JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

• April 3, 2018 - Tylee Ryan's father, Joseph Ryan, dies. Death ruled heart attack.
• December 2018 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow make first appearance on Preparing a People podcast.
• February 2019 - Charles Vallow files for divorce from Lori, claiming she viewed herself as a god preparing for the second coming, and she would kill him if he got in her way.
• February - April 2019 - Lori disappears for nearly two months, leaving her children with others.
• June 2019 - Lori's niece demands a divorce from her husband, who says she shares similar beliefs to her aunt.
• July 11, 2019 - Charles Vallow shot and killed by Lori's brother Alex Cox. Shooting initially ruled self-defense.
• August 2019 - Lori moves to Rexburg, Idaho with kids
• September 3, 2019 - Joshua "JJ" Vallow enrolled in school
• September 23, 2019 - JJ last attended school
• September 24, 2019 - Lori unenrolls JJ from school, saying she would be homeschooling him.
• September 2019 - Tylee also seen in September, but it's unclear when and where (she had graduated early)
• October 2, 2019 - Lori's niece's ex-husband was shot at, missing his head by inches. Shooter was driving a vehicle registered to Charles Vallow.
• October 9, 2019 - Tammy Daybell, Chad's wife, called 911 and said a masked man shot at her with a paintball gun.
• October 19, 2019 - Tammy Daybell dies, death is ruled natural
• October 25, 2019 - Tylee, or someone using her phone, texts a friend
• Late October / Early November 2019 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow get married
• November 26, 2019 - Welfare check requested for JJ at the request of extended family - police are told he is in Arizona with family, but he is not
• November 27, 2019 - Police return to serve a search warrant, finding the Daybell's gone
• December 12, 2019 - Lori's brother, who had shot her ex-husband, dies mysteriously in Arizona
• December 20, 2019 - Search for JJ and Tylee goes public
• December 30, 2019 - LE says Lori knows where her children are but will not cooperate
• January 25, 2020 - Chad & Lori are located in Hawaii, served with a notice that she must produce the children within 5 days
• January 30, 2020 - Lori fails to produce JJ and Tylee

I watched last night, and I cannot come up with anyone that sticks out in my mind. I’ve come up with some names, like Summer. But even she doesn’t really stick out of my mind very much. He said jail house call, so I highly doubt it was Kay or Larry. I doubt Lori would speak with them.

I wonder if it isn't something more outside the box? I guess my reasoning is we have heard of almost everything from everyone with many document and info dumps, interviews by LE, etc. and more. Like what about if she called clergy or a doctor (although I guess that might be confidential?), or someone we don't know abouit? Or called someone in LE or in power she knew to try to help her. Probably all wrong and way off base, just speculating. Not sure I like Nate being all mysterious, I was like TELL US lol.

I thought of that but then why just one and what would they say knowing it was recorded...? Could there be calls from when she was in the hospital or would they not have been discoverable/private...?

I thought Charles bought the jeep for Tylee. It appears she was paying for it herself our of the SS payments.

I'm thinking that Lori would never have put up with Tylee having that money when she loves money and was allegedly hard up, any more than she'd let her have a Jeep that costs that much at 17... I'm thinking that Tylee was not maybe happy if and when her mother took over the money (that's IF it was Tylee telling Colby that, I don't know the time frame off hand)... It just adds to the whole financial motive and maybe Tylee giving her mom some grief over what she considered to be/knew to be money for HER, not for Lori...

Didn't Lori tell her she was dark and Tylee said something like oh no, mom, NOT ME... I take that to mean she knew what happened to those that were dark, they ended up dead... She was likely panicked.

On the other hand, she COULD have meant it as NOT ME, meaning MOM is the one that is dark...

I would hope not as we all already know about that, wouldn't be any surprise, I mean the whole world knows that or anyone that followed the case did I would think. Besides, wasn't that already played? I thought it was.

8:51 a.m. Next exhibit is from Windstream Communications in reference to an IP address associated with Tylee Ryan’s Venmo account. The IP address was registered to a Residence Inn in Kansas City, Missouri. One hundred dollars was sent on Oct. 10 to Colby Ryan from Tylee’s account with a message, “We love you.” Lori was with Melani Boudreaux, her niece, in Kansas City that day. That Venmo transaction was made using Tylee’s phone, Kunsaitis says.
8:55 a.m. Next is a receipt from the Residence Inn in Kansas City, Missouri. Melani Boudreaux’s name is on it and it says two guests were in the room. The IP address was tracked to this hotel on that specific date.

