JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

1580704661510.png

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

I linked it a day or two ago.
Yes I watched it. It is different and more recent pretty sure with a different reporter from another news station, and so on. Not sure why the jail gave access again but they must have. It's worth watching imo too. I get sick of watching her but this is very different, I didn't see Dateline, only clips, but she's taking some care in this one maybe from learning some of the legal stuff. The reporter tries to put some of the tougher questions to her but those don't get answered... She avoids them or someone is advising her to so the sound goes off in one such instance but one can still see her mouthing... She looks so hardened imo, hate to be that way but I think most of like to see it, I mean she's just so lined and haggard. I think she's geared more towards trying for something to help her tack she might take in trial though. It was just different.

She sure is getting and granting the interviews now...

Oh for everyone, I meant to mention that Larry is very upset Dateline gave her a platform and she used it to blame Tylee, etc. I can't say as I blame him. I've always liked Keith and I get they do I guess what they have to do if they can get an interview but I have to agree with Larry on that one. I saw him saying so, I forget on what show. I haven't watched Dateline and don't intend to, I did cave and see his interviews (Keith's) and some clips.

I did watch this interview though.

Well, Lori's opening statement should come tomorrow.
Per the former prosecutors, special prosecutor and a lot of others we are going to see a lot of deference shown Lori and it's been said not to let it make us mad, that it entirely has to be done to protect the record for appeal and a lot more. Been pretty educational listening to some of these. And the State has to do the job of both if I understood it correctly as normally you have two professionals and the defense atty is doing their part to protect the record and both sides do, but the State has to do it for both sides because Lori is pro se (seems unfair and odd, never knew that). We've already seen that deference in hearings but I've also recently seen some frustration but I think the rest are pretty experienced and know what they are doing. This is all my wording to best of ability as to what they've said.

I think the most in depth on this stuff came from Rachel Smith, the special prosecutor they brought to AZ, it was very educational without being hard to follow or dull, she's very talented in explaining it to all of us imo.

If I have it right, in essence, the P is doing the job of both of the D & the P sincen there is no D atty. As to the record at least. And then she (P) also has to be very careful becuase there is no D atty. doing objections or protecting where she might go (P) and so on. Judge too.

There were also some questions about the advisory attys and how that all works. Some case in another state they didn't give advisory attys. so someone had a very good question about that. She said too if she wants to quit representing self during trial, they will likely step in as they've been along all along and some other things. I think it was in the one I posted not long ago I said was so good with viewer questions and answers.

Rachel also said she's never seen a pro se defendant win and she's had a full, pretty long career and is a "special prosecutor", done a lot, seen a lot. It also though gave a few chuckles, the questions were very varied and I think she is pretty darned personable. The ending many minutes were a hoot. I highly recommended it.

I THINK this stuff was in that one but more than one has said similar, she maybe explained it better.

Personally I think Lori knows a lot of this and at times is trying to push the buttons of the judge and the P, especially the P. Other times she doesn't...

I'd also recommend that AZ interview. It seems she is going to kind of decide as she goes.

Meaning what defense is she going to come out with, she's also hinted she may give almost none so it's up in the air... And will she stay to it throughout or change course...

Without fail almost, everyone in the ID trials have said this P is extremely experienced. As is the Judge.

I might have seen some too on Lori Heller, I think she changed her channel name but she is an attorney and I really like her show. I didn't' realize that so can't tell you what it is right now and i wasn't seeing any of hers as I probably wasn't clicking in not recognizing the name of the show.

Almost every single show Nate has done which I at first thought was overboard, how many, because for one I could not keep up lol, has been very good with very good guests on, most of them from the ID team whether LE or F B I or otherwise.

Yeah, are we ready for these trials? I have a week of flux ahead and not sure how much I will manage. My life is really up in the air right now. With deadlines, waiting for advice from drs., appt, fire inspection for the apartment and more. Work deadline stuff to keep the job. While the question of if I can come through this hangs in the air for me. So anyhow, I sure hope to keep up mostly but debatable whether I will be able to.

Sometimes I go back and watch later, another reason I believe in cameras. I watched Arias for instance yrs after the fact. It did not matter I already knew she was convicted, I didn't know a ton about it and never followed back then and I watched every single court covered thing of the trial. I'll give Court TV that one as that is where I found it. It was winter I think, stuck home, with time, and totally bored.

I think Lori's goose is cooked no matter what. I am ready for her to go away, I'm sure the victim families are, but it's all quite the watch... Not for sensational but to just see how it all works and see how she seems to "tick". Imo. And educational. Jmo.

Well I guess that turned into my long one of the morning as I try to unkink and coffee up.

I haven't checked my other device to see if mel responded for a couple of days now, going to try to remember to do that. It probably will need to be charged. I seriously doubt she has replied though. :(

Is there a link for a live feed?
You mean to this trial? Nate will have it for sure. I'd guess your fave Court TV will. You want me to look for you lol? They will go up daily on YT, oh HTC will have one I'm sure, Scott of Crime Talk, shouldn't be hard to find. It won't start until 1 for me, Nate gave the times for the various time zones. THey aren't starting I think any day until 10:30 and THEN judge has a delay on it, I think that was done in her ID one but that was even longer if I recall. So even when you see it live, understand it is how many minutes after the fact, or maybe hour, I don't recall the delay he put on it.

