The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved in the ongoing search for a missing/endangered 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy who went missing Monday afternoon, and the task force investigating his disappearance is organizing a team of volunteers to start searching for him.

Gannon Stauch was believed to be a runaway after he left his home southeast of Colorado Springs between 3:15 and 4 p.m. on Monday. But as the week progressed, his disappearance was upgraded to a missing/endangered person case.

His stepmother said he left his home on foot to play at a friend’s house down the street on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies and major crimes detectives had taken “extraordinary steps” to locate the boy, the sheriff’s office said. They were actively searching for evidence and taking witness statements, a sheriff’s office news release issued earlier this week read.

“He’s very young, it’s dark and cold outside and we want to bring Gannon to safety,” the sheriff’s said in a Facebook post earlier this week.

On Thursday afternoon, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and other task force members, as well as Stauch’s parents, hosted a news conference to update the community on his disappearance, discuss the steps being taken in the investigation, and to notify people in the area that they are organizing volunteers to begin a community search effort in coming days.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mitch Mahalko said the sheriff’s office received the investigation on Tuesday afternoon and started doing interviews and collecting video surveillance and talking to neighbors, working to collect new leads.

He said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and FBI got involved after the case was upgraded to a missing/endangered child case. The FBI’s team specializes in search and rescue and “will be a good partner” in the investigation, Mahalko said.

He said the investigation was active and that authorities were conducting interviews with witnesses and collecting evidence – exhausting every lead they receive.

Mahalko said investigators were looking at “persons of interest” in the case as people who might be able to give them additional information on Stauch’s whereabouts.

He declined to say where authorities had been searching but confirmed that investigators had been in contact with some trash companies in El Paso County and in the Lorson Ranch area.

Kirby stressed that people with tips should report them to their tip line – 719-520-6666 – and not on social media because any tips sent to the sheriff’s office on social media will not be considered.

OMG not sure what to say. Wasn't it the aunt that got a rental vehicle for her, etc., etc. Aunt is calling bad evil stepmom "baby" and not happy with Harley, etc. They also talk about T's mom and her brother, etc.

She thinks it is crazy they take 20 percent to pay their housing and living, etc. out of anything they get for money. And then she does her odd laugh. I do not understand this aunt! And if she calls her baby one more time I may puke.

I don't even know when it started but I saw it and went in and it's live and they're playing the interviews and it is Landen on and wow.

Just ONE example, she was told by T that she and Harley had to cut the carpet out because Gannon pooped on it and they didn't want Al to find out. You can see investigators wondering about this as I'm sure they've been told it was due to the candle thing. MUCH is interesting and Al was no prince. I don't get much time but for those that do, you should watch these. When this trial was on, most media etc. was on Daybell. And I'm not even sure if all this was played, the interviews of Al and Landen, etc.

Then they put Al and Landen together in these interviews. I doubt even if anyone watched this trial that most have seen this. I can only hope I get time to come back and watch the full interviews.

It does sound like Al was never home AND Gannon and Layna were being left alone at times for at least a couple of hours and fending for themselves, etc. And Al knew this. Just ONE minor example of many things in these interviews, some bigger.

Al SAYS he does not know if T works or not, this was current at the time of G's disappearance or just after. What?? This man was CHECKED OUT and cheating if you ask me. Doesn't change the murderer T is but he certainly is no parent of the year and left his kids with her.

Thank you for posting this, I will have a look!
That with Al is worse than I thought. That made it easier for her to abuse the kids . But I am pretty sure he beats himself up about what could have been every day.

Yeah, they are worth watching. I have not had the time to watch a complete one yet, but have watched a substantial amount of each I have run into when I have. I leave them on when I do encounter them until I have to go, etc. They are long but that's because they are complete interviews.

Al probably does beat himself up but he has never struck me as Landen does. I personally find him a weak man. To me it is clear Landen let go what she had to to present the united front that they did and he should count his lucky starts because it is clear here that both he and T were not allowing her access, etc. I think it more likely Landen beats herself up than Al but feel he is he one that should be before she should be. She I think pretty quickly believed it to be T and before he did imo. It is interesting they are apart at first in interviews and then together. I do feel he was somewhat concerned about protecting himself and also feel they were trying to determine at the start if he had any involvement or knowledge.

There are some interesting things and the Docket guy comes in here and there to make sure the watcher doesn't miss them.

No use in beating Al up but I'm sorry I've never been an Al fan. It is apparent how bad this all was and he just removed himself and let the kids deal with her imo for years when he should have gotten out of it and took them if as bad as he says. He also went right on to the next one and that's the last thing imo he needed to do to Layna. We saw him when was it, after trial or during, with his new wife, etc. and he sounds like he is Mr. Dad NOW with a BUNCH of kids but...

Anyhow, yeah, I rate them worth watching. They aren't shows by someone so much, they are the sharing of all interviews and actual goings on at the time, etc. He's also had a lot of documents obtained, etc. but I haven't had the time to watch it all. He got everything he could from the case files and they are still obtaining I believe.

Yes Landen is an extraordinary woman, no doubt. How she even could be in the same room with Al during and after all this is beyond me. Reminds me alot of Kyron Horman and his mother ,who is showing the same strength. I hope Landen and Laina can find happiness.

I agree. I think she has a strength that one can just sense. I don't think she's perfect and I don't think she'd say she is either but it is clear how strong she is, how much she loved Gannon (all her children) and imo she's been his champion. Al is FORTUNATE she "sheltered" him under her wing/strong lead imo. I kind of doubt it was easy for her to do so at times. Going from Landen to Tecia was a HUGE mistake in his life and many paid the consequences of that. SHE is at fault, don't get me wrong (T) but he checked out imo and making someone dangerous like T mad or giving her the responsibility for his children and then his cheating imho would have added fuel to the fire of someone like T.
