The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved in the ongoing search for a missing/endangered 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy who went missing Monday afternoon, and the task force investigating his disappearance is organizing a team of volunteers to start searching for him.

Gannon Stauch was believed to be a runaway after he left his home southeast of Colorado Springs between 3:15 and 4 p.m. on Monday. But as the week progressed, his disappearance was upgraded to a missing/endangered person case.

His stepmother said he left his home on foot to play at a friend’s house down the street on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies and major crimes detectives had taken “extraordinary steps” to locate the boy, the sheriff’s office said. They were actively searching for evidence and taking witness statements, a sheriff’s office news release issued earlier this week read.

“He’s very young, it’s dark and cold outside and we want to bring Gannon to safety,” the sheriff’s said in a Facebook post earlier this week.

On Thursday afternoon, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and other task force members, as well as Stauch’s parents, hosted a news conference to update the community on his disappearance, discuss the steps being taken in the investigation, and to notify people in the area that they are organizing volunteers to begin a community search effort in coming days.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mitch Mahalko said the sheriff’s office received the investigation on Tuesday afternoon and started doing interviews and collecting video surveillance and talking to neighbors, working to collect new leads.

He said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and FBI got involved after the case was upgraded to a missing/endangered child case. The FBI’s team specializes in search and rescue and “will be a good partner” in the investigation, Mahalko said.

He said the investigation was active and that authorities were conducting interviews with witnesses and collecting evidence – exhausting every lead they receive.

Mahalko said investigators were looking at “persons of interest” in the case as people who might be able to give them additional information on Stauch’s whereabouts.

He declined to say where authorities had been searching but confirmed that investigators had been in contact with some trash companies in El Paso County and in the Lorson Ranch area.

Kirby stressed that people with tips should report them to their tip line – 719-520-6666 – and not on social media because any tips sent to the sheriff’s office on social media will not be considered.

It’s true. She admitted to it.
I believe the photos were included in the case file that was accessed through FOIA. Some have said it cost $400.

The $3 charge was to join her Patreon. She only streamed it to paying Patreon subscribers.
There was a second person who did it too - True Crime with Natasha Cooper.

I was under the impression with the first mention of it here that she shared these in a regular video to all, not a paid membership video. I'm not sticking up for her but it is a lot different than what my initial impression was. It's not like just anyone could come across these although I guess they could snag them and share them, not sure how that works as I don't pay for membership at any channel. But then they'd be the nasty person that shared them. Just like at trial, some attending probably stayed and saw them and some had no desire to.

I don't think it was a great choice though and it isn't her first time of upsetting people.

I never have any desire to see such. What is it going to add? This crime was solved and the evidence there and the description would be bad enough. It isn't like they are trying to solve his murder by looking at them. I'll be the first to admit I don't understand anyone wanting to see them. I have enough images of loved one dying in our presence and more that can never be erased. It's awful. I tear up mentioning it as it brings the images and the others to mind to this day.

Been a hard day here all around. Last thing I need to start thinking about.

This is so satisfying the part of a case and its conclusion where the criminal is forgotten and UNIMPORTANT. Coming here I realize it's been weeks with no news. SHE is gone and in the pokey.

Coming here to share though that Grizzly snagged an interview with Michael Allen, the DA in this case and as he said in the first few minutes, he won't say HER name. The PERP's name I mean. That's how I feel in most cases.

She also was on Court TV I think last night and she has reached 200K subscribers. Deserved imo.

For anyone who doesn't know, she has written books on more than few serial killers.

I trust she won't get so big she isn't "real". She does an awesome job at this and she is on coverage and dedicated to getting videos out there on cases.

It's a good interview and good to hear him. Personable and seems to really care about what he does and about Gannon and his family. Worth watching. He also doesn't softsoap about the stepmonster.

He compliments her for doing a channel the right way and handling things the right way. He mentions some who wanted to make money off of Gannon's pictures (which we all heard) and doing things the wrong way. His wife watches her and others in Colorado Springs also do who discovered her during Gannon's trial, etc.

A good watch.

I guess the witch has been transferred to a Kansas prison. Jules doesn't explain why here, just that she has been. Usual reason would be she was having trouble in CO and was too high profile BUT isn't Kansas where she tried to escape and attacked officers in the vehicle when they were bringing her back to CO? There were charges filed there but I thought they were dismissed but it could be another possibility, she was moved to be housed there pending trial on those charges...

So this is The Docket. I don't know of them a lot but know he is the one who gets a lot of court documents or all even that can be obtained both during cases and after. Grizzly relies on and appreciates him a lot. They've got a ton of the Stauch stuff and I've encountered it before but get so little time I've only been able to watch a few hit and miss. This is Part 2 of Al's LE interviews. I have not seen Part 1 so I'm out of order of course, that's my life. They also cover Laina's interview towards the end. They are typically long whjich is part of the reason i have not been able to watch all. It's interesting though, the bulk of it is the interview with LE. I gather number 1 was even more interesting and heartwrenching. He had other things before this, there's a whole list of shows on the documents and interviews. He has everything that can be obtained post trial in this case.

So wanted to mention it quick for people who have time unlike me or even want to play them while doing something else and just listen. Here is number two of Al.

Okay, I am like one minute or so into the summary of the child\'s interview. Laina. She has Gannon on fire with the candle incident.

Not only that but she tealks of the hike and at the end of the hike he went to the bathroom in his pants. I think this is the hike that stood out to me, as to how they were treated. Nothing really overt but the end of the HIKE stood out to me. I think another one here who may recalland watched it is @Whatsnext .

So just a minute or two in and it is grabbing me and hurts the heart.

Layna's (unsure of spelling) interview in this (the summary) comes at about 1:50 into the above video. An hour and 50.

Those poor children, in the hands of that psycho @#*😕

Gannon wanted to live with his mom. He did not want to live with T. I think we likely don't know the1/2 of what he and Layna went through on a regular basis but especially him. I could go on but as you say (^(^(&(&(!!@#%@#$!!. I think all failed him, not necessarily intentionally, but I think what was missed is no one knew how bad it was when she had him to herself imo. There's a lot of info in just the one Al interview I watched. He did waffle over giving all off his phone and I personally thinki it was because there was likely evidence of cheating and who knows maybe something else he wasn't nuts on being known.

I'll never get time to watch all or listen to all of it but what i did was interesting. It is slow going, like the Daybell videos too, in that cops leave the room and the person sits and so dead space goes on, etc. They have not lodaed up and shared 1/2 of the stuff yet.
