Girl last seen in Manchester in October 2019; police seek tips from public

Manchester police are seeking tips from the public about the disappearance of a girl not seen in more than two years.

Harmony Montgomery, 7, was last seen in a home in Manchester in October 2019, when she was 5, police said.

Police said they first learned Harmony went missing earlier this week. Chief Allen Aldenberg did not specify who reported the girl missing but said his department has been in touch with multiple family members and will continue to speak with them.

Aldenberg said police are not searching for any adult or vehicle in connection with the case. Investigators are focusing on the whereabouts of Harmony.

"No time is a good time for a child to go missing," Aldenberg said. "I'm begging the community. I don't care if you saw this young girl a year ago and you think it's irrelevant. Call us."

Aldenberg said at a news conference Friday his detectives are working to confirm where Harmony is from and where she went to school before her disappearance.

Harmony is estimated to be approximately 4 feet tall and 50 pounds. Investigators said she has blonde hair, blue eyes and should be wearing glasses.

"We need help," Aldenberg said. "This remains a very active investigation."

No. The system is OBVIOUSLY BROKEN!!! It worked this time.

The system is terribly broken. Funny coming from some that say trust it that have the biggest doubts in juries, etc. i have a ton of faith in juries in just about every case. The system, well, that depends and that is another story.

And I agree it is most definitely broken. So is for instance our medical system. Is there good care and practitioners? Of course. Is the system great? NO. Would the good ones even say it was a good system? NO. They hate the crap and red tape and issues. Justice system? Not much different. Imo.

The jury came through here as most do. Prosecution was wonderful. I do NOT like that the judge did not order him to court BUT I can guess some reasons for that... Judge seemed fine through rial so I won't throw her under the bus just yet BUT I do not like that he ruled on whether he had to be there or not...

It doesn't bring Harmony back but it was sweet to get the full all charges guilty verdict. Long deserved and a long time coming.

Harmony is now to be known as Harmony Renee. No more Montgomery. I love this.

It has bothered me every time I have typed her name with the last name and I wanted to say something but it was HER name and how she was known in the case. I have little doubt her mother and others felt the same times a million.

It was a big thing in ours. Our baby (my daughter's) but my family's, is NOT buried under his last name and remains mattered greatly as well and WHO had them.

She BEARS OUR name. He LOST that right and was also never a real FATHER as prosecution said about Adam, he was simply a sperm donor.

Crystal Sorey is also suing.

And LE is bent next on finding Harmony Renee. LOVE THIS commitment continuing! And another name to refer to her by dropping that terrible name of a father and husband who never was one.

I don't have an article or time and was only going to post this and have it trusted it is fact but I guess it's just my word for it so here's a YT video with the facts in it. I'm sure it can be verified if anyone wants to find a print article.

I'm starting to watch this and I'm not the biggest fan of news or channels or talking heads, etc. and have gone back and forth on the likes of him, the likes of Nancy Grace, the lkes of several others but that does not change the fact that Nancy had Audrii's mom on and that is who mom went to nor the fact that Vinnie has Harmony's mom Crystal on here. And that alone deserves some respect. Neither mother was likely perfect who knows but neither mother was involved in their child's death. BOTH children were placed where they NEVER should have been from all I can see.

Is Harmony now not of interest here any longer? And the interview Nancy had with Audrii's mom either?

Just watching. She talks of how it was said in trial by a wtiness that he hated Harmony's mother and she reminded him of her. She also says flat out that Harmony did not ask to be born to two addicts (meaning herself too so honsesty there) and she honors her daughter with her truth imo.

Tear jerking. But then this woman is honest and I have little doubt. She nails what Adam is. Even though I saw most all of the trial catching up morning and night, I missed her testimony. This is WELL worth a watch. And says so much about Harmony.

Kayla Montgomery may walk free after parole board hearing

The woman who confessed to witnessing Harmony Montgomery’s murder and hiding the child’s body for months may soon walk out of prison a free woman.

Kayla was never charged in Harmony’s murder because she agreed to help the prosecution in Adam’s case. She pleaded guilty to two counts of perjury for lying to the grand jury about Harmony’s whereabouts, and part of the agreement she entered into required her to testify against Adam at trial.

The plea agreement, obtained by Court TV, was filed on Nov. 16, 2022, and states that Kayla would receive a sentence of 3 1/2 – 7 years on each of the two charges. However, the agreement said that prosecutors would recommend that 18 months of the minimum term be suspended on one charge, and the entire sentence of the second charge be suspended.

That means Kayla gets her first chance at freedom this month. On March 7, Kayla is scheduled to appear before the New Hampshire Adult Parole Board, which will determine whether she can be released.

This does not set a good example . We need people to start being responsible for their actions! Otherwise, we’re never going to be safe in this country. She needs to spend some time behind bars.

She did what she was to do and it is up to the board. I don't like it and don't think most do but she was totally necessary to get Adam convicted.

She has a lot of pieces to pick up and I'm not so sure she will. She will either try hard and do better or end up back in a life of drugs, with another loser or end up back in jail. She has lost her own children. She did a very good job and as she was supposed to but nothing about her led me to feel that she is one who will get her life back together, is a go getter or will startle all with just how great she does making a new life for herself.

IF she gets out and/or WHEN she gets out, I guess that's up to her...

She is well aware of what most people think of her, what she knew, the time or two she admits to helping, the lack of helping Harmony. He murdered her though, not her, and I don't have much doubt of that and he needed to be put away and he is.