I'm CST and for me it should start about 1. What time is it there right now? I didn't pay attn to other time zones.

CourtTV has commercials. If someone can find a direct link, I'd very much appreciate it.

It is going to be I'm sure overboard coverage even though Read is also going on, so many have been invested in this for so long...

Even though there will be a delay (don't think it is all that long but just can't recall) I am sure those that can will have reporters outside and such or if they take a break sending things out before we start seeing the trial and so on.

Lawyers have a saying: a Lawyer who defends themselves, has a fool for a client.
The best one I can suggest is Crime Talk. His team live streams the trials that he follows even if HE is not there and is in court. They have a lot of viewers but it is a very nice not off the wall chat, trolls are controlled. No commercials. If a court break, sure all go off but even then no commercials, just dead time but people keep chatting. i will bring his link. I highly recommend that one. None of them of course have a feed up yet it hasn't started.

I am sure some will help daily with live links, I will try but here he is. It's the sanest place imo to watch. You might have to go look for him through this and then find it, I am almost postive he will stream it with no commercials.

Not tagging you but trusting you will see these. Scott though also covers Read so not sure what they will do with two trials.

Your next best place is Nate Eaton, he has his own channel, and then he is with East ID news, and he streams on several platforms and all of their stuff will have it live. COUNT on it. HE imo has provided the best coverage throughout this. He will not have commercials. And you are right, that's the problem with Court TV or TV, they break for commercials during live coverage even, always have. I'd go to his own channel as I know there are no commercials either, pretty positive. I don't think there is with the news station either but not as sure. They will DEFINITELY all be on. I'll go find a general link. Like I said none are really up yet but I know they are all covering. They are the best places to watch imo. I don't like Law and Crime either on YT during a trial. Their chat is too crazy and full of trolls, etc.

Here is East Idaho News and the actual website not YT. Guaranteed you will find a link every day on there. For those who won't do YT out there. I don't think they ever break for commercials like interrupt proceedings, pretty certain. I will get Nate's next but if you want an actual dot com look here every day.

@Cousin Dupree Take a look they already have a thing up on the side of complete coverage every day on Daybell, the one above. I am almost positive you won't deal with commercials.

Nate and East ID news have been the most phenomenal in the coverage imo. Justin Lum also has been great but I don't have that info and he's with FOX I think.

Like I said Crime Talk too, maybe they have a way of covering both trials, not sure but they have covered both cases. Nate is truly the one in this one I'd say. Getting his channel next on YT and that's where I likely will watch.

Actually I think the same streams on all of that one. Here is East ID News again. IF you know how just hit any of his shows above and go to his channel through them tomorrow if you know how. I've tried to help and I certainly ask for help at times but Nate's been all over this thread, glad to return favors though, I get it. And we all have limitations with tech, jobs, life, etc.

I will try if nothing happens should be able to to come on tomorrow and link. AGain if you check the East ID News link I just gave you above, they already have the thing to hit for each day. In looking around just now to help you, I believe the feeds will be the same on his and the news. He is also the one who all the tweets came from here in the other trial.

You HAVE watched Nate no? At some point?

Anyhow, yeah, the commercial thing I recall it even back when before we had all this and I'd watch TV, Court TV and they'd leave a LIVE trial and go to commercial. It is irritating as he77 but I don't deal with that watching these others and haven't in years. YT is far from bad. Beats TV or print imo by a long shot with some things. DEPENDING on who one watches.

Okay plum worn out. Nate's Courtroom INsider is East ID News it comes back to, I've never looked, so do that dot com link above. Guaranteed coverage. Count on it.

Well I've tried to help. Return favors.

It will though be all over the place tomorrow. Just go on YT otherwise. Not TV. Will be many choices. You may get YT ads if you are not ad free but you won't get TV ads type of stuff that goes on for minutes.

Good one to post. That's what i saw. Most only ever give every area but central so when I saw central that is what I pd attn to. And then thought of @Tresir who has to do the math. I was going to ask emu earlier or did I what time it was there so I could compare to mine and tell him what time. Just not been my day. Nate's been great in telling all this.

NO ONE on any channel EVER posts central, I swear, then all out states differ in who changes due to DST and who doesn't.

Tresir said earlier us seeing this trial later will allow for Read.

I thought it was 1/2 hour the judge said but didn't trust myself to say that.

I did try hard on the Nebraska court thing today and it frustrated me to no end. i did find the supposed "free record" site of the state.

Certainly appreciate all that help and notice who does help all with links and you name it. I used to a lot more. And go into actual records.

Just saying a thank you.

And I am sure most including me will link lives tomorrow if can. I tried earlier to help emu as he was nice enough to do a thread for @Takeitfromme .

@Cousin Dupree

Not sure if I'm up for it all but hope to try.

Any more details on the flooding, I honestly haven't been able to follow all. How long did you have to be out a ways away and working on a Saturday?

I think I read a post or two but didn't follow through.
