Do we have a Jefferey Epstein thread?

“This is the last act of Epstein’s manipulation of the system, even in death,” said attorney Jennifer Freeman, who represents child sex abuse victims.

Epstein, 66, killed himself on 10 August in New York while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. The discovery of the will with its newly created 1953 Trust, named after the year of his birth, instantly raised suspicions he did it to hide money from the many women who say he sexually abused them when they were teenagers.

By putting his fortune in a trust, he shrouded from public view the identities of the beneficiaries, whether they be individuals, organizations or other entities. For the women trying to collect from his estate, the first order of business will be persuading a judge to pierce that veil and release the details.

fwiw ...

When Jeffrey Epstein died in jail in August of 2019, a death which has been ruled a suicide, he was worth $577,672,654, according to a will signed just two days before his death. The document, which was filed in St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, and was first published by the New York Post, reveals that Epstein put the sum of his wealth into a trust titled the The 1953 Trust, likely named after the year he was born.

But now that he's dead, what happens to the money?
There is a Victims compensation fund set up by his estate. I did not know about the will but I did know about the 1953 Trust - I just assumed he had set that up years ago. Here's some detail about the Victims fund. They have paid out approx $125 million it claims and the fund is closed now.

ETA he has a brother, so I guess he would get the residue or whoever are the trust beneficiaries.

Another documentary ????? Oh no - Filthy Rich again. Definitely don't need/ want to watch it now.

It sounds like her biggest complaint is that they make her look bad physically.
It's interesting that the Daily Mail was owned by her father wasn't it? At one point anyhow. Also interesting is the mention it was a make of James Patterson's Filthy Rich. Most people know Patterson's books, I used to read them. Did you know that he employs ghost writers which other best selling authors who write their own books find revolting? So he gets credit for best selling books he didn't even write.... A bit O/T but interesting... And Patterson outed her whereabouts and she is a victim... An author, not a rag newspaper did that...

It's amazing how big names and big money collide, intersect and the people in common... And not all get their money by the most honest of means, nor their fame...

One of the presidents was going to have Patterson write his biography but my memory fails me... More big names... Just like Epstein and princes and presidents (on both sides of the supposed aisle) connect...

Anyhow, I don't know what I make of her remarks but I can see wanting to come across as not some loser as she put it "wildebeest" who didn't have her act together suffering cancer, treatment and her dog's death... The fact they pushed to do it at such a time I find disgusting and probably intentional... Headlines, hype, etc...

From what I understand, Epstein has no heirs and the fund was set up on the decision of the executors. So I guess he made no will either? Which seems weird if he committed suicide - why wouldn't he have made a will leaving it to someone or some charities. Something else to look into I guess.
Strange, as was his death. Neither he nor Maxwell had any children in their lifetime did they? Even separately?

In March, Maxwell sued Epstein’s estate to cover her legal costs, claiming he had always pledged to provide her with financial assistance.
She sure wants to be connected to him and make claims when it is to her benefit doesn't she? And yet on the other hand she is said to have distanced herself and wanted away...? She was with him so long I actually doubt the latter part.

Her "opaque finances".... Funny if they haven't looked into the trail of money of these two... Epstein and Maxwell...

The trail probably leads to very famous people. We already know this really. Her new husband is a hedge fund manager BTW.

This runs deep. Annie Farmer is one of the four who will be testifying.

New flight info.

This information would seem to help the prosecution if I'm reading that correctly. However, it would probably be inadmissible due to it's release being an accident.

Menninger pivots to "Jane's" first meeting with Epstein and Maxwell in 1994, at the Interlochen arts academy. The defense attorney says that she has given different accounts of the meeting. An ongoing defense strategy is undermining the women's memories of decades-old events.

Menninger tries to undermine "Jane's" account of her difficult family life through school records at Interlochen, like an application describing her "loving family." Yesterday, "Jane" testified that her mother instructed her not to discuss her feelings and family.

Menninger is confronting her with notes from unrecorded interviews with the government. "Jane" has said repeatedly during cross-ex that the notes were inaccurate. "This is just someone jotting down notes," she said.

Cross-examination resumes: Menninger pivots to the first time "Jane" says Epstein abused her. She testified that's when Epstein masturbated on her in the Palm Beach pool house. The lawyer says she told the government in 2019 that it was in New York. "That is not correct": Jane

Remember: "Jane's" testimony implicating Maxwell, not only in grooming her for Epstein's abuse, but participating in it. In these exchanges—which I'll await the transcript for in further detail because exact phrasing matters—the defense attorney attacks the crux of that.

New flight info.

You won't hear it in MSM but if my memory serves there is another president who went with Epstein on an "unknown" type of flight... This info is out there but no way can I remember where I saw it, it was some years ago. It may have even been in some filing back on the other case or something with Espstein... I haven't brought it up as I don't see it mentioned in this case, it always mentions Trump, Clinton, Prince Andrew... And I can't link it but I know what I read.

Yes, it never ceases to bother me that in big name cases, some justice is pursued while other things get swept under the rug as it would implicate people that were maybe part of the dirty money dealing or profits but for instance would never morally be part of the sex with minors thing...

Her husband. And then her father embezzled. Epstein well just look at his game with the trust and more... Doesn't make her guilty but clearly she was not around and isn't now the most moral of men to have taught her any... At least in the financial dealings sector...

There are deep hints and notes all over this case.... This academy, the camp Epstein was a donor to and where he met a young victim... It smacks of a far bigger thing and more people...

I don't know. It sounds like the investigation was why these records were being produced. Whether they shouldn't have went out on a FOIA request or publicly or not, it was only due to an ongoing investigation and why wouldn't they be able to use them in court? Why would Epstein's unknown flights be private or protected once an investigation is complete? I don't think they would be. He was rich but entitled to no special privacy privilege...

I wish we could watch this trial because this phrase

The lawyer says she told the government in 2019 that it was in New York.

I want to know if this is in a recording or transcripts--in other words, if it was actually said ever by the victim. Or IF the defense attorney just said it and made it up because this is a common defense game/tactic I hate--it was never said perhaps but they just make something up so now it is planted in the jury's head she said this when maybe she never did...

Anyhow, I'd need to know that to decide if it means anything at all or if it is intentional planting of a defense made up thing to mislead the jury.
