New Canaan mom Jennifer Dulos is missing: Here’s what we know

Fotis Dulos, 51, is the estranged husband of Jennifer Dulos, 50. She has been missing since May 24, 2019. Fotis Dulos operates a building company, The Fore Group. He has built custom homes in Fairfield and Litchfield counties and the Farmington Valley. In her initial divorce filing, Jennifer Dulos described her husband’s affinity for water skiing, which she characterized as an “obsession.” She said he insisted on their children training to be world-class water skiers, and had them on a strict training regimen that she believed was dangerous and excessive, and sometimes would go on from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Forgot to add a memory expert upset the defense, amused prosecution and judge called a break and said things had become unhinged or some such lol. If i get things done I will come back and watch her :) sounds interesting.

Oh was a defense expert. An "experimental pyschologist". Huh?

The witness, a memory expert, forgot and lost her memory lol. I listened to the first few minutes. LMAO. Now I have chicken to marinade in milk and vinegar (buttermilk substitute) and laundry to keep track of in the dryer.

I shouldn't be surprised such is a defense expert lol...

From what I understand there is some sort of argument Monday without the jury present and then closings will commence on Tuesday.

Didn't get to watch all this but caught that much and she always does a good recap and I'm sure it is one for anyone interested.

LMAO. 10 minutes in. This is a MEMORY EXPERT. Go from 10 to 12 minutes if you watch nothing else. A memory expert. 😂

Yeah if one can't watch which I couldn't recaps can be worthwhile. And I can't watch all of that either but I was curious about that part and so found it.

Closing arguments tomorrow and could go to the jury tomorrow. Not up on any of it other than a few blips here and there, haven't had any time to watch much on this one in the last week, even any recaps, but heard a few things here and there.

So this one went as I've always understood it it is to be. Prosecution first. The defense. Then prosecution gets to come once more. Which case was it recently I asked on when the heck did it start being defense first, then prosecution and that's it. It hink it was Harmony's. It almost had to be as that's the one I've mostly been on last week or two with every rare free moment.

Is Michelle Troconis a murderous conspirator who wanted her boyfriend's estranged wife dead and helped him cover up her killing? Or was she an innocent bystander who unwittingly became ensnared in one of Connecticut's most enduring missing person and alleged homicide cases?

A state jury heard two different tales of the 49-year-old Troconis as the prosecution and defense made their closing arguments Tuesday in Stamford. The six-member panel began deliberations later that afternoon on charges including conspiracy to commit murder, evidence tampering and hindering prosecution. After pausing for the evening, jurors were set to continue Wednesday. Troconis has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

So I had hoped to watch both closings but no chance and don't know that I will get one. I watched part of Lee's last night and finished it just now. The video I posted above. She hit a lot of highlights in both closings and she said both were very excellent closings. I of course thought the prosecution hit it out of the park at one point particularly. She says there is even more to go over with closings but she pulled some of the most excellent parts of both for anyone interested and who, like I as well, didn't get to see much of the trial or even keep up on daily news with it always.

Also, the jury asked for an easel. And this jury may be out for a bit and it doesn't mean they are undecided necessarily, reason being the prosecution suggested they watch all three Troconis interviews which alone could take a couple of days if they do.

From the bits I've seen of trial (far from all) and the things stated in closing and what is known to have been shown, I think pros has proven their case and closing hit it out of the park. Defense did have some good points in theirs as Lee pointed out as well but i don't think it does it for what prosecution showed, Michelle's lies and over what and so on.

Anyhow hers is just over an hour which versus watching the totality of both closings I was able to do last night and this morning and it had the best parts of both in it. She does a great job imo and is one of my faves these days. I don't find her all defense oriented or prosecution oriented most of the time. With some attorneys with channels, the bias comes through a bit at times even though trying to be unbiased.

Generally I think a verdict is coming fairly quickly when guilt is proven but in this one it may be a few days, HOWEVER, they may not watch all three interviews because they already have and may find themseles in agreement without doing so and still come back quickly. I guess we will see.

And as Summer's post shows, she is facing a few charges so verdicts on each will be decided.

I gather jurors asked to rewatch some testimony from a defense witness, a friend of Michelle's. Lawyer Lee and a few others did shows on it with nothing real clear on what it could mean (I watched Lee).

Last night I heard and saw the incident report re RL in Delphi, watched something on this one and something else I can't recall, Audrii maybe, and was going to put a quick update on each in the combined thread thing I hoped to do that in but thought I'd be able to hit each case with the new info but never did manage to do it. Should have just hit the other.

Anyhow, jury still out.

Here's another I haven't watched who almost always have reall good shows with lots of input by guests on the show, it is never solo.

Apparently the jury rewatched it and took notes.

I just don't look for nor do I source print but see all the print and such in recap shows and so on. I'm sure though there is print out there from actual news I'd imagine. Just sharing the update for anyone as to jury's request.

STAMFORD — The jury in the Michelle Troconis trial deliberated for its third day of Thursday without a verdict.

The jury is determining whether to convict Troconis, 49, in the 2019 death and disappearance of New Canaan mother Jennifer Dulos. They will continue deliberations starting at 10 a.m. Friday.

There was a question or two today by the jury on the charge of tampering and wanting to know if tampering meant the person had to actualy touch or handle the item to have tamped to put it more basically than the legalese. They also wanted definition of an accessory like after the fact and what a certain part of a statute meant in their instructions.

