," Clovis police said.

"Many details about this incident are unknown and under investigation, but of urgent concern is the whereabouts of Eleia Maria Torres," state police said.

Praise and thank God. In all the remarks today there was one about wondering if gang related. I wondered that along with a lot of other things but made no sense he'd take the baby however maybe he could shoot or hurt anyone but not a baby? But then seems unlikely if you can cold bloodely shoot a 5 year old.

I think the jury is still out here and it says as much as to motive and so forth... Still possibly doing it for someone else so no connection seen, maybe some revenge or gang thing, perhaps some sick drug fueld thing of their own, all have crossed my mind too...

Some seem more likely than others but I sure don't know.

So glad she is safe and the 5 year old it sounds like likely to recover.

Yeah there's more here than what we are getting. Imo. Motive--was it his own motive or put to it by some gang or relative of the child, etc. or he is just some crazed person or was that day...

He tried to kill three, accomplished two but took this baby and yet baby was found safe, he didn't kill her at least, we don't know much else... WHY...

Thank God these children survived/were found, etc. Of course both motherless now and two dead women and tragedy beyond and kids' lives affected for eve after BUT they are alive, and sAFE now. That's all we can ask for in such cases.

I am real curious to motive here or connections if any. I have a leaning but it is more to do with logical and likelihood and we don't know enough. Not sure if SM gives any other insight. Haven't had the time to take a look at even the links given here.

Just happy both girls are safe and survived, all that matters for the moment. AND an arrest has been made.

Arrest affidavit details links to homicide suspect

The man arrested Monday for killing two Texico women had called the FBI last October and threatened to "murder a bunch of children" if they didn't help find his missing daughter.

The FBI made contact with Alek Isaiah Collins and he was placed in a mental facility at that time. Collins told agents he "does not want to kill people" but felt the threat was the only way "in getting the FBI to assist him."

The information is included in an affidavit for arrest warrant filed in 9th Judicial Court on Tuesday against Alex Isaiah Collins.

District Attorney Quentin Ray said Tuesday it's not clear whether Collins ever had a missing daughter.

His mental health and criminal history were being reviewed by investigators on Tuesday.

Police obtained records for all cell phones in the area of Ned Houk Park at the approximate time of the slayings. Among the cell numbers they found was one belonging to Collins' whose cell was also found to be at the Dollar Tree in Clovis about the same time the victims had been at Dollar Tree.

While searching video of area businesses, police observed a maroon-colored Honda that appeared to have a broken side mirror at a McDonald's restaurant. Police had found a piece of a broken mirror belonging to a maroon Honda at the crime scene. Clovis Deputy Police Chief Trevor Thron said authorities believe one mirror was broken at Ned Houk, while another was broken prior to the killings.

Then police traced the license plate to a rental agency and soon learned that Collins had rented it on April 21. It was supposed to have been returned on April 23 but was not.

The vehicle had a GPS monitoring system on it and police began tracking its location.

The arrest affidavit showed the vehicle was at Ned Houk Park at 4:30 p.m., about the time police believe the slayings took place.

The vehicle left Ned Houk Park at 4:38 p.m. and began traveling through Texas, ultimately to Abilene, the GPS trackings showed.

The affidavit did not address Collins' connection to the house in Abilene where he was captured and the baby was located. It also did not offer any information about where Collins may have been in the days prior to being in Clovis.

Collins told police he took the baby but did not admit to the slayings.

Authorities found a 9-mm Glock at the scene. The affidavit shows five 9-mm shell casings were found near the victims at Ned Houk.

Wow, that is a lot. And sounds like an out of control guy with mental health issues.

Leaves out a few things though. HE has a missing daughter they aren't helping him look for?

And no connection to the home he was captured in and the baby was nor where he was in the days prior.

If he has a MISSING child, it doesn't excuse this, he murdered two women and tried to kill a five year old. But who is his missing child no one is helping him with?

Imo this just got odder with more answers, it seems like less.

or is it all in his head that he has a missing daughter? I mean seriously this gives answers but doesn't and creates more.

Police: Suspect in Clovis kidnapping carjacked an Uber before capture in Texas

According to an affidavit obtained by KOAT, the 26-year-old was driving a maroon Honda at the time of the crime.

It was being rented through an app called Turo. It also contained a GPS monitoring system.

That's what police used to actively search for Collins and 10-month-old Eleia Maria Torres. Their route took them through 12 cities in Texas before ending at the home in Abilene.

Once officers reached out to the Honda's owners, the car was remotely disabled at the home on Harwell Street. It happened early Saturday morning.

Then, per an incident report with the Abilene Police Department, Collins called an Uber at 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, since his rental car was disabled.

Officials say he threatened the Uber driver and soon crashed into a police cruiser.

There's no word on if the baby was with Collins inside the car. However, police found her and checked her out at a medical facility.

Collins is now charged with aggravated battery and assault on a peace officer. He is still in their custody. The 26-year-old is also facing two counts of murder, two counts of child abuse, and one count of kidnapping in New Mexico.

Do we have any answers here yet? Does he have a connection to any of them?

Are we to believe he wanted a kid and killed others and tried to kill another child to get one? I don't buy that.

Was he one to fall for this sh*t that thinks he could sell a baby? The MORE they put out about such sh*t that really does NOT happen to speak of, the more idiots think there is a real market for such.
I find it hard to believe there was no personal connection here.

Is it that we just don't know yet?

Yeah right.
