JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

1580704661510.png

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

I am listening to this now and have had it on for a bit. Very worthwhile. Good hosts and the SIL has some humor as well. Looks like there may be a Part I but even if so, this is easy to follow I haven't seen Part I yet.

I watched this episode. There’s actually three parts now, I think one came out yesterday. But all of them were over an hour long and it would take up more than half of my day to watch them. But I think the middle one, part two that you linked, would probably be the most interesting because she is talking about The situation leading up to and after the case broke on the news. It’s interesting to see how his family was looking at things from behind the scenes. Sounds like his kids were trying to grasp what was going on, and then they went straight into denial.

Lori Vallow's version of events will 'differ greatly' from husband Chad Daybell's in court, attorney says

Lori Vallow's version of events related to her children's murders will "differ greatly" from husband Chad Daybell's, according to Daybell's attorney.

The pair at the center of multiple murder cases involving not only Vallow's two children, but both Daybell's and Vallow's deceased ex-spouses, was scheduled to appear in court together on Jan. 9 for a joint trial, but those trials were delayed as Vallow's competency is evaluated and Daybell makes efforts to sever their cases, according to court filings in Fremont County, Idaho.

"Our version of the facts of this case will differ greatly from what Ms. Vallow and her legal counsel are going to be presenting," John Prior, Daybell's attorney, said during a Nov. 10 court proceeding, according to EastIdahoNews.com. "Our defense is diametrically different than Ms. Vallow’s, and the cases need to be separated."

I have the very same problem, NO time. I get a bit for once and see this video and would love to see the others but haven't had a moment since. It was interesting though. Maybe at some point when life slows down (ha ha never) I will get to see the others. If anyone here watches them, I'd love to just hear the interesting parts in a nutshell :)

Yeah, that was quick compared to other times. I think it's time her competency claims come to a halt. She likely just needed her hair done or something. Half kidding...

Maybe it went like this: They claim her competency is in question. Judge falls for it and orders yet another exam. She gets there. They find she is faking. Judge receives word from mental health doctor and declares her competent.

Sounds about right. It would take about 2 or 3 weeks to see a doctor, write up the report, then get it ready for the judge.

I really have to wonder what is going on here and behind the scenes...

Sometimes I think this is all machinations by Chad and Lori... On the face it seems he wants nothing to do with her and for things to be severed and one goes speedy trial and one does not, etc. but they all seem like strategies to me at times... Makes it a lot harder on the court and a bigger bunch of sh*t to deal with and throw in some incompetency here and there...

I want to see them tried together though. They were a duo in these crimes and both fully a part of them together. Imo.

I'm actually surprised. How can they be tried together if their defenses are different? Especially if he is planning on blaming her and Alex for everything, which is what I'm suspecting.

They’re going to end up with no verdict and a mistrial. The jury is going to split on who did what.

I suppose it’s not a great option either way. They’re going to blame each other regardless. So you run the same risks. But when convicting both depends on one trial together, it doesn’t make sense at all.

We should revisit their charges and see what we think.

I have to assume that trying them together is on strong legal ground. IIRC, this is the second time it's been decided that the two will be tried together. I don't get it, but it must be sound legal judgment.

I think it will be quite a trial considering these two are involved.

The last crime I saw someone tried together and maybe one of my only that I watched a lot of was the Arbery case. SAme idea, the three did what they did together/as a team in a way.

Yet the defenses and stances were different to a point. The third guy of course wanted to separate himself from the McMichaels and even dad from son to a point I think. Son was the shooter...

State's stance is this was all an "in cahoots" crime, lanned together and carried out together, etc. right? No fun for the defense I'm sure but they can try to do their own defense I think but it will sure be something to try to do so I imagine.

I see Chad acting all stoic and quiet as he does while Lori acts out and that will be interesting to see if the jury sees one differently than the other...

This is all assuming this case EVER gets to trial...

I believe they are both charged with the same thing in regards to JJ and Tylee.
Conspiracy to Commit Murder
First Degree Murder

As well as charges related to Tammy Daybell.
Conspiracy to Commit Murder

There are also solo charges.
First Degree Murder of Tammy - Chad only
Insurance Fraud - Chad only
Grand Theft of social security benefits - Lori only

I don't know... All 3 in Arbery were convicted and yet tried together. Of course there was damning video but still even the one who had the best chance, Roddie Bryant (do I recall the name right?) was convicted and even on sentencing no mercy shown.

Chad and Lori and Alex and I myself believe even maybe others committed this crime together too. The jury is going to know these were HER children however they were on HIS property. And that HIS wife also died. And so much more. Assuming these things are allowed to be told to the jury of course...

There's enough on Chad and I think enough on Lori. If anyone likely has less on them it is Lori... Chad can be placed there as can Alex I believe but I am not sure they have that on Lori on the appropriate dates. I think there is plenty but not the same evidence on each. And all their lies. She lied about the kids' whereabouts. He lied about knowing Lori when MARRIED to her, and so much more.

There is PLENTY here imo.

And we haven't ever heard the autopsy results and much more... On the kids.
