The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved in the ongoing search for a missing/endangered 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy who went missing Monday afternoon, and the task force investigating his disappearance is organizing a team of volunteers to start searching for him.

Gannon Stauch was believed to be a runaway after he left his home southeast of Colorado Springs between 3:15 and 4 p.m. on Monday. But as the week progressed, his disappearance was upgraded to a missing/endangered person case.

His stepmother said he left his home on foot to play at a friend’s house down the street on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies and major crimes detectives had taken “extraordinary steps” to locate the boy, the sheriff’s office said. They were actively searching for evidence and taking witness statements, a sheriff’s office news release issued earlier this week read.

“He’s very young, it’s dark and cold outside and we want to bring Gannon to safety,” the sheriff’s said in a Facebook post earlier this week.

On Thursday afternoon, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and other task force members, as well as Stauch’s parents, hosted a news conference to update the community on his disappearance, discuss the steps being taken in the investigation, and to notify people in the area that they are organizing volunteers to begin a community search effort in coming days.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mitch Mahalko said the sheriff’s office received the investigation on Tuesday afternoon and started doing interviews and collecting video surveillance and talking to neighbors, working to collect new leads.

He said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and FBI got involved after the case was upgraded to a missing/endangered child case. The FBI’s team specializes in search and rescue and “will be a good partner” in the investigation, Mahalko said.

He said the investigation was active and that authorities were conducting interviews with witnesses and collecting evidence – exhausting every lead they receive.

Mahalko said investigators were looking at “persons of interest” in the case as people who might be able to give them additional information on Stauch’s whereabouts.

He declined to say where authorities had been searching but confirmed that investigators had been in contact with some trash companies in El Paso County and in the Lorson Ranch area.

Kirby stressed that people with tips should report them to their tip line – 719-520-6666 – and not on social media because any tips sent to the sheriff’s office on social media will not be considered.

I don’t use SM and don’t care for rumors. There is one killer. I don’t know of any parents who don’t wish they could have a do over in raising their kids. AS had a job that kept him away from home. When he and Tee gained custody, it was primarily to help Landen because she had a pregnancy that kept her bedridden from March 2018 through the birth of her baby in August 2018. She trusted Tee to care for her children. I think Tee manipulated the whole situation to look good to everyone else and make herself the hero.

So why is this important to you? How could the parents have possibly known Tee was a monster? What is it that you think was going on that they didn’t WANT to see?
I don’t think we should be judging Gannon's parents. Their lives will never be the same.

I miss debating with you on cases. I am kind of in the middle on this one. I don't attack the parents and no one does but there was a text and I believe a time Laina told her mom but Al sided with Leticia and against Laina. I think Al has total regret though and it shows in his own face of never having seen through her. I don't mean he would have seen it or even could have necessarily but he will feel that way for a long time to come imo.

It was obvious that she was threatening Gannon so he wouldn't say anything to his dad. Master manipulators can be doing all kinds of things right under your nose. Believe me, I've been duped more than once. 😕
I think both kids were told and knew very well that they shouldn't say anything and that Letecia let them know if they did, the next time they would get it worse, that's how it usually goes. I also believe in most cases, not all, that in this one too that she likely filled their ear with and convinced them that he would believe her and not them. And then exactly that happened at least once. Finally, it isn't right but kids feel shame which they never should like they asked for it or something is wrong with them and/or they will cause their parents trouble and I don't doubt she used that one too... Jmo.

In light of what happened, it was obvious that they shouldn't cross her. I can't imagine what kind of fear she instilled into Gannon.

Poor little Gannon. I don’t think this was a rage killing. I do believe she wanted revenge against Al for some reason. She is just so much like Jodi Arias. It’s scary. Driving across country with a dead body. Overkill with a knife and gun and blunt object beating. Why? It was certainly premeditated and because it was a child, she is just the worst of the worst.

As for AL and Landen, I have heard some stuff on YouTube. I’m not on social media sites so y’all can enlighten me, if you will. But I don’t know one parent who would not like a do-over if they had the opportunity. Maybe Al was neglectful of the hints his son may have given. I don’t know.

I do remember at the first interview, Landen did the talking and Al was quiet and hung his head, which seemed strange. And little Laina seemed very nervous. I just have to wonder what was said between them. I imagine there will be a lot of recriminations.

Tbag seemed to rule her marriage that’s for sure. Guess she was the dominating personality.

I’m glad she is sitting in jail. Be glad when it dawns on her that this is her future till the day she dies.

Hi Oot! As far as Jodi Arias, I know you are busy but court TV, State of WI versus Ezra McCandless, Arias all of the way. Dunn County, Wisconsin, recent case and trial and I never even heard about it being from near the AREA, also touches into Eau Claire, WI but the crime occurred in Dunn County. Free online Court TV is, don't need TV. The entire trial is televised. I watched it without knowing the outcome.

Teebag is a bag. But yes, I agree Landen has always been the emotional one vowing for justice and God's justice. Al hangs his head. I don't know what but I do know he looks like someone who will guilt himself the rest of his life. I have heard rumors on various sites and I don't do many sites but regardless, TEEBAG killed Gannon, not Al or Landen.

I think there are things with her we will find out or maybe never find out that we will wish we never heard as far as how she treated Gannon. AND Laina. I don't know why it is but people tend, not all, to forgive a man. If this was reversed, they would be blaming the mother so badly (some people) for leaving a child with a stepdad or bf. I saw it many times at JT.

I will have to look up that case. Is Ezra a man or woman?

I’m beginning to think Al knew something was wrong and that Gannon tried to tell him and Al was stressed about the marriage and wanted out, not believing she would really hurt Gannon. Having been married to a military man, I can verify he couldn’t just call his boss and say I need off for personal time. It’s totally different from civilian life.
Yes we will have to see what comes out. I think Tbag will enjoy destroying Al in court.
I agree men and women are mostly treated differently,

She is female but I guess that is part of it, she was treated like a boy and pretended to be one at times.

I would be talking about rumors re Al and TBag but there are rumors out there that seem to be grounded in some fact re swingers..

Ezra in court was all female, makeup, curls, sweaters, blazers etc. The shining moment to me and my turning point in my opinon was when she saw the ONE walk in to testify. It is a good watch. I still can't believe in little NW Wisconsin I never knew of it. Even watching the "experts" and the med testimony one would think would be dry was interesting.

Email me tomorrow. I think that will throw Al under the bus in the courtroom.

I agree and somehow expect her to present herself in court as the victim, maybe we'll get the whole Jodi program: she was abused as a child, in her relationships , marriages, and all that scapegoating. But there is no wiggling out of this, lady!

I do too. Everything is always about her. It was when Gannon was "missing" with everything she said, me, me me with her. I suppose she will go right to the end all of the way to trial even though I don't see anything but a conviction in her future. I wonder how she is doing in jail, she is so self involved that I don't picture her getting along with others very well. Jmo.