I vaguely I think remember this. What were they doing in Kansas City? It seems to me if I recall Lori traveled in an odd way I think trying to throw off investigators before going to Hawaii. Or was it when Chad took his kids on that trip...? Yeah, Mel B being with her on that date says a lot don't you think? THAT woman was not clueless or innocent in all this. No way, no how. 9:07 a.m. We are now viewing an email Lori sent to her accountant. She explains to the accountant that Charles Vallow died and she wanted information about how to forward tax returns to her new address. The email is dated Sept. 9, 2019 at 5:03 p.m. Kunsaitis says Tylee was killed Sept. 8 or 9 — so the email was sent “hours after we believe Tylee was buried in the backyard.”

Ever wonder what parents are thinking about hours after burying their children? Tax returns. In September.

If they filed an extension to file (no idea if they did), that deadline is October. Maybe she expected to owe and the minute Tylee died thought she'd have the money to pay... Who knows... I'm going to guess while married, taxes were likely filed by Charles, hard to say the mess the divorce and death caused or if she even had any reason to file... If SHE got an inheritance or money, she'd likely have to file but she didn't that we know of... Charles estate may have to or some such to tie up loose ends, but that would fall on Kay I'd think. This case is so convoluted that dates alone don't come to me any longer, or years of all.

Regardless of the reason, it is ice cold to have that first on your mind after children were murdered and buried. Knowing Lori, there was some financial reason. It may have even just been a cover and for some other reason she had a need to have her accountant know her new address... But why?

Why would someone with no income even need an accountant? I mean working income...

9:47 a.m. Douglass is a forensic accountant with the FBI. He reviewed bank accounts associated with Lori and Tylee.
10:04 a.m. “Tylee was responsible with her money. I never saw her have one negative balance,” Douglass says. She had two automatic payments set up — her Jeep and T-mobile accounts. The money she received following Joe Ryan’s death went into the Chase account.
10:06 a.m. Douglass says Joe Ryan held a life insurance policy. Death benefits of $60,000 were paid into a bank account held by Lori Vallow on Aug. 26, 2018.
11:03 a.m. Douglass says Lori made multiple attempts to purchase malachite rings on her accounts. As he says this, Lori is taking notes at the defense table.

What does that mean attempts to purchase malachite rings, several attempts? Meaning her cards or accounts were denied, over the limit? Or does it mean they couldn't be purchased? Or does it mean she got many (attempts doesn't sound like purchase went through though)...?

11:11 a.m. Tammy’s life insurance increase was requested Sept. 8, 2019. Douglass says after Tammy died, Chad made most large purchases including a family trip to Knott’s Berry Farm.

Tammy was murdered on October 19th!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could this be more obvious?????????????? The testimony today is really infuriating me!

Pretty sure I had heard this before, that the policy was increased right before she died.

Insurance company should sue for this payout returned. Not that he likely has anything.

You know, insurance company should almost have the first right to Chad's home and any money given Atty. Prior, etc. as they were swindled BEFORE all the rest occurred and the money was spent. So maybe they should have rights to the residence. In a fair world, it would work like that...

11:15 a.m. Douglass says tickets were purchased to Knotts Berry Farm right after Tammy died. Rawlings has no further questions for Douglass.

11:16 a.m. Douglass says during the search of the Chad’s property between 9:50-10 am, there were there transfers of $8,000 each from Chad’s Mountain America bank account to three of his kids. The transfers occurred as officers were searching his grounds. Around $4,400 was left in the account.

This is truly insanity.

I'm going to guess this and the $4,000 plus was all he had left from $400k worth of life insurance??? I also would guess the $4,000 some left in his account he would have transferred with more time...? Busy boy wasn't he while cops were searching, a call with his lover, money transfers and an escape attempt when he knew they hit pay dirt.

I was under the assumption that Charles bought the Jeep for her too. Maybe he helped her pick it out or something? Or maybe it was in his name because she was under age?

The financing I'm pretty sure would have to be by an adult. She can buy a vehicle but she can't finance one. Pretty positive of that. As a minor.

CPR wasn't started by Alex on Chad, and I'm pretty sure I heard Chad didn't start any on Tammy even if he said he did, and then with Alex, dispatcher tried to get the son to do CPR who I don't believe did and was not even allegedly aware Alex was his mother's husband... All pretty convenient wouldn't you say...? Almost like a pattern here...

Did they ever get Charles phone? Not just the records, but the actual phone? Lori admitted to taking it and that first caused the argument, etc.

I know the case inside and out but details have leaked out, too many, where I can't bring them to mind easily any more at least with dates, times and certain small details.

You know what gets me? If the kids never went missing, Charles probably never would have been determined to have been murdered. WHY? Why did they chalk it up to self-defense so easily? That has bugged me since day one.

There was SO much that should have stopped it from ever going that way. One could put it down to laziness and no effort made but it was too much. I can only think that there was corruption, someone known to one of them, etc. I have always thought that and not just about his death... Too much was just ignored or nothing done about... That was Gilbert right? They never did do anything until other things happened and people started having a fit and publicity and other agencies started looking into the other things. I think then later they claimed it never was a closed case, etc. but not so sure about that...
