Do we have a Jefferey Epstein thread?

Questioning the victims account is normal though. And especially as some of this took place over twenty years ago.
Oh no doubt. It's what they have to do. False memories though are different than faded or imperfect memories.

Actually in reading a few of the recently linked articles, one thing that stood out to me was the similarity of victims of different ages in different years as far as Epstein's habit of the massage and then rolling over nude, etc... Things said about Ghislaine also struck me and it did not only come from the victims the way it sounded... It sounds like other witnesses can corroborate some things...

I had skull surgery at age 8. I still remember a lot of it. Traumatic experiences are hard to forget.
I have to agree with you, darn it anyhow. I also think the older the child, the less likely it is forgotten or repressed... These girls were all at least teens.

Even at our age, I remember traumatic events as a child very clearly decades later.

Without saying too much, I had a teacher who was more than nasty and imo twisted and I was one she centered on more than once. And she would get you alone and away... I won't go into details, it really shaped a lot of my childhood and not for the good. To this day in my late 50s I can recount every single thing she did. And I was in grade school. I do not like to think about it, I rarely talk about it (more or less never do) and yet I can recall every bit if necessary. I bury it but that doesn't make it fade. Not a bit.

I was knocked down by a car at age 5 and still remember it. I ran out into the road in front of the car. At the hospital, the stitches they put in my head hurt like heck. Yet I don't know if my memory and account is the same as my two sisters' memories, who were 7 and 15. I don't even really know if it is my memory or what has been recounted by them so many times.

I will be interested to hear from the witnesses as to whether they reported the abuse (and rape) by Epstein to anyone at the time or even later over the years. And if they didn't, then why didn't they?

ETA first witness is in the stand. Court is finishing promptly at 5 PM.

I saw an interview with a victim. She said they were told that Epstein owned the local PD and they were too afraid to go to them.

Here is an account from two and a half years ago. I guess we will hear similar testimony in the coming days. This account never once mentions Maxwell though, and all the others I have read seem similar, where friends recruit other friends.

Calling in a false memory expert I read.... Questioning the victims' memories... These weren't five year olds for goodness sakes and I don't doubt such memories are vivid and can't be forgotten. But I suppose there is someone who can say, some expert, that false memories can occur... Imo it's just a nicer way of calling a victim a liar...
I had the vice president of a bank I was working for when I was a young adult offer to take me home from a Christmas party one time and he pulled over and approached me and quickly moved his hand up my top. Another time I was dating a guy in high school and I went to see if he was home and his dad invited me in and did the exact same thing in the hallway. I remember both quite vividly. Thankfully, my saying no and did both situations.

Both situations happened decades ago. You don’t forget. It is very degrading for a woman and a man would not understand.

Well said. A man would not understand. I think most women have such experiences they can recount unfortunately and are fortunate if they ended without incident and the man listened.

You don't forget when controlled, coerced, assaulted or don't feel right or feel dirty about the situation imo. In fact it is just the opposite, trying to not relive those vivid memories all of the time throughout one's life when they come to mind. Just the fact you (all of us) can immediately remember years later what happened, in what circumstance and with who says it all.

I think we have all had to reject unwanted advances in the past. This sounds a lot different to what Epstein was doing. They were being paid to "massage" his "feet" and being paid to bring/introduce their friends also.

Oh I don't disagree, I'm talking to memory though. If one remembers something not even to the degree of what happened here, I just am saying I think memories of things like that remain in detail. And it's jmo. Not comparing the crimes or victims at all, simply talking memory.

Most cases of abuse are not reported. One reason is because the victim would be basically blamed and shamed if it ever went to court by any defense team.

These two were rich, well known and hobnobbed with a list of "Who's Who"... That alone would make one feel trapped with nowhere to turn. And yep, the defense would tear them apart even more so when younger and unable to handle it... Why did you stay? Why didn't you call someone? Etc...

Has anyone seen the program "Surviving Jeffrey Epstein" mentioned in this article?
