Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events
  • April 3, 2018 - Tylee Ryan's father, Joseph Ryan, dies. Death ruled heart attack.
  • December 2018 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow make first appearance on Preparing a People podcast.
  • February 2019 - Charles Vallow files for divorce from Lori, claiming she viewed herself as a god preparing for the second coming, and she would kill him if he got in her way.
  • February - April 2019 - Lori disappears for nearly two months, leaving her children with others.
  • June 2019 - Lori's niece demands a divorce from her husband, who says she shares similar beliefs to her aunt.
  • July 11, 2019 - Charles Vallow shot and killed by Lori's brother Alex Cox. Shooting initially ruled self-defense.
  • August 2019 - Lori moves to Rexburg, Idaho with kids
  • September 3, 2019 - Joshua "JJ" Vallow enrolled in school
  • September 23, 2019 - JJ last attended school
  • September 24, 2019 - Lori unenrolls JJ from school, saying she would be homeschooling him.
  • September 2019 - Tylee also seen in September, but it's unclear when and where (she had graduated early)
  • October 2, 2019 - Lori's niece's ex-husband was shot at, missing his head by inches. Shooter was driving a vehicle registered to Charles Vallow.
  • October 9, 2019 - Tammy Daybell, Chad's wife, called 911 and said a masked man shot at her with a paintball gun.
  • October 19, 2019 - Tammy Daybell dies, death is ruled natural
  • October 25, 2019 - Tylee, or someone using her phone, texts a friend
  • Late October / Early November 2019 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow get married
  • November 26, 2019 - Welfare check requested for JJ at the request of extended family - police are told he is in Arizona with family, but he is not
  • November 27, 2019 - Police return to serve a search warrant, finding the Daybell's gone
  • December 12, 2019 - Lori's brother, who had shot her ex-husband, dies mysteriously in Arizona
  • December 20, 2019 - Search for JJ and Tylee goes public
  • December 30, 2019 - LE says Lori knows where her children are but will not cooperate
  • January 25, 2020 - Chad & Lori are located in Hawaii, served with a notice that she must produce the children within 5 days
  • January 30, 2020 - Lori fails to produce JJ and Tylee

One thing I have mentioned before and it is true again with Colby and Zulema, etc. is that most all of the testimony keeps coming back to Chad. Chad is when Lori's beliefs and ways changed. Chad is who they all checked with who decided on if someone was cast out, if another entity took over them, how bad that entity was, etc. Colby called Lori out on the religion and I believe what he was taught by her and what in the he77 type of questions was she thinking, not in the name of Jesus, etc.

This is all damning for Chad imo and I hope Prior is seeing every bit of that. It causes slight concern for me or imo that it may cause a juror or two or someone to feel Lori WAS influenced. It is VERY clear on the other hand she was part of it all. Very clear on life insurance and more. Very clear when someone was dark, they died and so forth.

I personally think just as with Chad she knew exactly what she was doing and it was all for selfish reasons. This was her excuse, her ride, her way to do as she had wanted.

Her trial isn't over, his hasn't begun and I judge them both guilty as he77. But then, that's nothing new. We knew so much in this case longggg before trial.

I think the most telling thing about Lori is that she is the only one left alive out of 5 people that were present when Charles was shot. The other 4 are now all deceased, and she is to blame for it IMO.

Very true.

Also most telling is all that caused her any time or trouble in her life are dead.

Anyone who laid down or went along is alive. A few would have died had she/they remained free imo. Kay, Larry, Mel G. and anyone who "turned" on them or caused "ripples" or "tidal waves". Zulema. Adam Cox. Colby. Brandon.

If they went along or laid down or stayed out of it all, they are alive.

The dark ones were the ones calling others dark so they could carry on with their darkness. All so arse backwards.
 
Watching a recap from Nate from last night and he details the key things in the day and key things in the financials in a good summary.

I am barely keep up but don't think I saw this part here.