This is, oddly, only a six person jury. To the good side they seem to be taking it seriously and not rushing and have questions. This question was if I recall on the third charge down the line.

I slept in (day off) and it was the first thing I saw this morning. Prosecution wanted judge to tell them NO you do not have to handle evidence to tamper but judge did not do that. Defense had an issue with something but judge informed them they weren't on the right point or topic or some such, I forget what it was.

Jury is not back but they clearly are considering all charges and looking at and questioning to do right.

The thing is there is accesorial language is the way I took the jury's needing clarification but Michelle was never charged as an accesory after the fact. She was charged as a conspirator to murder. Something I watched last night said prosecution had to pick a lane and they picked conpirator to the actual murder. Accessory has never been the focus or charge in tis trial. But then jury gets instructions with accessorial language and they probably think her riding along while they disposed of evidence may be after the fact and doesn't mean she was in on or planned the muider but they heard no such charrges or testimony.

I am thinking like a juror who knew nothing of the case and think that could definitely be very confusing. The tampering question and whether she had to handle or touch the evidence makes far more sense but I can see where they'd see she might have been an accesory after the fact but not helped plan the murder BUT if I understand it correctly, accessory ater was never brougtt up in trial to them, her charges or as a party to murder yet the instructions include a subsection about accessorial conduct.

I can see why the jury would wonder. They charged her as conspirator with a plan with Fotis to commit the murder, alibi him, etc. but the proof is if you see it yet there is far more likely proof she helped him dispose of evidence after.

This is a jury that is serious thank God and there is at least one that wants clairification on accessory versus conspirator I'd guess.

After 11 hours of deliberation over the past three days, the jury has still not reached a verdict in the murder conspiracy trial of Michelle Troconis.

Court was adjourned at 4.47 pm Thursday and the jury was sent home for the day. They have not yet reached a verdict in the Michelle Troconis trial.

So far, jurors have deliberated for 11 hours since closing arguments concluded on Tuesday afternoon.

The jury will return to the courthouse in Stamford tomorrow at 10am to continue deliberations.

I think we will see a verdict tomorrow. If we don't there are issues and a hung jury.

That just popped a question. What if they are in agreement on one charge or two but not all?

either way, they have asked their questions are giving true consideration and one way or another i think they will speak tomorrrow by day end.

Michelle Troconis has been found guilty of conspiring to murder Jennifer Dulos in 2019 and five other counts.

A six-member jury returned its verdict Friday after more than two full days of deliberating.

Troconis sobbed as the guilty verdicts were announced Friday morning.

She was found guilty of the following charges:

  • Count 1: Conspriacy to commit murder
  • Count 2: Conspiracy to commit tampering with physical evidence (May 24, 2019 events)
  • Count 3: Tampering with physical evidence (May 24, 2019 events)
  • Count 4: Conspiracy to commit tampering with physical evidence (May 29, 2019 events)
  • Count 5: Tampering with physical evidence (May 29, 2019 events)
  • Count 6: Second-degree hindering prosecution
After the verdict was read, state prosecutors asked that Troconis' $2.6 million bond be revoked or raised.

The judge agreed to raise her bond to $6 million. If she makes bond, she will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device and will be subject to home confinement while she appeals the verdict.

What a jury!! They took their time, they questioned and they looked at all seriously.

What is this BS about bond????????? She was convicted! Why would there be ANY bond? Okay, mom and pop pay the bond, Michelle knows she is going to prison and she flees the country or offs herself like Fotis? WTH are they talking about??? Bond should be over/revoked. THIS is not OKAY. In fact is it is downright dirty and wrong. Trial is OVER. She is CONVICTED. NO BOND. WTH are they talking about and why should here be ANY?

STAMFORD, CT — Michelle Troconis, who was convicted last week in connection with the disappearance and death of Jennifer Farber Dulos, is seeking for her conviction to be overturned, and to receive a new trial.

Attorney Jon Schoenhorn, who represents Troconis, filed the motions on Thursday, stating, in part, that "the verdict of guilty is not supported by sufficient evidence to sustain the state’s burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt on any of the six counts."

In the motion for a new trial, Schoenhorn wrote:

a. [The prosecutors] improperly appealed to emotion and prejudice by telling the jury that the case

was “about” the Dulos children as they sat in the first two rows of the public gallery section of the courtroom in full view of jurors, when the case was actually “about” the guilt or innocence of the defendant, and none of the charges made reference to the children;

b. They repeatedly and improperly asserted that the defendant “lied” to police investigators when the trial evidence was in dispute on that very point, and thereby expressed a personal opinion about the defendant’s credibility;

c. The prosecutor who presented the rebuttal argument improperly and gratuitously engaged in an ad hominem attack on defense counsel and the presentation of evidence; and

d. They improperly engaged in speculation and made claims unsupported by evidence to suggest that random unrelated innocent acts were not a “coincidence” and therefore constituted a course of nefarious conduct for which no actual evidence was presented.

She is scheduled to be sentenced on May 31, at which time, she faces a possible maximum sentence of 20 to 50 years in prison, depending on whether the terms run concurrently or consecutively.

"It does not appear she will be making bond any time soon," Schoenhorn said in an email to Patch. Following her conviction last week, Schoenhorn said he anticipated that she may be able to make bond at some point this week.