Harmony Montgomery's stepmother Kayla granted parole in New Hampshire

Kayla Montgomery, the stepmother of murdered 5-year-old Harmony Montgomery, was granted parole in New Hampshire Thursday.

Kayla Montgomery had been in prison on perjury charges since November 2022, when she was sentenced to 1.5 years. She ended up serving 16 of 18 months.

The conditions of her parole include being under supervision for 90 days after release and checking in with a parole officer.

I don't like it but she did her job and was needed to put him away. She is very fortunate and now it is up to her whether she can make a thing of herself or fix her life or be a mother to her taken kids too late or not.

I didn't know supervision or parole would be that light or short and I think it is.

She will either straighten out enough to never see again the inside of a jail cell even if not a stellar person or she will end up back there imo. I don't like the lightness and I think she made some really horrid choices in life but I think she also was a young victim of Adam's control and abused. Due to choosing a man and drugs over all else would be my guess as to how she went down such a nasty path. I rarely say this kind of thingbut she also doesn't need to be popping out any more babies even if she finds stability, turns her life around and becomes some kind of mature adult. Which I doublt she will become. At best she will manage and hopefully stay out of trouble.

Not everyone in this nation will know who she is but enough do and she is a pariah in many ways. This woman hauled Harmony's desecrated body to a pizza joint in the stroller with her two brothers/Kayla's baby boys. And was well aware she was doing so and this is admitted. So is it admitted she helped cut Harmonys clothing off long after her death when Adam was bent on reducing the body.

It is unforgettable, it is sick and it is triggering and beyond what she did. He HOWEVER is the monster beyond al of that.

She won't have it easy and that alone is fitting. I don't think she has the ability or even desire to turn into some outstanding human, at best she will just do okay and stay out of trouble. There is no energy there, no motivation, etc. if anyone watched her at trial. And I also have no confidence she won't go back to drugs.

I guess that is up to her. Maybe she can prove us wrong.

Who has custody of her kids?

Pretty sure it is her mom. I cannot verify it but seems like and seemed to come from solid sources.

I've made the decision to not follow any new cases unless they are something I've already seen on YT or some such and was taken into. Also only going to comment any longer on ones that I have followed and probably won't when it is just some annual vigil or something and no one else bothering or discussing. I don't have the time and I used to try to because even cold cases and families NEED some attention.

Going to start dialing out and have taken leave before and may well agai due to life.

As to Kayla being released, most know I am usually so hard on family who let this happen to a kid or participated or helped hide it but there are a few I take a different balance on. I don't like her, and she is going to be living as a pariah for anyone who knows this entire case and he was NEEDED and they had no like Perry Mason evidence since she wasn't even being known to be missiing how long later. I believe she made very bad choices I nlife, I believe she WAS abused by him and stayed, etc., got into drugs at what age and more.

There are other cases I have BIG problems with the deals. Krystal Kenny, Karla Homolka. I don't like this one but it was the go along or uncaring one and not the PERPETRATOR nor do I believe she helped kill her at all. I honestly don't think she will turn into some person who in a few years can show she turned her life around, wants to help others, got her kids back and so on. I do not think she is a threat to anyone whatsoever if one watched her. I do think she will try for a bit but may well end up with another loser, hard to say. Maybe she will surprise us but I also wouldn't be surprised to find her back with charges in time on some drug thing or theft thing or so on. SHE needs to make her choices and try hard or not.

And it isn't typical for me whatsoever but I have no problem with her parole. I DO THINK the supervision period is WAY TOO SHORT.

And I AM STILL WAITING FOR A MAJOR CHARGING and UPHEAVAL with CPS or DCF or whatever employees and agency!

Necessary but so hard.

He chose not to appear this either but will be sending a memo or some such. filing. Smh.

So I am not sure how to link shorts as YT puts several on a page, haven't learned to navigate them yet but will give a link.

Grizzly says NH lawmakers on March 7th just introduced a bill that would require Adam Montgomery and other defendants to be present at sentencing. This would seem to imply nothing requires them to be otherwise...? He ghosted his whole trial and he also ghosted Kayla's motion to have Harmony declared deceased (although someone from the jail was there to relay his message that he would be writing a letter or some such on such, give me a break). I think this bill is a great idea BUT why doesn't it go further and require trial attendance...

As I've said before, we've seen this in a few trials lately where a defendant doesn't want to appear and a judge does not insist on it. SOME hearings even though I don't like it, I can see. If it is just something they are going to waive a hearing or rights anyhow, then although I don't like it, I could let that go but not their trials, not their sentencing, ESPECIALLY after legitimate conviction by 12 jurors and the victims only time and long awaited right to address him and the court with their impact statements. He is no longer some guilty until innocent defendant, he is CONVICTED.

Here is the link to Grizzly's short which are generally under a minute, not sure if it will work but he's should at least be on the page to watch.

I didn't expect that lol. It not only worked it went right to hers! I am tickled, usually doesn't work.

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A judge has ruled that a 5-year-old New Hampshire girl missing since 2019 is legally dead and her mother can become administrator of her estate, just weeks after the child’s father was convicted of killing her.

Crystal Sorey “has carried her burden to demonstrate” that her daughter, Harmony Montgomery, was killed “as a result of some catastrophic event” and that her body has not been found, a probate judge said in an order made public Tuesday, a day after Sorey went to court.

Sorey is taking the first steps in preparation of a planned wrongful death lawsuit against the state regarding Harmony Montgomery. Her lawyer told the judge that Adam Montgomery’s second-degree murder conviction, plus his admission of guilt to lesser charges that he moved his daughter’s body around for months afterward and falsified physical evidence, was enough to result in a legal death declaration.