Alex quit his job I think August not long before kids disappear, because moving to Rexburg likely as C & L told him to do. He was pulling in good money $4,000 checks two to three times a month from his job. He quits. He then takes out a $21,000 loan and in next couple of months buys 46 guns between early August and late October. WTH do they have him doing and convinced of? Were they assembling an army that could use them all lol (but not lol) or jsut convincing him of such, etc...
 
Still watching. Nate says there is at least one more call coming. He says it is just as gut wrenching if not more and is quite something. He doesn't say who it is. Reporter that he is, not telling us...

Anyone have any idea?
 
About an hour. Worth it for the key points, etc. Awesome pics of JJ and Tylee and pics she took about 15 minutes from end. Then some questions from chat, some interesting ones, one of which is a library in ID won't remove Chad's books, people asking if group still alive, people still following, etc. and he says he receives emails re that... All of interest imo.
 
I gotta run but Nate ends with mention of another case, an FDLS teen who left in her mom's car and they've been looking for her ever since. He will have her mother on who has been looking for her ever since. This was a polygamous group and there is a SON of WARREN JEFFs now a leader, etc. with it, or concern of such. Not clear on it as I'm about out the door. Sounds very INTERESTING and disturbing. Nate will have it on anyhow.

I watched last night, and I cannot come up with anyone that sticks out in my mind. I’ve come up with some names, like Summer. But even she doesn’t really stick out of my mind very much. He said jail house call, so I highly doubt it was Kay or Larry. I doubt Lori would speak with them.

I just read that about Alex too. I think he was completely under their spell.
 
8:44 a.m. Kunsaitis says the department seized the Jeep on Nov. 4, 2019. It was never reported missing.

If I'm reading this right, the point is that although LE seized the Jeep, no one seemed to notice or care. Did they abandon it after Alex used it to shoot at Brandon?
 
8:45 a.m. Next document is an email dated Nov. 8, 2019, that Chad Daybell sent to Julie Black — a realtor in Hawaii. It says, “We are interested in seeing this property. Would the owners be interested in leasing this property to a clean couple with no pets or children? Please let us know. Thank you.” This email was sent three days after Lori and Chad were married.

8:51 a.m. Next exhibit is from Windstream Communications in reference to an IP address associated with Tylee Ryan’s Venmo account. The IP address was registered to a Residence Inn in Kansas City, Missouri. One hundred dollars was sent on Oct. 10 to Colby Ryan from Tylee’s account with a message, “We love you.” Lori was with Melani Boudreaux, her niece, in Kansas City that day. That Venmo transaction was made using Tylee’s phone, Kunsaitis says.
8:55 a.m. Next is a receipt from the Residence Inn in Kansas City, Missouri. Melani Boudreaux’s name is on it and it says two guests were in the room. The IP address was tracked to this hotel on that specific date.

9:07 a.m. We are now viewing an email Lori sent to her accountant. She explains to the accountant that Charles Vallow died and she wanted information about how to forward tax returns to her new address. The email is dated Sept. 9, 2019 at 5:03 p.m. Kunsaitis says Tylee was killed Sept. 8 or 9 — so the email was sent “hours after we believe Tylee was buried in the backyard.”

Ever wonder what parents are thinking about hours after burying their children? Tax returns. In September. :mad:

9:47 a.m. Douglass is a forensic accountant with the FBI. He reviewed bank accounts associated with Lori and Tylee.
10:04 a.m. “Tylee was responsible with her money. I never saw her have one negative balance,” Douglass says. She had two automatic payments set up — her Jeep and T-mobile accounts. The money she received following Joe Ryan’s death went into the Chase account.
10:06 a.m. Douglass says Joe Ryan held a life insurance policy. Death benefits of $60,000 were paid into a bank account held by Lori Vallow on Aug. 26, 2018.
11:03 a.m. Douglass says Lori made multiple attempts to purchase malachite rings on her accounts. As he says this, Lori is taking notes at the defense table.
